I had my first weigh in last night. I lost 4lb so I’m pleased with that. Initially I was a bit disappointed as I’d done a sneaky peek on my own scales and they showed a 5.5lb loss so I was expecting to lose a bit more. But I’m happy with the 4lbs and learnt a valuable lesson – don’t sneaky peek as it leads to disappointment when you would have otherwise been happy!
In my first week I think I was a bit worried about how much to eat and I ended up eating less than I normally would. I stayed at the group after weigh in last night and was talking to some of the other members and I was surprised at how much they had eaten (and had bigger losses than me). So I think I might try to lose my “shouldn’t eat too much” mentality this week and eat a bit more. If it doesn’t work I just know not to carry it on.
I was also surprised to find out that you can find packaged snacks for free. They were talking about mugshots that I’ve never heard of before. I think in a way it’s like a cup a soup but it’s pasta rather than soup. Apparently the 1% fat versions are free on extra easy. This kind of thing would be brilliant to keep in my desk at work for the days where I’ve not been very organised and don’t have anything for lunch (like today lol). Can anyone recommend any other similar things to mugshots that are free on extra easy?
We had SW chips last night. I’ve made these before when I was on WW but I haven’t had them for a while. They were lovely. I actually prefer them to normal chips. I’m quite a lazy cook though so that’s why we’d normally have frozen oven chips. I was thinking about preparing a batch of SW chips and freezing them for my lazy days. I’m guessing that if I cut the potato up and blanche it I’ll then be able to freeze it. That way if I want chips I just have to taken them out of the freezer and stick them in the oven and cook them for a little longer than I would if they weren’t frozen. Has anyone else done this?
Also had a little bit of chocolate last night with my syns. You really do appreciate food more when you eat it in moderation. It was lovely!
I have a good feeling about SW. I can’t believe I’ve not tried it earlier and I honestly don’t think I’ll ever go back to WW again.
Well done on your fab loss! I am very much of the opinion that thinking you shouldn't eat much is something that is ingrained by diets like WW, where portion sizes are limited. I try not to go mad with free foods but it is very liberating to not have to measure everything and it's true, eating too little can hinder weight loss.
Mugshots are great for grabbing when you haven't prepared lunch aren't they? I don't have them often but it's great to have them just in case. Another good one is low fat Super Noodles- again I just use them as a stand by but they can easily be microwaved in workTo get your club 10 week I think you have to then go for 10 weeks & have a STS or a loss after the week you achieve your club 10!!!!So AFAIK very few people actually get the free week.
I thought you just had to weigh less (or possibly the same) at the end of the 10 weeks after club 10 than you did on your club 10 week, regardless of what happens in between? Could well be wrong though!I have another quick question. What awards do you get at SW?
I know at WW we got a silver 7 for every 7lb lost, a key-ring when we lost 10% of our weight, certificates (for I think 30lbs, 50lbs etc) and I know you got something when you reached goal.
You get a different coloured sticker for every 7lb (in increments rather than just a 7, so 1/2 stone, 1 stone etc., which I find more motivating than just a load of 7s). May get something for 100lb, not sure, but not for anything under that. You also get a club 10 sticker and a sticker and certificate for slimmer of the week or month. Not sure what you get at target (will tell you when I get there, LOL!), presumably a certificate but don't know what else.2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]
2012: [STRIKE]Start renovating new house (aka open enormous can of worms)[/STRIKE] _pale_
2013: [STRIKE]Lose weight[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]get fit[/STRIKE] and FINISH THE HOUSE!
Weight loss - Apr '12 -Sept '13: 95lb0 -
When I got to target I got a target member badge & a certificate.
Think it can very slightly from class to class though everyone gets the certificate.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Hello All
I have been lurking around for the past few days (again) and wondering whether i should post or not. As some of you know i had an up & down year last year and really i probably (isnt hindsight a wonderful thing) should have waited til i was ready before rejoining SW again last November because even though i thought i was ready i wasnt..I fell off plan again (shock horror
) and i havent watched what i have eaten at all meaning i have gained several pounds
.
I am now at the stage where i feel ready to restart SW again , and i have been "acquiring" the free SW supplments which have been in the mirror this week, and purchased a copy of woman magazine for the free registration voucher and plan to re-join tomorrow.
Is it worth me buying the food directory again or are the syns pretty much the same as what they were in 2012? I cant help but feel that SW may "alter" them slightly just to get people to open their purses? Am i just being cynical?
Congratulations to all those that have stuck with the plan and continued to lose ..i am in awe of you for having such determination . I really hope that 2013 will be the year that i make this change on my life.

Hi Beanie
I expect i wont buy the book in class as i just cant imagine that much has changed in a year and suspect SW are just wanting you to spend more money in class. As it is i will be buying the HiFi bars anyway.
Has anyone seen that WW has changed its plan to one that is VERY similar to SW? My friend is doing WW and told me that fruit/veg etc is all free and you can eat as much as you want. :rotfl::rotfl:

Club 10 is achieved when you have lost 10% of your starting weight. I am not aware that there is a time restriction - so it can be achieved as soon as 10% is gone - (however many weeks into class that might be)
On achieving your Club 10 you get a shiny certificate from your consultant. :j
I think a free week is also awarded - back when I got my Club 10, I received a letter from Head Office. It contained a voucher for my free week - the stipuatations being (for me to be able to use the voucher/claim the free week) (If i recall correctly) was that I had to remain at or below my Club 10 (weight loss weight) for a certain time period .... Can't remember how long. It wasn't forever, might have been a time period of 8 - 10 weeks. Perhaps check with your consultant or weigh in person when next in class.0 -

I've still got a few weeks on my countdown so does that mean I'd lose my club 10 free week? Ah well. I guess it's worth it to feel happier!
You won't loose your week free - as long as you have stayed the same as your club 10 weight or lost more after 10 weeks you will get your week free once your countdown finishes - just make sure to mention it to the lady at the pay station

Depending on your consultant
Certificates and stickers are given for every 7lb lost
Once you reach target - you also get a certificate, sticker and a badge
You can get certificates and stickers for body magic awards, slimmer of the month, slimmer of the week and various other awards like woman of the year or miss slinky etc.0 -
Thanks guys
Let's hope I can get there in 2 weeks and stay at or below it... got a weeks all-inc holiday coming up end of Feb so I shall have to try very hard not to put any weight on!!
