A friend of mine who goes to a different group has lost 6 and a half stone to get to target - she was very determined and hardly ever gained. She has been target now for a couple of years but at Christmas she put on a few pounds to take her over her upper limit and has to pay again now. She eats loads of fruit and has been advised by her consultant to do Fast Forward for 2 weeks to lose the half a stone and get back into her target range. She showed me the plan and it is really restrictive but after week 1 she has lost 2llbs. I do worry though what it must do to your metabolism and it is so tight even fruit has to be counted, it seems to be totally against SW principles!

I know what you mean as I've just been strictly back on plan as I'd gained a couple of pounds. The attraction of SW is that it's a fairly 'normal' eating pattern. I suppose the FF is similar but that you have to be really strict. It's not intended as a long term, lifestyle thing. I wonder why your friend has agreed to this. Is she desperate to save the money/get back in target for an occasion? If she's happy to spend her £5 a week then she can just do the normal plan and take her time or has he been on plan since Christmas and still not shifted the weight? She could go for SE instead of FF as a 'halfway house'. Hopefully she'll get back to target very soon and back to 'normal' eating.

    Evening all,
I posted on here a couple of weeks ago, asking to join in. I have fallen off the SW wagon and need help!!
I had a weekend away with girlfriends last week, result
    3lb gain.
I am going to the gym, doing a kettlebells class and walked 6 miles today.
Actully prior to the 3lb gain, I was at my lowest I had been for years but I struggle and it tends to be 1lb on, 1.5lbs off. Syns run away with me, I am envious of people who can eat 5 maltesers and leave the rest in the fridge - not normal!!:D
I dont think I will have the time to post everyday, but will try.
enjoy the rest of the bank holiday weekend.

Thanks for posting your menus monkee. They look ok but my first impression would be to say that what you're eating looks very repetitive. My consultant always advocates variety so maybe think about this when you're planning forward. Obviously no breakfast isn't a good idea. You have SFs in there but without knowing the salad quantities seems a lot of fruit over veg. I say this because we have been discussing recently how too much (sweet) fruit is a problem for some people.

That being said, if it's working for you then go for it!!!

    Keep posting.:)

warning - moan about to happen - don't read if you don't want!!!!

I thought I'd had a great couple of days. I've eaten well - lots of veggies, lots of protein and not many carbs (trying to cut back on them). Made a bigger effort to drink more water (successful) and walked for an hour on Friday morning and 45 minutes last night.

Result - 4lb on since Friday morning!!!!!!!

OK I know we're not meant to jump on the scales every day but I have to know how I'm doing.

Interestingly enough I also weighed my self (obsessive or what!!!) before and after walking - no difference; and before and after toilet (sorry TMI) - no difference.

I'm convinced there's something wrong with me as my upper stomach is huge and I constantly look about 6 months pregnant. I'm so depressed about it as nothing I'm doing at the moment seems to be working.

Normally I can say that my weekend involves some baddies but this weekend it honestly hasn't.

Not sure what to do today as I feel like starving myself to see if there's any difference although the intelligent side of me knows that this is totally wrong.

I have a wedding this evening and know that I'm going to be miserable in whatever I wear because I just look so bloated.

OK anyone who stayed with me through this moan - it's over!!!

    Hi MedMum,

I too have been in exactly this position. It's so upsetting isn't it

It was back in January, I was good all week, I mean really good, had done loads of walking the hounds, really quickly, not hopping along at a snails pace, really marching. Had said "no thankyou" to the donuts at work, and when I hopeed on the scales I was 4lb up! and the consultant said "oh, were we expecting that?" and I said "no we flipping well weren't!" I was hopping mad I can tell you, all that effort, and my belly was as big as a football :o

I guess you just have to keep going, because it all does come right in the end. Just stick to the plan because we all know it does work. I'm not very good at the 'blind faith' bit either, but if it means I can eat loads of the stuff I have been doing, and over the months keep losing, well I happy.

As a foot note, and asuming that you defo are not expecting a baby and that's not the reason for the big belly, one of my whippets had a similar problem last year. Now, I don't wish to cause offence by comparing you to a dog, however, we had to have an xray done and tests and everything as I couldn't understand why the big belly. Turns out he swalled a tennis ball whole! Just wondererd if you've been playing about in the garden and accidently swallowed something?? It can happen to the best of us :D

:rotfl: thanks for cheering me up Frogga

I've actually just made a doc appointment for Wednesday morning cos it's really not funny and I'm right royally fed up. I've basically stayed the same since the beginning of January and I don't want to cut back on what I'm eating. I use my syns for the extras in my meals (light mayo etc) cos I know if I use them for choc etc I'll just start and forget to stop!!!

I'm not saying that I've been an angel cos I haven't but not anything totally drastic and certainly not over this weekend so really don't understand what's going on.

And no, definitely not preggers (thank the good lord!!!!).
