i aprreciate that , can i ask (sorry if to personal) what weight you are and how much further you have to target ?
the reason why i ask is many of the people i hear from particualrry struggle when they are getitng close to target .
have you thought about attending a group even if just for a few weeks 1. start as a new member , and essentially go back the beggining start a new chapter in your sw journey . 2. the support of others , hints and tips is invaribly helpful , 3, the consutants are trained to help when your struggling
also people tend to lose more when they visit a group
im not saying your doing anything wrong or that it will guarentte a change but it might help and we all need that a times
Rob I really appreciate your interest and help. I would love to say that I'm a stone away from target and yes you're correct and I should accept it - but I'm not! I have about 6 stone to lose having lost about 1 and a half already.
I would so love to join a group but I live in the Middle East so unfortunately that isn't an option for me. I did join last year when I was staying with my parents for a couple of weeks in Scotland. I got all the material and bought several recipe books and I still refer to both on a regular basis. I also had a subscription to the magazine for a year and still buy the magazine occasionally when I know someone is coming over or if I'm going to be in the UK.
This forum is a wonderful source of support and information for me and I try to post every day.Mediterranean Mum

MM here is a starter link about stress and weight:
http://stress.about.com/od/stresshealth/a/weightgain.htm
Edit: this quick clip is also a good starter guide to cortisol:
http://video.about.com/stress/What-Is-Cortisol-.htm and it may be link to the life style you describe. For me stress lowering my cortisol led to chronic tiredness, significant ill health and weight gain especially around my waist. This was then compounded by medications for the illness which had weight gain as a side effect. When I become very ill last autumn I decided that I was doing a back to basics with my life. I now concentrate on enough sleep, diet and 'me time'. I am enjoying long country walks and am going to try cycling and returning to horse riding when my weight goes below 10 stone (11 stone this morning).
I was wondering also if it could be something like an underactive thyroid stopping you losing weight.0 -
Interesting on the stress and tummy's.
Although I have lost over 3 stone my tummy is still very promminent.
My middle name is stress.

I really love this forum, there is such a good feeling of support on here.
I am glad to report that so far the weight loss seems to be ticking away ok for me. I started 3 weeks ago and have now lost 8lb and my clothes are starting to feel more comfortable.
Today I have eaten:
B. Porridge, berries and total greek yoghurt.
L. Came back from a long walk up the hills after church and had:
2 eggs, 2 tomatoes halved and cooked, 3 cooked mushrooms, 2 aspargus spears and 2 tablespoons of baked beans. A baked apple and greek yoghurt (syns as had heb at breakfast).
D. I think I might make soup later, but if not either a quorn roast plus lots of veggies or a salad if I am not that hungry.0 -

I have had my first 'negative issue' with the SW diet today. After the discusssion about the Turkish delight Mullerlight, I duly bought 10 mullerlights on the £3 offer. Although I liked them, I have to admit to much preferring Greek yoghurt, especially the Total fat free one. I have had the last muller tonight and had a wee read of the pot and was not pleased to find it contains aspartame this can cause a lot of unpleasant effects (see: http://www.relfe.com/aspartame_92.html) one of which is weight gain! Mullers now off my shopping list!0
