hey all , so i lost 4lb again thsi week meaning in 13 weighins but 14 weeks i have lost a total of 3st 0.5lb - i hope everyone else is well and heres to the next 4lb 4lb
Brilliant loss rob and many congratulations!
:wave:great to see you stef. I think you and mm (and you're not the only ones) are proving the point that the standard SW doesn't work for everyone. What we can be sure of is that it's a healthy way of eating. :T to your DS. You're obviously doing the right thing for him which makes it somewhat ironic.;) He must be feeling really good about himself. I don't know if he knows that you post on here but if he does, do tell him that your virtual friends think he's done amazingly well.
I had a slightly more synful supper. Was going to have mushrooms, toms and peas but decided to do some roast veg instead. Added red onion, red pepper and garlic but also a bit of oil (only a tbsp and shared with DH). Very tasty and went well with the burgers and chips.0 -
Robpw2 = well done on your fantastic loss.
Had a lovely 6 mile walk over the moors, but has a slice of fruit cake at a cafe half way round.
B = banana on toast
L = chicken, salad and cous cous/ yoghurt
T = curried chicken and veg with rice / raspberry roulade SW
Snacks = one go ahead slice, alpen light bar and fruit cake - probably overdone the syns.
Ah well, back to work tomorrow.
Have a good everyone.Jane 21120 -

I do have to admit i would rather be eating SW way than going back to the foods of old. Each time i have had something that was not homecooked i have felt extremely ill afterwards, either with bloating or heartburn and then chronic constipation. So i do like the satisfaction that a STS isnt a bad thing its a healthy thing.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Sorry that I've been AWOL - got really busy in real life and it won't get better until next week!
SW has been all to pot too.
MM, I use myfitnesspal too and the amount of calories they give you should let you lose a pound or two a week. So if you do a lot of exercise the ideais that you eat a bit more so you make sure you lose steadily.
I do like to keep an eye on calories a bit and it's amazing how much. veg you get for very few calories.Seriously money saving0 -
food for today
B- chose sleep
L-3 plums, ff nat yog & sf jelly
T - roast chicken (no skin) & mixed salad (lettuce, toms, peppers, celery, cue) & ff dressing

*no exercise today*when life gives you lemons, stick them in your top & pretend you have pointy boobs.

So happy though ill sleep well tonight 15.5 lbs in four weeks ;-). But I also wont forget the doom and gloom of last week when id 2 lb on quickly either0

I have cut back on my fruit portions and upped veggies just to know my intake of natural sugars is lower and im doing what i can to see a loss.
When i first posted back in March about the information i were receiving from the weight loss group i know it started a few heated debates in here especially when pointing out that a punnet of grapes around 450g contains as much sugar as a mars bar.
The one thing you may notice eating high sugar foods be it 'syns' or fruits is what they call peaks and troughs in energy levels. So while you are feeling lethargic insticts say to dip into something sweet to give you a pick me up, then the short term energy wears off and you dip below the level you were originally at and so the cycle continures. This is where it is recommended to ensure you are eating the correct amount of carb portions spread across the day to try and even it out and eventually reduce sweet cravings.Brilliant loss rob and many congratulations!

Thank you Stef, Maman and Lantanna and I hope it'll rub off on me too Lantanna !!!!
I love the SW way of eating and I won't ever change it. What I am hoping is that I can combine the two (SW and calorie counting) and start losing again.
I discussed this with a friend last night and someone else also mentioned to me that I should have my thyroid checked so that's another thing that I'll be speaking to the doctor about tomorrow.
Anyway I was up and out at 6am this morning for a 40-minute walk so that's earned me an extra 284 calories for today!!!!
I think that what I need to work on is keeping the non-natural sugars down to below the recommended target and not worry so much about those in the fruit and veg as long as I limit the amount of fruit I eat to 2 or 3 piece a day. I have some frozen berries that I'm going to use today and see what they work out at.Mediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -
:j Morning all, so I'm in great form this morning after a 6.5 lb loss. I was totally shocked and so pleased that I had went as after my 2 lb gain last week I wasn't feeling it at all.................I was extra surprised as I had shared a chinese on saturday night (although tried to be half good and shared a dish and stuck to rice etc):rotfl:
Wondering if my pmt / water retention gain is something I'll have to look forward to every month
We had a different consultant last night and it made such a change as the one we have is really poor. She had brought loads of things with her like the syn values in Subway / Burger King etc. I'd love to change group but the one near me is just too handy and a Monday weigh in keeps me on some sort of order over the weekend :rotfl:
The consultant didn't like it though when she asked what I'd done differently that week and I'd said I'd reduced my fruit and muller yogurts as they were full of hidden sugars! She was quick to point out that these were unlimited and free and said that I must have been replacing meals with them - which I wasn't and she said I sometimes too much fruit can restrict if you aren't eating proper meals as well - which made no sense to me and I was eating proper meals! I also said I'd increased my walking and she said yes thats great but its food optimising alone that will make you loose weight:eek: There were 7 newbies sitting there and she was quick to shut me up which is fine  as I'll just carry on. They need to realise though that we are all different and we aren't all going to eat the same things / amount of syns etc and lose weight..............Different strokes for different folks and all that........
So those blooming Muller yogurts were on 10 for £5 in Tesco before I saw the error of my ways and noticed the sugar & aspartame - so I have a fridge full of them and once they are goine I'll be going down to one / two a week - I do like them but they are deceptively healthy! My mum does WW and has successfully stayed at her target for years and is always banging on about the sugars in fruit and yog. I know that they restrict them there and if someone plateaus etc the first thing they look at is the amount of fruit they are eating..........
The consultant last night said that for the first 6 months that she did SW she was eating 15 syns a day eating 3 bags of 5 syn crisps. Lucky her I thought there is no way I could eat 15 bags of crisps a week and lose weight........
So the plan of attack for this week. I'm out for a meal on Saturday night so I'll be saving most of my syns for then.
Today
B: Cherry Tomatoes & LC Extra Light Triangles (ran out of Nimble) shopping tonight. I know this isn't enough but the best I could do today with what I had until I get shopping.
L: Massive Turkey Breast Salad with 2 Boiled Eggs
Muller2 Pork Chops / Loads of Veg and small baked spud
Good luck to everybody this week:T0
