:o I hated being in their "fat club" with thickies who couldn't figure out for themselves that stuffing your face that 6 Cadburys Creme Eggs for breakfast wasn't clever. I didn't need someone to tell me that!

oh 1 thing I would like to ask .... When I used to go to the meetings I'm sure I was told that SOME of the batchelors flavoured dried pasta packets counted as free food, is that right or should I be synning them? They can be handy for work is all :)

if you make them according to the packet then they are synned
if yyou make them with water then the ones without cheese are either low syn or free but you need to check each individual product

I only ever make them with water - no milk or butter/marg

Frogga you have lost 7st thats a huge acheivement , maybe your not meant to get any lower ?
    /QUOTE]

Was interested to read that Rob. Although I haven't hopped on the scales I know I must be around 13 stone. That's 3 stone over where I should be at 5ft 5in. Just because I've lost alot already, doesn't mean I can't lose the rest surely?

I had a friend who kept saying "you'll just have to realise that you're never goning to be stick thin" and although I don't want to be "stick thin" I don't think 10 st is beyond reach surely? That's hardly a size zero is it?

I may not have been 10 stone for a while, but I wasn't born fot. I ate myself fat. Surely science and common sense says I can get to any weight I chose, be that 10st, 9 st or even 8 st if I wanted to. I could be 4 st if I stopped eating alltogether, which obviously I wouldn't do, I'm just making a point. I realise that I'm coming across as stroppy Rob, I am sorry, I'm not being stroppy AT ALL, it's just hard to get that across unless you speak in person :D I genuinly want to chat about it and am interested to hear others view, so thanks xxx

First I don't think you're being stroppy!:) And I agree with you, you can get to any weight you'd like. I certainly don't call 10 stone 'stick thin', that's ridiculous. I'm generally about 10st 4lbs but I'm 5ft 9 ins and even I wouldn't call myself stick thin!

About the SINS debate, I don't have SINS, although I really think you should. That's what healthy eating is all about isn't it. It stops you depriving yourself etc.

My trouble is, once I get a taste of a "yummy" I can't stop at 10 SINS worth. Eating 1 Freddo was never gonna be enough :o I wish I could play the "everyting in moderation" game, but I'm a greedy frog/pig, and I have no off switch.

Of course, you don't have to have syns but you could include them in meals if you wanted rather than having treats as such.. So perhaps syn some bread to have a sandwich or use some real oil instead of frylight or have some sauce or pickle?

I can see 6 flavours that are free with water:
    • country veg
    • mushroom and garlic
    • tomato and Mediterranean veg
    • tomato and basil
    • cheese and broccoli
    • cheese and mushroom
    They're often on offer too.

I've been OK so far today: fried egg on toast, ham with bubble & squeak for lunch. Planning fish with new potatoes and broccoli/cauli cheese for supper with wine. Quite synful but I always do this at weekends, then eat low/syn free all week.

A friend of mine who goes to a different group has lost 6 and a half stone to get to target - she was very determined and hardly ever gained. She has been target now for a couple of years but at Christmas she put on a few pounds to take her over her upper limit and has to pay again now. She eats loads of fruit and has been advised by her consultant to do Fast Forward for 2 weeks to lose the half a stone and get back into her target range. She showed me the plan and it is really restrictive but after week 1 she has lost 2llbs. I do worry though what it must do to your metabolism and it is so tight even fruit has to be counted, it seems to be totally against SW principles!

cant stand mushy peas .. i love peas but no i just cant eat them ,..my partner would love it

The strange thing is that it doesn't taste of mushy peas at all. I am not very fond of them myself. I had a tin in the cupboard as OH likes them, but as he usually eats with me they were untouched. The peas are blended with some of the other ingredients and just become part of a thick curry sauce.

I try and stay off 'treat' syns as I have the 'no stop button' too. I use my syns in meals for example I had gravy with my meal this evening. I had breaded haddock in the week because money is tight and it was in the freezer from before I started SW. I know if I treated myself to something like a kitkat the whole packet would be gone and I would then start on something else.
