Morning People,
I watched Secret Eaters on C4 last night and it worried me a little bit. I know I keep going on about the amount of food I'm eating, and although it's all free, I just don't feel I'm losing anymore weight? I wonder if I seriously need to lower my intake, regardless of the fact that it's all free, just because smaller people need less food?
Having lost over 7 st by stuffing my face with free food I do know it works, but maybe I'm just having too big a portions.
Last night the presenter kept going on about how much food was on their plates. They did have lots of naughty stuff like roasties and yorkshire, but she even comment on the veg by saying "and more veg, and yety more veg..." and I thought, well I have so much veg on my plate it sometimes falls off!
I'm just panicing because I LOVE slimming world because I like to eat, a lot, and their plan allows me to do this. But I'm not making any more progress. I've pretty much stayed the same since ChristmasSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Frogga seems you and me are singing from the same sheet - only difference is that I haven't lost anything like 7st!!!!
That's such a result :T
I can't really offer any advice because I've also stood still for four months now and it's really getting me down. I also eat a ton of veggies although not so much fruit and I've been walking for miles!Mediterranean Mum

Hi MM,
You may not have lost 7 st, but you prob didn't start at 20st did you? I was a very chubby frog you knowI wonder if my problem is too much fruit. Sometimes I eat WAY TOO MUCH  but then others on here have said they do too and they lose? and if it's free it's free!!! It's either unlimited or it isn't! Yesterday for example I had ~
Breakfast ~ spinach and rocket bed with a wholemeal roll (HEB) opened on top with a whole tin of baked beans, 2 poached eggs and 30g cheese (HEA) So all free
Banana
pot of blueberries and raspberries
60g houmous (HEB) with cold new pots, radish, cucuc, toms, celery, carrot, pickle onions and beetroot
mugshot
SW chips, veggie chillie, mushrooms, peppers, celery and veg stirfry again all free
ff yog
punnett of pineapple
flip me MM that's alot again, isn't it? When you write it down, it looks like LOADS BUT IT's ALL FREE!!! I keep coming back to the notion that I should just stop trying to get to 10 st. I'm size 12, although a chubby one if I'm honest, and so maybe I should just be grateful and stop with the desperation to lose more?

Hi Frogga - to be honest I wasn't far off 20st so our starting points were almost the same honey.
Fruit can be a problem I know and I know that's my Mum's problem and why she doesn't lose. However I only eat one or two pieces of fruit a day.
I've been having this discussion a lot recently because I know that it's all unlimited and all free but everyone's bodies work differently so it works with people in different ways - what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another etc.
I know that there are people who eat lots of pasta on SW but I simply can't eat it - or only in very small quantities and only very rarely.Mediterranean Mum

I'm very careful with weighing out portions of carbs like rice and pasta, I stick to the 50g it says on the packet is a portion. I guess I have alot of potatoes but I don't add anything like butter, just mash them plain, or frylight for chips. I eat ALOT of baked beans, sometimes 2 tins in a day. I guess I'm just a greedy pig/frog and that's that....Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

WI yesterday for me and lost 2lb. So pleased as I've been struggling for months. My weight was going up and down by a pound or so since September when I went on holiday. Then went away again for a month mid Jan - mid Feb and put on 5lb, was quite pleased with that as so easy to put that on in a couple of weeks usually.
Have had gains for the last couple of weeks but not really sure why but probably didn't count my syns properly.
Now only got to lose another 3lb to get back to top end of target again, hopefully I can do that over the next couple of weeks and maybe a bit more before my holiday in June.
Then I'll probably be back to having to lose it all again.

Just a thought, could the cabbage and brussels be contributing to your bloating? They always make me bloat out, much as I love them.
Mel
Thanks for this, I actually think its been fruit thats been bloating me and I've been eating far too much of it. I started looking at the nutritional values of everything I was eating and was horrified by the amount of sugars I was taking in from fruit. I was having two of those muller lites every day with a pile of fruit and then more fruit spaced out throughout the day so now I'm cutting way back.
I had limited fruit yesterday and cabbage and brocoli last night and this morning I'm not bloated.
Fingers crossed I can pull this back in 4 days and there will be a loss - if only a tiny one on Monday. I lost £20 yesterday so the form is not good at all so even the smallest loss would really cheer me up!
Menu for the day is as follows:
B: Red thai Chicken mini fillets (0.5 syn), cherry tomatoes, one slice of nimble (HE)
L: HM Celery Soup, Muller Light,Red thai Chicken mini fillets (0.5 syn), cabbage, courgette & onion
Syns 5 Gins & Diet Tonic & a packet of Tayto Velvet Crunch

Velvet Crunch is another 4 syns0

Frogga, i personally didn't think your menu looked like that much food
Maybe the question should be - are you eating it all because you are hungry or because you can?
Are you eating because you are bored? If so, you could try a hobby like knitting etc. that keeps your hands busy???
If you are really worried, you could try the smaller plate technique?
Stayed the same this week - but i will be completely honest & say i haven't been following SW at all
I'm not even blaming anything on cravings - it's me being lazy
But on a positive note i have started eating banana's on my cereal again - they don't make me gag :j
Feeling very fat atm - but could be cos baby is pushing the fat out further :rotfl:0 -
