I used to be a bread fiend.. give me that over chocolate any day!

3 slices of warbies toastie for breakfast with lurpak and peanut butter.. sandwich for lunch then more toast for supper wasn't unusual.. very rarely have it now and it doesn't bother me at all, never thought i'd say that!

had a wee blip a few weeks back (work as usual!) had 1 slice of toast and peanut butter and didn't enjoy it one bit.. perhaps because I knew it wasn't a good food choice, but I think my taste buds have changed since starting this!

made a spag bol for the guys at work using jar sauce, had a spoonful and thought it tasteless compared to using passata!

agree about the carbs, free foods etc.. could never eat a full brekkie everyday then eat other meals.. would fill me up for the day, plus the calories certainly would add up for weight loss even if its free food and you eat loads of it..

working tonight.. prepared for the munchies attack later :)

Hubby and I stopped buying/eating bread nearly a year ago and we don't miss it either. I used to burp and always have indigestion and I never do now. We don't eat pastry either but at the weekend I had a small slice of quiche and had indigestion all afternoon.

Not at all Maman - when I said limit myself to my 2 slices of toast - I meant that I try most days not to have any other carbs, despite the fact that the toast is HEB - for me that's still carbs and about as much as I can allow myself. I see and feel it immediately. I'm totally obsessed with my muffin top and how it expands throughout the day when I eat  :rotfl:

I was always a calorie counter in the past so this is quite hard for me to get my head around but the fact is that thousands of people do it and do it extremely successfully so there's obviously something in it.

Hope I didn't cause offence mm. You set me thinking whether it might be better to have a carb other than bread? You could have a different HEB (olive oil?) and then perhaps a few new potatoes instead. Just a thought but I was wondering whether the lack of 'slow release' carbs made you feel hungry.

Well, there's one thing .... I must sound like a slim person!! :rotfl::rotfl:10/12 I wish! I am in a 16 but my proportions are pretty good and I have very slim legs. I have thrown out clothes with 20 and 22 labels so I am proud of what I have lost. I am in my 50's and I'd like to lose another stone at least. I think that would still put me at overweight but I'd love to be in a 14.

A sensible way to think Pennylane.

Absolutely none taken Maman. I actually want to stay away from potatoes because it just makes me want more when I start to eat them!

I suppose I could go back to my frittata at breakfast which is what I always used to have and then salad with olive oil dressing for lunch and see how that works. I'm interested by someone's suggestion to up the protein in the salad and maybe that's the answer to not being hungry so soon after lunch which does seem to be a problem time for me.

Of course it doesn't help that I work from home - always been a major problem.

    Anyway onwards...

I'm a bit confused now reading this debate. I've had Weetabix and banana for breakfast.

I had some leftover rice from last night so I've cut up loads of salad veg to put into it - the same salad I've been having all week barring the lettuce. I've put a teaspoon of fat free fromage frais in plus loads of spices from one of those grinders in Home Bargain.

I thought I'd have a green day and forgo a bit of meat in it and have a green day - so that tonight for tea I'll just have salad, jacket potato and probably beans.

But now I'm thinking this is too carb heavy. I've no idea what should I be aiming for for tea tonight very roughly.

Thank you in advance for any advice

Absolutely Lantanna and what works for one doesn't always work for another which is another thing to remember. Like you I have to be really careful with the carbs. I limit myself to my 2 slices of toast in the morning (or split it between breakfast and afternoon snack) and only occasionally have pasta. I don't eat any potatoes except sweet potatoes because I just can't tolerate them.

So jealous of those who can....
where as i on the other hand eat jacket potatoes and pasta and lose weight :)

dont over think things when you do so and start to restrict yourself thats when you will struggle the most , one of the most important things is to enjoy yourself so that you will lose and it will stay off , because diets where you restrict intake of foods dont work because as soon as you stop restricting it then you will pille on the pounds again

Mojoworking, carbs might not have any effect on you just as robpw2 above said - I'm just saying that that's what I feel is restricting my weightloss. Obviously the programme works for thousands as the results have proven it and they wouldn't have developed the green day if it didn't work - but it's not right for everyone and that's my point.

in the group that i go to the people who tend to sts or lose half a pound are the ones who restrict their food intake those who get big numbers don't
i think its important to remember that what works for one doesnt nesscarilly work for another though

my biggest tip and im talking as someone who has lost almost 3st in 15 weeks is stop worrying in weeks where you start panicking etc are the weeks you lose the least .

th other thing to note is try to get a variety of food into your system , if you look at one of the pre-planned menus , there are many different suggestions for meals

p.s eat lots of superfree foods , that helps beans musrooms and onions with everything ...:)

I think your day sounds fine.

I tend to have green days if I want more cheese.
Light green meals are things like mushroom omelettes & stirfry.

    I'm having another red day.

    B. 2 alpen light(HEB), strawberries & FF yogurt.
    L. Chicken & tomato salad.
    D. Chicken stirfry.
    S. Milk(HEA), chocolate 15syns.
Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.

    Happy Hump Day:)

So today here is my plan of attack

B: Slimming World Quiche - No Pastry & Cherry Tomatoes, Banana

L: HM Minestrone Soup (has some pasta in it) Muller Lite & Strawberries

D: Cabbage, bacon, brocoli & brussels (random I know but needs used up)

    Snacks: Mandarins / Kiwi

Drinks: Hot Water & Lemon, Green Tea and Water

After I get my soup finished today I''m going no carb / low carb until WI on Monday to see if that makes a difference. I will allow myself 1 / 2 slices of Nimble some days :o
