  • Evening everyone. Took the plunge tonight and went along to the brand new group that had started locally.
    What a shambles....
Around 100 people had turned up, the IT stuff wasnt working so an hour and half later still not registered or weighed.
To top it off a girl got her bag stolen with her new phone, purse etc all in it.
So this was supposed to be my first official weigh in, get my pack and start my journey but now need to wait til next Tuesday and hope they have things sorted. Hasnt installed much faith though!!

 - Wow! Indeed what a shambles. Is there any other groups locally you can go to?

Thanks for all your encouraging messages. I will try and get over my little outburst but I am trying so hard. I can't exercise because I'm disabled, I always walk upstairs as often as I can and use the bottom stair as a step up. I also take quite a bit of medication which I know slows weight loss down. But, I'm on it now and tomorrow will be,
    B porridge A and B AND Fruit
    S Yoghurt
L Spaghetti on toast 3 syns tomato beetroot pickled cauli Fruit
    S light digestive 3 syns
D cottage pie B 15gm cheese on top A mixed veg and garden peas Fruit
I'm back on track. Thanks again

There's 3 ladies at group/sister group that are disabled. With various levels of things getting in the way of doing everything they'd want. One in particular has lost near 5 stone over the past year. You can do it.:T

Hello and welcome. I'm new myself and was a crisp and fizzy wine aholic. Am learning how to change my ways, and these guys on this forum are fab if you have any questions or just need a bit of moral support :D

Ahhh the fizzy fix wine club.
How to have your fix and not splurg every syn for the week! :

If you haven't yet been introduced to Slimming World Chips...take note

Peel 2 spuds, & Chip( thinly slice about 2cm thick for a crisp like end result) Put in bowl and cover with boiling water. Microwave (850kw) for apprx 8 minutes. (6-7 if going for the crisps)

Drain and dry (tea towel or leave to air)

Spray chips with frylight. Spray tray with frylight.

Place in oven for approx 15-20 minutes at 180.

    :rotfl:Nom Nom Nom! :rotfl:
For something different crumble oxos or add rosemary/piri-piri/chilli...etc when frylighting.

Wine Fix: Look for cheap bottles of wine, check their alcohol content. 5% or lower = approx 17 syns per bottle. (according to my consultant)

HTH helps ;) I personally don't like the cheap wines - so I alternate between wine and diet drinks/tea.

Can anyone tell me if this diary is ok on EE:-

Brekkie - fruit and fibre and banana and strawberries soya milk
    2 plums
Lunch - 2x weight watchers thick bread and butter x 2 syns bowl of home made SW bacon and lentil soup
Tea - home made SW pork and mustard sausages with SW chips
2X cups of tea with 4 x buiscuits as my syns

Not sure if I'm doing this right?? Any advice gratefully taken :)

Morning Penny :D Super motivated lady :D

White Bread, 400g thick sliced loaf, 1 slice 3½
Thick Grained Bread, 400g sliced loaf , 1 slice 4
Wholemeal Bread, 400g thick sliced loaf, 1 slice 3½

Remember that 60g of ANY wholemeal bread is a healthy extra. (two slices of any small loaf if thats easier to remember) MSE wise you'd save yourself some pennies by switching away from the WW stuff. ;)

Tea - home made SW pork and mustard sausages with SW chips

(don't forget your SUPER free... or if out of that add a tin of bake beans as is Speed Food.(or windy :D)
Tea cups of without milk are free. Drink more! ( I suspect you have more than 2 cuppas a day :D ) Camomile / peppermint are good if you have the taste for it.

Ah thanks! We have my bday celebrations this weekend so I'm going to hit that quite hard, drink the house dry then give up booze for a month :T

Don't give up!! I get weeks like that. Whenever I have a really good week I stay the same or gain maybe a pound. I just can't work it out. I have walked 2-3 miles very fast every day since 1st Jan and stuck to plan and when I weigh in tomorrow I will probably have lost nothing.

Have you tried making SW soups - they are mostly delicious and very filling. I made the Carrot, Coriander & Red Lentil soup today and everyone loved it. It kept me going until tonight when I did some salmon steaks, SW chips and a very big salad.

I'm sure you'll be fine next week.:)

I always found this too, I think each week must "show" itself the following week on the scales, whether you've been good or bad.

Mmmm yes love the chips! Also a tin of butter beans drained, put on a baking tray with some frylight and cayenne pepper and cooked in the oven for about 20 mins is divine!

    Good morning..

I joined last night and im so glad I did! Now I just need to get my head round it all :o

Brekkie I had... scrambled egg and tinned toms on toast (2 small wholemeal) so am I right in thinking thats free plus my HE B ? I didnt put milk in the eggs or butter on the toast (and I couldnt even tell!) Oh and a banana, I dont take milk or sugar in my coffee so I can have as much as I like?? Please say yes....I need my caffeine!

Im going shopping after me and youngest have visited his new nursery so im trying to plan for the next few days at least.

Might do a layered salad with pasta for lunch plus a piece of fruit.

No idea for tea.... I have a shed load of veg so thats a start...

    Evening ladies :)

    B - Apple and yogurt.
L - Leek and potato soup.
D - Lasagne (contained hea) and salad.
Snacks - 2 rocky road bars heb, 2 biscuits 6 syns, yogurt, pear.

The lasagne was lovely, we did the hairy bikers idea of using slices of leek instead of pasta sheets, I know pasta is free but I am trying to have as much fruit and veg as possible at the moment to lose the Christmas weight gain. We made a cheese sauce out of veg stock, natural yogurt, cottage cheese, garlic, corn flour and parmesan cheese, then made a dolmio type sauce and crammed loads of veg in it - mushrooms, courgette, onion and carrot, added the mince, then layered it up. Will definitely make it again, it was my hea (parmesan) and 1 syn (corn flour) per huge serving.

I've been very tempetd to try this version of lasagne, could you guide me through making the "cheese" sauce and what ingredients were used and how? :D

I'm okay with the tomato sauce, I can make a pretty good one consisting of lots of goodies!

    Thank you!

Gino did a recipe on This Morning yesterday which he called healthy and it seems to me it would be great on EE.

It was Pasta shells with peas, chopped chunks of ham and onions then he mixed some grated parmesan (shared between 4) with a couple of beaten eggs and poured it over and cooked a bit more.

I might syn that and try it.

Raisins are 3.5 syns per 25g. Have looked up Thorntons and all I can find is Santa and reindeer, 115g - 31 syns.
Funny that I was just wondering about MM. No I haven't.. perhaps we lost her with the new thread?

MM hadn't been around for a while before we moved but I hope she still lurks. K&F hasn't been around for a while either and she posted most days, hope they're both ok.

Green today - was going to have EE and have lasagne for tea, but the EL mince I thought was in the freezer wasn't, so soya mince and green it is :)

    B: Porridge (B), milk (A), banana, raisins (3.5)
L: Speed soup, satsuma, cereal bar (B)
T: Soya spag bol, cheese (A)
    S: Freddo (5), Mini Milk (2)

Have a good day folks :D
