I have to be careful with both fruit and carbs as they really do affect the amount I lose.
On the other hand if it's not affecting you and it's filling you up then go for it and enjoy it.

Lantanna I agree with MM, it does depend on how you react to certain foods. I personally eat quite a lot of fresh fruit as it helps me to avoid snacking on other things, but there is a lot of natural sugar in fruit. I wouldn't worry too much unless your weight loss starts stalling, and then it's something you could look at altering.... I think grapes and bananas (?) are especially sugary, but things like melons are better.0 -
Another beautiful day here - rain given for tomorrow though.
Today's meals are:
B: berries and VLF yoghurt, maple syrup 0.5 syn
L: lentil dahl on green beans with mango chutney 2 syns
green curry with rice- syns for coconut milk Seriously money saving0 -

Thank you both for this - I guess I'll have to wait and see how I get on. I suppose I've went from eating literally no fruit to at least five pieces a day! Carbs are something that I really need to watch. On a plus I do feel much better so far this week than last - the headaches and general feeling strange has gone. My skin is also looking better.
The only downside! Being in the supermarket all the time and all the £ I find I'm spending on food every couple of days!0 -

Yes I also find that but then I justify it with the fact that I'm eating more healthily and so is my family!
If you can get to local markets then you might find it cheaper. I love to shop in the markets but sometimes find I over-buy and end up with too much!!Mediterranean Mum

DundeeDoll wrote: »Another question - with snacks are they also 1/3 SF?
I find the 'fill up on free foods' that SW recommend very difficult to understand. My reasoning is that if you had 3 meals with one third SF but snacked on, say, lean meat and SW wedges in between then you'd be lowering the proportion of SFs for the day. So if I do snack then I stick to the one third SF for that too.I'm interested to know how much fruit is everyone having? Should I be watching how much I'm eating as at the minute its seems like an awful lot.psychopathbabble wrote: »Lantanna I agree with MM, it does depend on how you react to certain foods. I'm not a huge fan of fruit, particularly in the winter time. Most of my SFs come from veg with my meals. I think the advice about doing what works for you is excellent and also having something you can tweak if you hit a plateau. I only cook for two of us most of the time so I find a weekly meal plan and one shop is enough.0 -
Why does restaurant eating make you feel so hungry afterwards?
I just came back from a very nice business lunch and was very good and just had a huge tuna salad (all the vegetables were grated up and it looked lovely).
I was full at the time. Drank water and then some fruit tea and now I've got the munchies.
Haven't given in to it yet but definitely feel a cruise of the fridge coming on. I've just made up a packet of diet jelly so that I can snack on that but don't know what else to do. :eek:Mediterranean Mum

I'm really hungry today too MM, but I think that's because I went swimming and did laps for 30 minutes. So I used half of my HEB by making a tiny ham and tomato sandwich and ate an apple. I'm now going to have a half an hour 'feet up rest'.Seriously money saving0

Well done all on an inspirational thread. Day 3 and went over syns but not too worried as certainly did a lot better than i would have.
Breakfast was scrummy syn free fritatta again
Lunch was pasta salad with oodles of sf veg and 1 tbsp mayo. A google search suggested 2 syns but now i've looked it up in the book 5
Tea was curry. Made sure 1/3 plate undressed salad and 1/3 white boiled rice, but did try out the korma as well as the tomato based curry and dahl. Diet coke to drink, no pudding despite being £10 buffet
Then pub and had a pint of cider (would normally have 2) and walked home giving me 11369 steps on my pedometer.
Tomorrow will be a relatively easy SW day then off to edinburgh for long weekend. Thanks for advice re snacking. Looking forward to writing shopping list.20*25 for 2025: 489 / 5000
