Our consultant told us about it a couple of months ago. I must admit I closed my ears as I'm told scanbran is worse than chewing on cardboard.:)

Today is my first day back on plan, had a bad year health wise and my weight has been up and down because of it. Just come off some tablets which are well known to cause weight gain, so here goes.
Just had my weigh in and I have 2 st 11 1/4lbs to lose, which is a lot when your only 5 ft 1 in !
Bought the new mag and am going to have a good read through and so to the supermarket later today.

    Morning all,
    Hi gang!

I've been rumbling along (reading but not posting) at the top end of my target weight since Christmas. I can feel the focus slipping now, sadly. :(
    <>
I want to be 7lb lighter by the end of the month, which withh SW I know is entirely doable. Shopping list at the ready :D

Welcome back! Good luck, you know better than anyone that it works and that you can do it. Keep posting, it does help!
    Lost: motivation!

I lost 5lb the week before last, but put 4.5 back on last week... not even sure how. Struggling to find inspiration for things to cook cheaply, especially when tired and not at work. When I'm at work, my food is all prepared and there ready to eat so it's easy!

I know what you mean, it's so much more difficult at home. Could you prepare stuff in advance just as you would if you were working? Even if you don't feel like it, if you do it you'll be glad you did when it comes to eating it! I know I need to try some different meals so will be scouring the magazines and a few websites, might be worth it if you need some inspiration.

I haven't, what is it? Never actually had Scanbran but haven't heard great reports about it!

Well done Beanie and good luck Applepad

Well I didn't have to throw myself on the floor last night because I lost 5lb and got SOTW :j First one on my new book as well, which is exciting since we all know it's all about the shiny stickers :p Into the next number down too (just) so getting there, slowly. Going to try a couple of SE days again this week, and make sure I keep my SF up on all other days.

    EE today:
    B: Weetabix (B), milk (A), banana
    L: Mugshot, apple, ww yog
T: Pasta, roast veg, pesto (2), parmesan (1)
    S: Spiral (6)

Not a great lunch but had to grab something out of the cupboard. Making carrot and coriander soup tonight so will be having that for the next couple of days.

Have a good day all :)

I think the scan bran challenge is to have 5 scan bran a day for the week - but making sure about 3 litres of water is drunk during the day

We done a scan bran taster evening last night for our group - me & consultant made ginger cake, chocolate cake, curly wurly cake, scotch eggs, onion bhajis & cheese & onion burgers - all out of scan bran & everyone was pleasantly surprised!

Personally i love scan bran & can eat it like ryvita - but others can't stand it - but cook with it & alot more people like it!

1lb off last night, which makes sense because of the 3lb gain last week after a 3 course meal i don't usually eat before WI!

Going on holiday on Saturday - can't wait to get away from the british weather & to relax!

Good luck for WI's & well done to loosers

Well done Nessie, and enjoy your hols :)

I was just looking at the SW website and stumbled across a part about illness. Since I'm lurgied up to the eyeballs atm and bought some cough mixture last night, it was quite interesting. I didn't know that they had synned up stuff like that, but it makes sense- 10ml cough syrup is 1.5 syns, as is 2 throat lozenges. Just as well the syrup I got is horrible so will only be having it twice a day, max! I'll be adding an extra 3 syns onto my daily total for the forseeable though.

I keep a spreadsheet of my weekly food intake, I always mark in 27 for wine

Where does the 27 syns for wine come from? I make a bottle of wine 24 syns - 175 ml glass of wine = 6 syns: you get 4 x 175 ml glasses from a bottle = 24 syns:D

Just off the top of my head, wouldn't it vary with the type of wine, i.e. sweeter wine being more syns? No idea if this is the case, just seems logical!
