:wave:Welcome newbies and hi to everyone else.:)
cupcake, I'd definitely say you need more SFs. There's not a problem with just having (synned) pesto with your pasta but perhaps have some fruit after it to keep the SFs up. I'm like macpep and tend to average my SFs through the day. If I think it's a bit low I keep satsumas and bananas at hand as I find those the easiest to eat.
lantana, there's no problem about doing SW on a tight budget but agree that having no freezer is a potential problem. I'd put replacing that as a priority. When you've got one you'll be able to portion up meats and make HM soups and your own SW ready meals.
I'd probably advise trying the Green plan as the cheapest. Meat is synned on there so if you have any it'll be a small portion. While SFs are advised they're not essential so you can fill up on baked beans, red beans, corn, peas etc. which are all cheap. You can also have 2 As and Bs which makes sandwiches and toast a lot easier. I'd advise porage, plenty of pasta and jackets and some fruit along with milk, cheese and bread as your staples. Get to Aldi and take advantage of their offers if you can.
I'm conscious that too many treats are creeping in now that I'm at target. I'm buying stuff that I'd banned before (like crisps and buns and chocolate). I'm not bingeing but having a hot cross bun for lunch where I'd have had soup or a small stir fry before isn't good.:o I haven't been to WI for a couple of weeks but since then I've been away and had loads of flexi meals. WI this Thursday for me, then I need to take myself in hand.
I've had beans and toast for breakfast and have got a SW curry (mostly veg) for supper. Unfortunately I have some pakoras and bhajis to eat up (accidentally defrosted on Sat). Lunch, I'm not sure.0 -
Macpep re. onion rings- that recipe sounds like a bit of a faff! I just did it pretty the much the same way as the KFC-style chicken I'd heard discussed in group. Basically mash powder mixed together with garlic granules and whatever else you want- think I used a crumbled up chicken or veg oxo cube, a bit of tex-mex seasoning and maybe paprika. I just slice the onion into rings and straight away dip them in beaten whole egg then into the mixture, then into the oven on a sprayed sheet of foil/non-stick liner, probably about 200 for 20 mins. When I do chicken like this I usually end up mixing the left over egg and powder together and pasting it onto the chicken, as dipping it doesn't fully coat it. Not sure if this would work with onions as may not stick very well but may be worth a try as it creates more of a batter than breadcrumb coating2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

Weight loss - Apr '12 -Sept '13: 95lb0 -
Hi gang!
I've been rumbling along (reading but not posting) at the top end of my target weight since Christmas. I can feel the focus slipping now, sadly.
As I can not afford group - even though I know the group works rapid results for me - I am declaring my return to the virtual group that I know and love so well. I'll be reading through my books to refresh things later today, WI will start tomorrow.
I'll run with 7 days/7 ways things to get the ball really off to a mega start, if I stick with those I'll be lighter this time next week.
Thats the plan anyway.
Hopefully all you super focused, busy bees will help me back on the wagon, you've all been doing so well.
I want to be 7lb lighter by the end of the month, which withh SW I know is entirely doable. Shopping list at the ready0 -
If you're still within your target range it won't cost you to go back to group, and it remains free the whole time you're at target.

Thanks for the warm welcome, I need the discipline of going to a group to get weighed or I just go off the rails on my own..........The last time I did it I wasn't eating the super free foods at all. I'm just going to google them now and make a good list to have at hand for shopping later tonight. I hopefully will be able to buy a new freezer soon. Alcohol will be my downfall as I always enjoy wine at the weekends!!0

Hi Denise.
I am outside my target range by 2lb. I budgeted very carefully to allow myself some "target range play" before Christmas, hitting target mid-countdown. When January came round, and I was 1lb out on my WI I was asked to pay. I pointed out that I was a target member and by my counting I still had 5 weeks left on the count-down.
That wasn't the case. If you hit target on a count down the machinery still deducts. The consultant failed to tell me this. £25 out of pocket and with hubby losing his job I couldn't afford to continue. I felt cheated.
I really wish I wasn't so principled at timeswe tried for a while to find the money, but it seemed a little unfair to say no to the kids for wanting a comic/mag, and I was forking out for something I should be able to do without the outlay.
I miss the group, my friends and the social aspect. (though some would say friends that are lost to such circumstances aren't friends at all...)
There are other reasons on top of this that caused me to stop going, too. None of it belongs on this thread, which for the most part, with a massive dose of common sense, I can whole heartedly say SW works. I'm 6 stone lighter than I was this time last year after all.0 -

Hi Lantanna,
I know it is not strictly recommended in group but a few of us on here save up our wine syns for the weekend
Personally, I prefer to stay relatively low syn on all weekdays (5 or under) and use the balance to save up for the weekend so I can relax and enjoy a few glasses of wine and still stay within my syn allowance for the week .0 -

I keep a spreadsheet of my weekly food intake, I always mark in 27 for wine (really cut back on this now, I joined the cutting down alcohol thread on here recommended by maman) I then divide my syns up between the rest of the days but i also tend to use a lot on the weekend for treats like yorkshire puddings or puff pastry/sauces etc, otherwise I am happy with my hot choc & kit kat as a treat, sometimes just hot choc is enough, good luck & good luck with freezer, you should put an ad on your local freecycle though, you never know.
Lots of good suggestions from maman as well for you x:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T

Lost: motivation!
I lost 5lb the week before last, but put 4.5 back on last week... not even sure how. Struggling to find inspiration for things to cook cheaply, especially when tired and not at work. When I'm at work, my food is all prepared and there ready to eat so it's easy!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16
