Sorry Zippy it didn't happen in fact it's been an awful afternoon/evening :( ...

Had a new washing machine delivered today as old one broke at the weekend :) Started to install it myself as hubby was at work, connected the water inlet pipe, tried to connect the waste pipe to the waste trap under the sink, the hole that was cut into the side of my sink cupboard was too small to get pipe in. Hubby came home from work and sorted that. Pushed the machine into place only to find that as it's just 9mm deeper than my old machine it sticks out too much and stops my dishwasher from opening fully, so have had to move everything down slightly meaning we now have to fit a filler panel to the side of the washing machine to hide the gap. Then to top it all while Hubby was fitting the waste to the undersink trap it all collapsed flooding everywhere, tried to put it all back together only to find the washer was worn and was leaking. Hubby popped to B n Q to get new washer but got the wrong one...called kind neighbour in to see if he could sort it, unfortunately it turns out the whole U bend is no good and we need a new one. Consequently we now can't use either the sink or the washing machine and my huge pile of washing remains!

We ended up with half a dinner of jacket potatoes and pork chops followed by a large glass of vino!

You sure you arent related to me cos when something goes wrong here it doesnt happen by halves. My sink taps had worn the insert valves were vibrating when any other water source was used, rang dad who came up took valves out and tried to source some more, all the shanks on the new ones were too long for my tap handles so ended up having to buy new valves and handles - cost more than the initial tap!!!
I think that glass of wine was well deserved and i certainly wouldnt have stopped at one after one of those days. Hope tomorrow is better for you :)

Well done Nightowl and Macpep, all going in the right direction. Sorry to hear about your sink saga LL, stuff like that just fills me with dread as what looks simple can (and usually does) so easily escalate :(

EE for me today - pretty much the same as yesterday!
B: Mixed berries, FF yogurt, 1 weetabix (half B)
L: Bulgur wheat, roast veg, 1 WW sausage (0.5)
T: Thai red chicken curry (0.5), pitta (7)
    S: Alpen light (half B)

Have a good day all, and happy Easter if I don't get back on here before then! :)

  • So thrilled I lost 2.5lbs this week and got my half stone Award! 7.5 lbs in 5 weeks which I'm delighted with.

Only really have another 6.5lbs to go until I'm at my previous weight of 9 stone 4 but I'll see how I feel at that point and I may decide to go for 8 stone 12 as my goal as that was the weight I was happiest with my body at back when I was 20 (9 long years ago!).

However, I have a 3 week holiday to contend with which may slow things down a bit!

  • I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid in September and been on 75mg of thyroxine ever since. The weight unfortunately hasn't dropped off but I think it's helped, and I definitely look less puffy! Hope it works out BCS :)
