    Morning folks,

Well done Rob and Beanie :)

Despite worries about * week getting in the way I did it- lost 1.5 to give me a total of 5st 1lb and most importantly, my shiny sticker! Most of my other shinies are on my old book so it's nice to finally have one to keep the greatest loser sticker company, book was looking bare! Best thing is I'm still on track to get to target before weddings and holidays, just need to keep up a reasonable pace and not start messing around again!

    EE today:
    B: Porridge (B), milk (A), banana, golden syrup (2)
    L: Paella (2), rocket, satsuma
T: Chicken stir fry and egg fried rice
    S: WW yogurt, Freddo (5)

Have a good day all :)

    Wow, 5 stone. :T What's your secret? :o

I need to lose another 11.8 kg before I can have my surgery. :o

Some very encouraging results on here today. Blodwen, you've done amazingly well to get to 5st in under a year.:T:T If you haven't got a target weight in mind, do you have a dress size you'd like to be for those weddings/holidays?
I found it easy to choose a target weight as it was where I'd always been as an adult before the stress snacking/vino and general idleness caught up with me!;)

Sorry your clinic was such a disappointment stef. Was there anything much to say about shopping? Do they promote cooking from scratch?

:Tfor signing up to online membership dizzy, that's another step to getting yourself back in gear.
It wasn't the weightloss clinic today it was one of the workshops they do. There are 9 in total which surround everything you need to know in order to lose weight. The one today was based on food shopping and labelling so if you find working out total amounts of fats/sugars in an item to use the traffic light systems in place in shops like Sainsburys so you know that red means steer clear, amber occassionally and then green being ok to eat.
Alot of the older ladies found it all too daunting and want to be able to shop and not focus on these things - apart from the one old dear who was too worried about how many times her chip fat oil can safely be used without changing it :o
It is insightful if you dont have a clue about any of the issues raised i think the only thing i took away from it this week was what was covered previously about the amounts of sugar/salt/fat in an item and how to work out if it were too high so then it would turn to fat etc.
So below 5g of sugar, ideally 3g of fat per serving would be a great food to have.
I do believe they are trying to stress the importance of cooking from scratch but most of the people in the group are housebound singletons who rely too much on convenience foods. The one gentleman cant stand as his knees have gone so admitted to being bed bound and unless it can fit in a microwave he wont have it.

Hi all  My SW journey so far this year hasn't really happened. To be fair, I haven't really been sticking to the rules and weekly syns daily probably speaks volumes.....

I feel ready for change however and will be sitting down before I return to work in a few days time to meal plan.

I'm more a red/green girl than extra easy and wondered if anyone could offer any tips or suggestions/menu ideas on how best to approach my new journey. Talking to a fellow SW member at class last night, I felt (can't put into words) as she detailed how low her syns had been for the week... (when mine had been stupidly stupidly high)

I know I've been making bad choices and that my head hasn't been in the right place but I'm not happy as I am and I want to change. I have wondered whether it is time to knock sw on the head because trying to manage syns has become quite destructive for me. I punish myself for having too many syns by having more syns..... Daft. but thats the point I'm at. All advice and criticism welcome!

    Hi all
Way to go Blodwen, Beanie, Rob and anyone else who I missed (sorry if I did, scanned through last few pages quickly).

Not seen Banjo post for a few pages, hope you're ok?

Quick update-been to surgeon re: lump in neck.
Have to determine if it's lump or cyst. Ultrasound, then biopsy if determined to be a lump. Probably benign. If lump, operate to remove.

But the surgeon said a very weird thing. She looked at me and said "Do you know the right side of your face isn't working properly?"
Err, no I said. So now that has to be investigated too.
Hubby very sick, and just narrowly avoided being carted off to hospital yesterday with pacreatitis, a side effect of anti biotics he's been taking.
I'll tell you what, I am just about at the end of my tether.
Exhausted.com doesn't begin to cover it.

    Sorry for whining. TTFN

    25g cornflour
    275ml veg stock
    50g grated mature cheddar
    1 level teaspoon dijon mustard
    salt and pepper

Whisk the cornflour in to the veg stock, pour in to a small pan, and cook over a gentle heat, stirring continuously until thickened.
Stir in the grated cheese and continue to cook stirring frequently until melted
Add the mustard, season to taste and serve immediately.

4 syns on all plans, per serving
