Banjo - oh no, hope you're ok. If it's affecting driving will you be ok to run all your errands tomorrow?
Psycho - good luck, hope WI is better than you expect!
Wardy - Well done, 2lb is a great loss!
Rob and Stef - I'm in two minds over this. We've never been told explicitly in class to cut back on sugary fruit, just to keep an eye on it if we eat tons of it and aren't losing weight. There's nothing inherently wrong with things like grapes and although there may be as much sugar as a Mars bar it's certainly a lot healthier as it doesn't have the fat/calories. I'm not for a minute suggesting you don't follow what the workshops are saying Stef and I hope it helps kickstart your weight loss, but I'm a bit wary of counting sugar because even though complex carbs in veg, grains etc cause a much slower increase in blood sugar than simple sugars (whether that be table sugar or from fruit), they all end up as glucose and, if it's not used, fat. Of course it is better not to eat a Mars bar but going by sugar alone it could be said that a punnet of grapes is just as bad, which of course it isn't. Just my twopenneth

A lot of Glaswegian accents going on too, but as I'm not a native, and speak with an ooo arrr Dorset ish accent, I can't really moan about that lol. A Shetland accent is very different from anything other, partly as they have their own dialect, so you are right in that respect. You cannot get phone signal if you have some networks as not all of them do coverage here. There are no trees, that is correct and the only high street stores we have are Boots, Specsavers (which has only just opened) and M&co.
As for snow, we got up to a covering this morning (boo). We do get a lot compared to other islands, like you say , as we are so far north. Shame really as I hate it lol.
It got mixed reviews, particularly from folk up here, as some couldn't get past the fiction part of it. You certainly can't see Norway from here, and things like that were annoying people, but you always get those!
Anyone remember Kingdom with Stephen Fry? We had the same reaction as it was set in Norfolk and the accents where terrible. Some sounded like Jethro and others made us sound like 'proper bumpkins' [ok some really do sound like it :rotfl:]. Even Stephen Fry agreed the accents were naff.

8.5 syns today leaving 6.5syns for those I haven't consciously allowed for which has been good.
filling up on smash, mixed veggies and baked beans with my skinny lizzies
just popped on to check what i planned for tomorrow so I can get my lunch sorted whilst I make tonights tea.
night in alone tonight so using it to plan as many different lunches as possible so that I don't get so bored with what I eat at work and want to snack! i tend to take a picnic style lunch which i can pick at throughout the afternoon. example: sandwich (no spread, free filling), 2/3 pieces of fruit, jelly pot (0.5) syn and then either a 2finger kit kat or space raiders or other biscuit/treat that is 6syn. off to eat then put my thinking cap on************************************

I'm afraid laughed out loud as soon as I read it Poor banjo we shouldn't be laughing at your misfortunes!
Thanks for curry advice. I ended up adaptng the spinach/potato and lamb one. I used sweet potato and LO chicken threw in a few peppers and curry powder instead of paste. It smells good and it's in the freezer for another day.
Interesting debate about the fat clinic advice. We've been told to limit bananas and grapes but I'm sure you can be extra strict within SW. I think I read something where you follow SW but do a lot of weighing. It may have been in one of the books.0 -

it's the fast forward plan - although i can't find specific details. Very measured and regimented.
I don't know of it being in any books (although - im not sure), but it seems like a very big secret online! From what I can gather, everything has units and nothing is free.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
