Would the children not come with you just for the weigh in? Woul give you a chance to say hi to others at the group and feel a llittle involved. I noticed lots at my group didn't stay. I can see myself have issues like this as hubby isn't keen on me losing weight 'loves me as I am', code for 'oh my God, others might look at you!', lol.0

What did you all think?
I did - it got panned on Digital Spy but not not sure why as I enjoyed it. The scenery was breathtaking. A lot of people on DS were saying it was unrealistic with the phone signal, ethnic minorities living there etc but then some people who actually live there came on and slapped them down :rotfl: Wasn't sure about the accents though- I know a girl form Lerwick and her accent, although very recognisably 'Scottish', is quite different from a lot of those on the programme. Was going to ask if you get snow- my folks live on an island and rarely get any because of the sea but it must be freezing so far North so wondered if you got much?Banjo_Bear wrote: »

So I'm snookered. And it doesn't look good does it? There's no way DD will come with me, and I can't leave them.
I would agree with Stef and Nightowl, surely there is some way around it? Either pop in to weigh and run, take the kids with you (possibly softened with a bribe of some sort?!), go to another class another day (doesn't have to be the same leader) or get someone to watch the kids for an hour. It does sound like not everyone in your life is completely supportive of your weight loss efforts but the best answer to that is simply to prove them wrong and do it. Good luck
Glad to be in work today for some warmth as our boiler packed in on Sunday, just as the weather turnedShould be fixed tonight but it has been bloody freezing in our house so last few evenings have been spent in bed trying to keep warm - thank God for electric blankets and warm kitties who kindly act as personal radiators
EE for me today:
B: Porridge (B), milk (A), banana, golden syrup (2)
L: L/O pasta with roast veg, pesto and parmesan (syns counted yesterday - had this for tea last night instead of risotto as Aldi had no mushrooms whatsoever!), satsuma
T: Hairy Dieters chicken jalfrezi, rice
S: Options (2), Spiral (6)

Good price for it. I used to use this exclusively when it first came out. Wasn't weighing at the time, but went down 5-6 dress sizes with it! I just picked up her latest one which sounds a bit scary - it's called Hard Body. Don't think it's in R2 release yet, I always get her DVDs as R1 from Amazon US. No real reason other than my first couple were as I couldn't get them here at the time and now I like them to match.
Haven't been posting as I'd gone off plan due to anxiety (my main binge trigger) waiting for some results to come through. Got the good news last night though, so it's back on track from today.
Breakfast - Protein porridge (HEB + 2) with banana and berries, black coffee
Lunch - Salmon, new potatoes and salad (est. 2.5 for dressing)
Dinner - Chilli (homemade, extra lean with lots of veg) with small portion of brown rice and lots of spinach
Pudding - Sainsbury's fruit spiral lolly (2.5 - obsessed with this!)
Snacks - Apple, chocolate kara (HEA), greek muller (0.5), small bag popcorn (2.5)
Hope everyone is doing well, hugs to all who need one today!0 -
So yesterday was the workshop on sugars, today being a div have calculated the sugars in brekkie alone - Porridge, kiwi, melon and pineapple this totals 26.5g of sugar alone when daily intake is 90g
Looks like i will be analyzing eveything today to keep those numbers down
Haven't even thought about lunch yet but tea will be Beef kofta curry. Curry equates to jut 1.42g of sugar without any extra veggies added to it and using brown rice. Phew thats a little bit of leyway to play for lunch and snacks.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

As for snow, we got up to a covering this morning (boo). We do get a lot compared to other islands, like you say , as we are so far north. Shame really as I hate it lol.
It got mixed reviews, particularly from folk up here, as some couldn't get past the fiction part of it. You certainly can't see Norway from here, and things like that were annoying people, but you always get those!
Banjo, sorry to hear you've not been feeling great, we ought to start a "not feeling great" club0 -

A lot of Glaswegian accents going on too, but as I'm not a native, and speak with an ooo arrr Dorset ish accent, I can't really moan about that lol. A Shetland accent is very different from anything other, partly as they have their own dialect, so you are right in that respect. You cannot get phone signal if you have some networks as not all of them do coverage here. There are no trees, that is correct and the only high street stores we have are Boots, Specsavers (which has only just opened) and M&co.

Below i will link the recent article to the town i live in, most of it is balderdash and the reporter who claims to have once lived here is so factually wrong you start to wonder if she has even got the right town. The fat population info is also 6 years out of date so just used for shock purposes. So i am now portrayed as being a fat lazy slob who cant walk past a burger bar without being tempted in with a mobility scooter parked up round the corner as my means of transportOh and the Mcdonalds in town centre moved over a year ago to an industrial estate 3.5 miles away.

Just had a quick read through on that article Stef - typical Daily Fail rubbish. They neglect to mention that pretty much any large town or city has a McD, burger vans and sandwich shops. On the basis of a comment from one person they have concluded that the entire population of Tamworth class McDs as health food, and say that swimming is impossible because the pool was closed only to be replaced by... a facility with a pool plus free swimming elsewhere. I obviously don't know the ins and outs of it like you do (although Liverpool gets a mostly unjustified bad rep for drink/drugs/poverty - the latest Junior Doctors prog was one of them though it was actually quite subtle in it's damning of the city!) but sadly people believe this sort of tripe2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]
