Lucky legs - Hope you had a nice day yesterday, sorry I missed it, was helping DH run cables through our wall to put tv up :D

    Thank you all :) x

Not having the best day today, I have eaten fairly good meals though not on plan entirely...

    B - 2 x weetabix (B), Milk (A) - no fruit in the house at all, hadn't realised!
L - Chicken flavour boiled rice (1syn), chargrilled chicken, forgot to add any vegetables but did eat a banana (had been shopping by this time)
T - SW Chicken tikka masala (not really enough veg to count as a EE meal), served with oven chips (guessing around 5 syns)

Have also eaten several chocolates left over from yesterdays birthday/mothers day (? 10 syns)

On the bright side I did resist a proper samosa at work today that had been brought in by one of my colleagues (who is asian and had, had them made specially, and from past experience they are really, really lovely!) I was quite proud of this as I was in a staff room full of other people munching on them and some people chose to warm them up and the smell was drifting!!

I will try to get back to it properly tomorrow. I hope I can but I must admit I keep thinking about the fact we are out at the weekend for a belated birthday meal (I'm tight and wouldn't pay inflated prices on Mothers day!) and I'm not planning on even considering what I am eating on the day as it's not often we go out to eat.

Hope everyone else is having a better day than I am :)

    Hi There

I joined a group last Tuesday - so tomorrow is my first WI and I am propper terrified because I cant seem to get my head round this way of eating (trying not to say diet).

I did SW approx 10yrs ago and lost a grand total of 7lb in 6 mnths, but now they have EE as well as Original and Green Days have been trying to follow EE days, but not doing very well I dont think.

Last Wed (day 1) I came down with a virus and have felt so sick until today and then I look to eat something and I go into complete panic that I can't make the right choices. I MISS BREAD SO MUCH.

In principle it seems so easy but when you are standing in front of the fridge the pressure just gets to me!

P.s. I would be estatic to lose a stone (soonish) but ideally need to lose 8st to get to a Healthy BMI.

:bdaycake:happy belated birthday Lucky Legs :) sounds like you had a good day :)

    :j wowzer rob well done

Now to introduce myself, I started to follow SW plan 25th feb. just by chance thought I'd have a peep to see if there was anything on the forum and found you guys:) I'm so very pleased I did, even though it has taken me such a long time to read 161 pages. I have never ever dieted before was quite slim until I hit 35/40 but happy. Had a fabulous holiday, came home mid February and decided something had to be done! I'd like to loose weight obviously but was drawn to slimming world more to make a lifestyle change :) sounds geeky:rotfl:
I'm not geeky, never eaten fruit or veg ( odd banana here and there and mushy peas at a push) so found my first week different to say the least.
My DD has been to groups but they are not me. And now she's decided to weigh in at mine! So we have a merry bunch five of us now all family for our Monday weigh in :) I'm pleased to say week one I saw a 4lb loss and today another 3lb so that's my 0.5 st but no shiny stickers :)
I've been reading about you all now for about a week and would really love to join, I'm looking forward to all your stories and being able to support one another.
For the last two weeks I've been a little like banjo and scared to max out on my syns, however this week I've decided to include little treats to show I can - please please don't put me on banjos naughty step xxx

    Good morning lovelies

Rob, that is Ab Fab :T. I am well jeal :p

Welcome Donna, I miss bread too. But it seems to have been a habit, as I don't miss it so much as time goes on. Don't make it too hard though, have a bit of what you fancy and syn it. Though I'm one to talk lol :D

Welcome Nanamia, sounds like you have a lovely family Group going - well done! Looks like I'll still be on my own on the naughty step then :rotfl:
  • Hi All, I've got three stone to lose, have so far lost one and a half stone and have now stuck. The last two weeks I've had a small gain and a STS. It's really disheartening. :( It is * week this week, and I have had a couple of treats and worked through some Haribo (as I was feeling down at the weekend- mothers day and I lost my mum a few years ago) but feeling bloaty and chubby.

What is good to kickstart things again? (I don't go to group or pay online, I just have the books from a few years ago -as you can tell from my sig I can't afford groups!)

I would suggest EE or Sucess Express (SE) the fruit and veg boost seems to really kick weightloss in to gear. if you don't have EE in your books all it is is ensuring that a minimum of your plate is 1/3rd superfrees which are most fruits and veggies.

    my day today:
breakfast: bran flakes (HeB) with a banana and some easi-yo yogurt (2)
lunch: cauliflower and horseradish soup (1), 2 tangerines, jelly pot (0.5)
brisk walk at lunch to stretch my legs before my leadership and management course starts this afternoon! (45-60min)
tea: chicken wrap (no sauce) from a local take away (estimating 10syn but know that that is an overestimate) might have a few of m y fries so allowing (5) for that but usually ive them to bf!

have decided that I may want to lose about 5lbs to take me to 10st7lb by my birthday in July which is 3lb below target but will give me leeway to enjoy it!
bf is away two days this week and two next week so one those days i have no excuses not to be 100% on plan. we are off to see my auntie a week on Friday so would like to see 2lb gone by then :)
going to try and stick to the plan a minimum of six days a week and maybe have a flexi day each week for date night :)

hope you all have nice days

Tonight i have made some 'syn free' lemon curd. Debatable about syn value as if you juice lemons they become syns but i cant see me eating 2 lemons worth of lemon curd and all i can say so far is its yummy - only licked the bowl cos banjo taught me :rotfl::D

Lemon juice from a bottle (Jif and the like) is free so I can't see juiced lemons becoming syns even if it is technically juicing fruit. I was just saying to OH in Asda on Sunday that I used to love lemon curd when I was tiny so will defo make some, thanks for the recipe- only problem is I'll want to have it on toast!

heya all well guess what ...
    1st week 3lb , 2nd week 4.5 ,3rd week 3 lb 4th week 4.5lb 5th week 2.5lb .. ....so this week .........

    4.5lb ... thats 1stone 8lb in just 6 weeks :)

    Fab result, well done!

Donna - don't be scared, you'll get plenty of support from you group and on here. If you're not sure of anything ask your consultant or us, we're always happy to help. Just remember, if you stick to the plan, you will lose weight :)

Nanamia- Well done on your loss so far. If you want to stay off the naughty step you need to eat your syns! Oddly enough, in class last night someone only lost 0.5lb and was really disappointed as she'd only had 40 syns all week so thought she was going to do great. Even though our leader is great and v experienced she never suggested that maybe she hadn't eaten enough, whereas on here we KNOW that that can affect losses. Obviously that doesn't always happen but I don't think it's a good habit to get into. Good on you for including syns this week though.

Which brings me onto WI - last week I gained 2.5 (felt a bit cheated but never mind), this week stuck to it 100% and had 10-12 syns every day which is the norm for me, then had the full 15 on Sunday, and lost 4.5 :D Just a measly half pound away from my 5st! At least it gives me something to aim for next week!

    Green today:
    B: Scrambled egg, toast (B), milk (A)
L: Jacket spud and beans with side salad, satsuma
    T: Mushroom risotto, parmesan (1), pitta (B+1)
    S: Banana, Freddo (5), Jelly Tots (7)

Have a good day folks :)
