Going to make some curry sauce today or tomorrow to use up LO chicken. I've got curry powder and also most likely spices. I like tomatoey jalfrezi/bhuna type curries rather than creamy ones. Favourite recipes anyone?
I won a £5 voucher in the raffle this week so am going to get either the curry or taste of Asia book next time..
For convenience I use the Pataks pastes for my curries, depending on which you use they are between 1-2 syns for a level tbsp and that goes quite a long way.. add a tin of chopped tomatoes or some quark and chuck in a few more spices and chilli..
Hope everyone has had a good day.. work is dragging, determined not to nibble tonight0 -
sorry in advance as this is likely to be a lengthy post again!
hmm today has not been such a good one food wise.
this colder is slowly getting its grip on me - now I'm all bunged up and feel like it will hang around my sinuses for ages as colds always do with me being so prone to sinusitus! must remember to drink loads to keep hydrated rather than snacking
went to makro today for our quarterly food, laundry detergent and special offers shopwe are a right pair of sad twenty-somethings as we love that place! Bf got me an Easter egg I've been lusting after...haven't had an Easter egg in about 9/10years so I get giddy walking in to the spare room now haha I will pick his up after payday and hide them to surprise him with them
also bought some space raiders which were reduced, just looked them up and its 6syns for the bag and the bags are quite substantial so they will be a treat in my lunch box once or twice a week. i think i will have them on Wednesdays as my breakfast with be my HeB plus half my HeA, the rest of lunch with be soup at 2syns or less and tea is sausages (skinny lizzys so 2syn for 2) with free mash and veg
planning is my weapon of choice this week and in appropriate fashion I have already made low syn cottage pies for tomorrows tea! lunch will be left over spag bol sauce with some pasta i cooked today followed by some jelly and for breakfast i think i will have bran flakes (heb) with some yogurt a banana and a satsuma.
got some hard boiled eggs ready to nibble on in the fridge too and some carrots along with a chunk of cucumberdetermined not to let a cold make my 2lbs turn in to any more.
gym twice this week (wednesday and friday) a 45-60min walk each lunch (brisk) and no events at work to tempt me! having one take out this week due to a late finish at work and possibly one on 'date night' depending on what we decide to do. I'm having just one HeB each day this week so breakfasts on the days with sandwiches will be fruit/yogurt. lunches are planned to hover around 6syns.
off to properly meal plan for the week. Can't wait until summer (usually something I never say!) so that all the lush fruit and veg is in season then hopefully prices will drop a bit!!!************************************

Happy Mother's Day folks, and thoughts to those missing their mum
Happy Birthday Lucky-Legs, hope you've had a good day!
I've been very good since I joined on Tuesday and pretty much have got my head round things (and really enjoy not having to point EVERYTHING a la WW). We went to the beach today, which was FREEZING so after five minutes of trying to persuade the kids it was fun we caved in and headed into the cafe!!!! I opted for the grilled chicken burger (no mayo, can't stand the stuff) which came with a small bun and lots of lettuce, and a small (fashionable!) dish of chips. I had a glass of wine but much as I tried to avoid it, I just had to have a the chocolate brownie with spiced chocolate sauce and ice cream......OMG, totally worth it!!!!
Back to being good tomorrow, and then WI on Tuesday morning. I'm feeling trimmer and can already see a difference in the stubborn roll round my middle, so I'm hoping something's come off, even if it's not a lot!0 -

Trying to lose weight and drinking plenty of water? Did you know tap water is very high in sodium (salt)? Sodium causes the body to retain water so try switching to bottled water with a lower sodium level - the current lowest one is Highland spring.
Anyone else heard anything else like this?0 -

A tale on the wrongs of weighing at home.
This morning I was 10.10.
Weighed after my tea and had gone up to 11 stone.
As easily as that :rotfl:

Morning everyone, cold and sunnny but snow on the ground not what you want on a Monday morning.
Belated happy birthday lucky legs, hope everyone had a good weekend, Mothering Sunday can give mixed emotions for people. 2.3/4 lb off today which very happy with after only 1/2 lb last week. Stuck to plan on Saturday but out for a Mothers Day lunch yesterday and ate all 3 courses and wine but only fruit for breakfast and dinner. Had a lovely time, 15 of us, 3 generations and 6 mums in the mix including my darling Mum who has dementia and has almost no short term memory, you could see she was enjoying herself but by today she won't even remember having been out. Although I do think the 'feel good' factor stays with her but she won't remember why.
Have made veg and lentil soup for lunch, just as well, while typing snow has started falling again!
xxTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0
