  • Well done shar :j

Shellie that's a great weight loss, was that in just a year? Did you exercise too? I've got a big target to aim for.

My first weigh in was feb 29th 2012. Target reached by the end of October. It is a swift loss yes. Did I exercise. Only walking DD1 to school every other day, once I hit club 10 and realised SW worked I started making the most of my Wii Fit. Now I exercise a bit more than that, but because I enjoy it.
Lost more between October and December - as a result I am back at my first target now. The other few pounds will :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:go gradually.

That is truly awesome Shellieholly! I've been nearly the same time as you and you can see my weight loss below, but I'm OK with that really.

Pennylane... you are doing just fine. Don't emulate me. Despite what we might be told at group, if a person has always been on the heavy side and suddenly and consistantly drops 3 and 4 lb every week the body shuts down everything it doesn't need. The hormones went batty, I was constantly stressed because my body was stressed by the loses. Sure my book looks great with lots of shiny Slimmer of the Weeks/Months on it but if I was to do it again I wouldn't panic so much about being lower every week. No one else cares, and there isn't a reputation to maintain. There's no reward in it other than it costing less at group.:D In essence it's your journey - your life. :rotfl:

I also have a rather skeptical view on the changes of syn values, but I'll keep that one to myself :o

I thought everyone had a crisp drawer? :rotfl:
    :D
I still have a crisp "basket" though it's moved from my height to the back of the bottom cupboard where the kids can get at it easy and I have to think about it there. :D

FE, I'm no expert at SW chips either. I have more luck with Sweet Potato wedges. If chips are your thing then I'd recommend McCain's Rustic Chips. They are only 1.5 syns for 100g so you could eat a whole bag and still stay within syns!:rotfl:Seriously, they are really big chips and I find a small handful enough alongside the gammon, tomato, mushrooms, mushy peas or whatever else I'm having.

Thank you maman for the rustic chips recommendation. :T I have bought some to try :T I see however that 100g raw is 1 syn but 100g of cooked is 1.5 syns !! so do you weigh them before or after cooking??? It seems very confusing to have two different syn values for the same thing ??? can anyone make any sense of this ??

Basically the cooking of them turns some of the starch to sugars - (or some other form of scientific chemical reaction that equals the same thing..:D)
It's like rhubarb. Syn free unless you cook it.

Given that the manufacturers of a lot of processed foods change the contents from time to time, and reduce pack sizes so there will be some alterations.
Now I am not saying this is what is happening, but me being a total anti-marketing sort...
Would you buy new books and stick to group if you knew that everything stayed the same? You could buy a 10 year old book second hand... why would you need to sign up year on year?
Like I said.. tis just my *down the marketing man* thoughts :D
