Went to my first group today. My biggest worry is I'm about to start a run of 4 night shifts. I have a habit of eating my way through them! Any recipes/ideas for snacky type foods?
My thoughts so far are:-
couscous with red pepper, cucumber, corriander and tomatoes
fruit!
Dip (made with low fat yoghurt, fresh mint and cucmber - do I need garlic in that too, can't remember full recipe) with carrot and cucmber to dip in it
perhaps some spicey cooked cold chicken
SW soup, perhaps look for a recipe I've not tried (done butternut squash and the leek and potato one)
that's maybe enough for one night, so I need more ideas for the next three!!
Thanks in advance0 -
bless me forum buddies for I have synned :-(
was out all day with kids at rugby tournament, got back to school after 5pm so by time I got home and realised we had nothing in to eat (need shopping) that only left takeout. Fully expecting a gain this week as only so many times I can get away without it loading on :-{Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

If you're trying to make tzatziki, I would add lemon juice and garlic.
For a similar really quick dip, I mix a spoon of mint sauce (1 syn per tablespoon, I probably use about half) into some free yoghurt. I usually do this when I want something like tzatziki but don't have any of the other ingredients to hand.0 -
good morning all, my week so far is 50/50.
today is a breakfast event with work but I won't eat much and then work all day - mugshot and 2satsumas for lunch- dinner out tonight if I decide where I want bf to take me!
we have found out that a minimum of every other week bf will be away training for between 2 and 4 days which will be strange but good for him and me too. got plans to finally work on developing my social life! off to a temple spa party on Saturday night nstead of the usual date night and bf will play COD whilst I'm out. and during the day I will go in to a small coffee shop which is the local social hub here to find out what they have on
put on fb that i was looking forward to the party as I need some local friends and a few of them have commented back saying they are looking forward to meeting me so thats made me a little less nervous!
I'm going to use the times that bf is away to try new recipes I know I'll never get him to eat and have a couple of extra bang on plan daysI'm starting to go to the gywhilst he is at training on friday so will also ue him being away to go there an extra time those weeks too.
hope you are all having good weeks and seeing the results you want!************************************

Have followed the SW threads for a long time and think I should contribute a bit more, not fair I take on board all the good ideas and don't give support back. I have done SW on and off for a very long time! I yo yo diet like you would not believe. Jan to July last year lost 3 stone but went on holiday and July to Jan have put 2 back on! Since Jan have lost 1of them again but am hoping if I contribute more I might cope with the maintaining better when I need too.
Nightowl have you thought about SW quiche, cold salad potatoes(nicer than theysound), or if you don't mind less healthy mug shotsTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
Oh, I'm struggling......
been off work this week, jobs around the house getting done. I thought that I would have had a really good week as I had time to cook. I had planned on making a different meal every day and getting a pile of meals in the freezer. It's not been like that!
I have been having a bit of a stressful time in work (so much that I finished up sobbing at my desk and making a complete fool of myself) and I have been enjoying the peace of just pottering around.
I have tidied out all my kitchen cupboards, under the stairs where there were boxes from when I moved house, done all my washing... so its not as if I haven't done anything at all.
BUT, my slippery slope started when I found some Blue WKD and miniature port (left overs from a christmas present) so I had 2 cheeky vimto's. Then had loads of quavers and alpen lights and. That was Tuesday.
Yesterday I convinced myself that I needed to buy some peppers and yoghurts so I went to the the supermarket, and bought the large bag of maltesers that I had really gone for ! Had those, large bowl of cereal and more quavers....was OK up till lunch time then went mad.
I don't know whether its because I live on my own and haven't really spoken to anyone since Saturday (sounds sad I know) and I might be getting a bit bored with the housework - but I needed this week to de-stress.
How do you re-motivate yourself ? I just want to carry on eating...only had an apple so far (its only 7.20 am) but my mind is telling me that I shouldn't even try until I go back to work and get a routine again..I know that's not the right thing to do.
I'm probably just writing this down so that I can get it off my chest...but I need a kick up the backside.
Thanks for listening
