Sorry in advance if this becomes a long essay of a post!
Have been craving carrot sticks and hummus for the past few days so whilst I was in Mr Ms picking up chips, mixed veg and a few other bits I grabbed myself a small bag of carrots, half a cucumber, some lemon and coriander hummus and a lettuce. Couldn't find any cous cous though :S
I've also just been informed that Birds Eye baked to perfection chilli and ginger salmon is free on EE and only £2 in there at the moment! So, as the bf doesn't like fish (well unless it's in batter from a chip shop) going to treat myself to a box - I think you only get two portions a box so wouldn't pay any more than £2 then will grab some cous cous. That way two lunches next week will be the salmon cooled and flaked with cous cous that will be mixed with carrots (raw), sweetcorn, cucumber and shredded lettuce...lush and all free!
I want to get away from sandwiches for lunch as since starting work I've been in a bit of a rut with them so thinking next week will be:
Monday -ham salad wrap + cucumber and carrot sticks with hummus
Tuesday- the salmon and cous cous salad
Wednesday- erm, maybe another ham salad wrap
Thursday-salmon and cous cous salad
Friday - canapes at a work thing over lunch followed by a mugshot
Shocked by the price of some stuff:
Half a cucumber 40p but its tiny
apples are so expensive from the supermarkets same for satsumas
peppers - love these but so pricey
Gonna try and get apples and peppers from Makro at the weekend if I can************************************

However google some more and you will see people say that this is a hoax and to take it with a pinch of salt. Our in house scientologist maybe able to clear this up for us
Might that be me?!Just had a little read and it seems like there is little to worry about - the concern is over methanol (which is poisonous and is further metabolised to formaldehyde ) as a breakdown product of aspartame but as many articles point out, alcoholic drinks and fruit juice contain a small amount of methanol too and the amounts involved in any of these things are way below the safe limit, so it's a bit of scaremongering really. There is an interesting looking paper about it and then a response article which I haven't read yet but will do tomorrow when I can access the full text through work. I know there are other concerns about sweeteners as have been mentioned before, e.g causing sugar cravings, but in terms of formaldehyde I wouldn't worry

We've been told by our consultant if you have rotisserie chicken it has to be synned as they inject them with oil to keep them moist - not sure how true this is and whether it depends on the supermarket, but one member had the Asda ones a few times and gained/STS every time, so could be some truth in it.
Just before I stopped attending group we were told that Morrisons one were 'now free'...always wondered why they weren't all free. Silly me for not thinking about what else they might add************************************

Hi all, hope everyone has had a good day. I've been home from DS school about an hour and have had spag bol with pasta swirls for tea. Had not had any syns all day so practically had to force myself to eat a bag of mini fingers, problem now is I have the taste for them and now want more so I'm off to bed instead! LOL Goodnight! xx
Can someone please have a look to see if the Asda chosen by you chopped tomatoes with chilli and peppers are free or not - we had presumed they were but then as we used them in the spag bol I looked at the ingredients list and they have added sugar so now I'm guessing they are not free - thanks x0 -

Yes there are, we bought chilli and pepper ones and also some garlic ones.....they are in cartons as opposed to tins...
