  • hi all,

thanks for the advice yesterday, first meeting went well!! have a couple of questions though.

    1. Are there any supermarket brand yoghurts that are the same as mullerlight and therefore free?

    2. The leader said we were only allowed 6 weeks off a year from meetings and these had to be booked...is that right?! I pay weekly so should it not be more 'pay as you go'? Can they force you to pay for missed weeks?

    3. how easy is it to change which group you go to?

    4. I have a 'dash' of skimmed milk once a day in a coffee...should/could i therefore have, for example, two thirds of something else, well cheese!!

    Thank you so much!!

    xx

As far as i am aware the only supermarket own brand yogurts that are free are M&S ones which work out more expensive at 2 for £1. The other brands such as Weight Watchers, activia 0% or some Shape yogurts are free. You will have the option to go online to check them out once you have put your pin number in.

Yes it is correct you can only book 6 weeks off during the year - this runs from 1st jan - 31stdec, not a year from when you join. This is to prevent people having weeks off on end and then expecting to be able to come back to group free of charge, The only way round this is for you to become a shift worker where you get a bit more leniency.

It is very easy to swap groups - walk in to new group tell consultant or social team you are wanting to switch to that group and away you go.

If you are only having 1 dash of milk a day then i would have a smaller piece of cheese as your HEA, or have the full amount and syn the milk - you would need to measure it out to syn appropriately.

    Good evening Gang,

Still poorly, but my visits to the bathroom are not so frequent - thank goodness.

Awwhhhh, hugs to you sukeyboo. I can empathise with your situation. :(

I'm afraid I can't offer any helpful advice as nothing has improved for me :o

I've had a bad day, so hope everyone has had better ones than me :)

Thanks for the hugs Banjo - sounds like you need some too, so hugs back to you :)

Didn't have the chat with OH last night as we were both busy with other things but hope to sit down and have a bit of a heart-to-heart about the situation tonight.

    EE for me today:
B: Baked beans on 1 slice of wholemeal bread (800g loaf) - HE 'B', bowl of fresh fruit salad, small juice (2 syns)
L: Couscous with loads of peppers, cherry toms, cucumber, sugar-snap peas and prawns with lime & chilli dressing (all free/SF)
T: Chicken kebabs (cubed chicken marinated in soy sauce, worcestershire sauce & lemon juice, onions, peppers & cherry toms) with boiled rice
S & D: Banana, satsuma, Muller light fat-free greek style Lemon yogurt (1/2 syn - I love these!), cups of tea (milk - HE 'A').

Total syns for the day (as planned at the moment) = 2 1/2 but maybe an Options hot choc this evening (2 syns)

Have a good day everyone :j
  • Thanks Stef, thats really helpful!!

The 6 weeks holiday thing is annually from when you join not from Jan to Dec. I only know that because I have just had 4 weeks off on holiday and when I booked it I was told I couldn't have any more holiday until after July, which was the month I originally joined.

Dread to think how much I've put on during my month's holiday in France with all that lovely, crusty french bread:rotfl:. Back to weigh in on Thursday morning but expecting a hefty gain.

Intresting, as my consultant approached the group at the beginning of Jan telling us our holiday period had just been renewed

Perhaps my consultant is on the fiddle then. She always seems to be adjusting the books to cover for someone being off ill or on holiday that hasnt notified prior to weigh in night. She also seems to have her favourites too many of whom have never lost history when rejoined but have been given new books etc.
