Stef, Hope you get on OK at your appointment - you are so brilliant at 'looking after' everyone else it seems only fair that you should get some help with your stagnant weight loss.

    Well said! Ditto :)

Not entirely sure how much of that show has actually been filmed here. Some certainly. But I am looking forward to it.

Hi, I rejoined slimming world last week. I used to be a regular poster on this thread. I was a target member 18 months ago but have since had a baby and got into lots of bad habits!! I lost my baby weight easily but then stopped breastfeeding and put a stone back on!! I am not working now so I need to do this on even more of a budget than before so looking forward to sharing ideas x
  • Hi All!

Haven't posted for a few days as struggling to find the time to post the menus everyday but back from the first weigh in and delighted to announce I lost 3lbs! Mum lost 4.5lbs so we were slightly above the half stone we hoped to lose between us.

Slimming World rocks. I want to lose at least 2lbs next week, or more, to get me into the 9's. And I'd love Mum to get her half stone!

  • just popped in to catch up with you all

hugs to all that need/want them

Reasonable day for me, no banana at brekkie as it was manky(well bruised and super squishy but i can't stand them like that!) no mug shot at lunch as the salad was so filling! and a snaky biscuit at the mammoth meeting I had to go to this evening :) All in all better than expected

Was going to make sandwiches for my lunch tomorrow but have decided instead to mix my leftover salad with another diced eggs, some torn ham and I cooked some extra pasta tonight to add to it :)

Bought some more bananas so tomorrow:

Breakfast: porridge (HeB) made with 1/2 milk (1/2 HeA) and 1/2 water, 1 banana, 1tsp golden syrup (2syn)
    snack if wanted: satsuma
lunch: pasta salad as mentioned above, satsuma, jelly pot (0.5syn)
Afternoon biscuit: kit kat (5.5syn) [fast becoming the thing for me and one of my colleagues to do to have a cuppa and a biscuit together mid afternoon. we both stand up and stretch/take a little walk around our small office and just use the time to rest our eyes etc :)]
tea: grilled chicken, instant mash, veggies or baked beans (chips for bf)

    total:8syn - leaves me a few in case I fancy a sliver of cake or a sherbet fountain/similar :)

Trying to do a mix of days where I have an extra HeB and ones where i may have a few extra syns just to encourage some variety.
Also trying to make healthy, balanced lunches which each have: a 'main' (noodles/salad/sandwich/leftovers), 'side' (either a biscuit or a few special k crisps) and a 'sweet' (jelly pot/yogurt) and then some fruit and a big drink :)

  • Ok so the verdict...

The Lime and Corriander chicken was very nice although it was very strong in citrus flavours, however we cooked it in it's sauce in the oven so maybe thats why? It is something I will definately try again, it filled me up nicely served with lemon and corriander cous cous even if hubby did clear his plate then ask what was for tea!

So for those of you interested here is a link to the recipe (as found by Stef yesterday)...

    http://www.philadelphia.co.uk/philadelphia3/page?siteid=philadelphia3-prd&locale=uken1&PagecRef=609&rid=14

Though I substituted the Philly for quark and I don't think it took anything away from the finished dish :)

    Did you hear that banjo??:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

First time I've ever heard someone look forward to the big O!!;)I'd suggest you work on a meal plan for the next few weeks. Being busy and stressed is a fatal mixture for just grabbing rubbish. Oh, and beware well-meaning colleagues who bring in goodies to keep the spirits up!

Lol!!! They are in the area dum dumdurrrrrrrrr
I have done loads of prep got my little packs ready for all 21 groups I teach. Im an ICT teacher who is also the HOD for food (?technology (?!!!!) so I have tailored all of my lessons to demoing sw food (they dont know it's sw!!) Thinking dancing muhahahaha and as hubby is most likely going to be away Mummy has said she will look after me lol!!! Shes an ex food tech teacher too. So I'm hoping I have all bases covered including SW!!! :)

Stay away from the scales during the week! I noticed a few people on here say about weight fluctuations when weighing at different times of the day so decided to embark on my own experiment.

I weighed first thing in the morning after that first Wee of the day, scales show 12.5stone, then go through till lunch, eat and weigh scales now show 12.8, wait till around 7pm after tea has been eaten and the scales can go up to 13 stone quite easily yet when i step on the WII board it will tell you that the average person fluctuates by 2.2lb throughout the day.

Instead of going by what the scales say take measurements and go by those, just because the scales arent showing a loss the tape measure may.

Stef hope you are taking your own advice here........ little weight loss but inch lost? xx

Can't complain thanks - probably been unwittingly eating horsemeat but I will eat pretty much anything so not overly fussed :rotfl:

Recipe sounds lovely, would never have though of using stock, thanks. Hope you feel better later on :)

The french do something called boulangerie potatoes which I love, are syn free and moist so you dont need gravey. Slice potatoes layer in oven proof dish, for each layer add some sliced onions, and keep layering. Poor over beef stock - I use a stock pot cover with foil for 40 mins on 200 and leave uncovered in over for further 40 mins delish :)
