My sister has the airfryer and had no complaints over it. She also tried the breville halo but said it was pants as the paddle just smashed everything up.

Think i'm going to invest in a couple of good quality proper non stick baking sheets instead & do my chips the way you do (I think it was you). :rotfl:

I never thought about putting them in the micro first so mine used to take hours to cook. :o

I did my roasties in the oven yesterday, I cut them quite small, sprayed them with Frylight then sprinkled a chicken oxo over them & they were lovely. They did stick to my tin a bit though. :o

I still don't know what to do for dinner tonight & the kids will be home starving soon.

i am going about things the right way and hopefully they can help me out :T Then i can come in here full of more wisdom to impart on you all.

I do hope you get more advice than 'calories out over calories in'.

He doesn't have many friends where we live at the moment and works from home so doesn't get much opportunity to socialise apart from with me at weekends.

Thanks everyone for all your advice - it has helps a lot to 'talk' things through with you all

I was thinking since you posted. There's nothing unusual about your OH wanting to go out or have take-aways at the weekend. It's what most people like to do after a week's work. He's going to have to accept that maybe he's taking the togetherness a bit far!:)

Strangely in January when people were doing that Dryathlon thing lots commented that their friends seemed to be disappointed they weren't drinking and trying to persuade them otherwise. Perhaps they see it as a veiled criticism?

Do call by to 'talk' whenever you want.

Haven't tried any of these - thought about it but am too [STRIKE]stingy[/STRIKE] frugal ;)Personally (and from an MSEr point of view) I think those mesh trays from Poundland are fab - OH specifically requests chips done like that so they must be good!

I'll have to have a look for them next time I go into Town. :money:

    Hi all

Just wanted to pop by & say hello

I am still following SW , just not this thread so much at the moment. Not because i dont want to talk to you lovely lot but i go through phases of being keen to make note of what i am eating, and then not so keen hence why i stopped posting.
Still making (albeit slow) process with SW, have found that i am mostly doing green days with the odd red/EE thrown in along the way.

Although i have to admit red days are becoming less & less of an occurance (mostly because the horse meat scandal has put me off ). This is not because i am against horse meat being eaten, its not a meat that i would choose to eat myself but they are an animal and i accept that some people may like horse meat. I was more concerned that the supermarkets etc just DO NOT have the FOGGIEST what they are selling which to me is worrying. :wall::think:

So i will be sticking to quorn or meat from butchers (which i have luckily been buying anyway for the last 12 months at least) but as im a pauper til Thursday there is no meat on the cards.

While i am here shall post my menu:-

    b - mushroom omelette
Lunch - quorn mince made with onions, mushrooms and peas with mashed potato & covered in gravy (2.5)
Dinner - 2 x frozen veggie bags with rice & quorn pieces cooked in soy sauce, sweet chilli (2.5) and 5 spice

    hex b - bakewell bar & [STRIKE]rocky road hifi[/STRIKE] , hex a - chocolate milk (oatley)
    Snacks - nume yoghurt (1.5), [STRIKE]pack of skips (4.5[/STRIKE]) , ryvita (hex b)with choc philly (4.5)

Thanks Maman, I think we do need to compromise about the 'togetherness' thing - I can see where he is coming from and hopefully he will feel the same!

Stef, Hope you get on OK at your appointment - you are so brilliant at 'looking after' everyone else it seems only fair that you should get some help with your stagnant weight loss.

I will try and get in to the habit of posting my daily meal plans to make sure I am not going too far astray during the week so I can 'bank' a few syns for the weekends :rotfl:

EE for me today (as always):
B: Boiled egg, 1 slice of wholemeal bread (800g loaf) - HE 'B', 1/2 grapefruit & handful of grapes, small fruit juice (2 syns)
L: Large mixed SF salad with baby beetroots & 3 Babybel Light - HE 'A' - balsamic vinegar & lemon juice for dressing
T: Pasta with prawns, tomato & chilli (SW recipe - free) with side salad
S & D: Muller Light 'greek style' fat-free lemon yogurt (1/2 syn) banana, satsuma, green tea, Options hot choc (2 syns)

    Syns for the day = 4 1/2

Good luck to all those with WI today!

I micro mine too - I chop them up, rinse them, put them in one of those big vented lid plastic containers (probably Poundland or Home Bargains too but does the job), blast em on high for 5 mins then spread them out on the mesh tray, spray them with frylight and do them on about 200 for 15-20 mins with a shake halfway through. Never had any complaints! :)

  • I see some of you have been chatting about roasties.
Here is the recipe I use. I can't remember where I got it, but they do come out lovely.
Put your tatties in your roasting pan, raw. 250mls chicken stock-pour around the tatties.
Spray the exposed tops with Frylite.
Bung in oven and cook for around 45 mins ish.
    They are quite yummy.

Been for 2nd lot of blood tests. I now have matching holes in each arm. (And probably not much blood left). Having to have a Lucozade as feeling a bit light-headed and queasy _pale_
