I've also found that Tesco sell a <5% fat version of pork mince, any ideas if this can this be used freely like other lean meats or do you think it would have a syn value (again, the book only mentions 8% fat which is syned).
If no-one can help, then I'll ask at group on Wed and post a reply, incase anyone else would be interested.

Well, I'd better get on with it, good luck to everyone. xx

If it is extra lean pork mince (and it sounds like it is) then it is free :)

    Weight loss - Apr '12 -Sept '13: 95lb
  • Morning all,

First i would like to say

    STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALES

The reason you 'normally' go to group is so that you get weighed at the same time & same day once per week - this is for a reason!

I used to be a serial scale hopper & would either beat myself up for 'gaining' or thinking i could get away with it if it was showing a good loss - i got DH to hide them - i eventually found them - & now they are round my mums so i can't weigh every time i go to the bathroom!

    :: Rant over ::

Really struggling with SW at the moment with morning sickness - not actually been sick, but just continuously nauseaous. Snacking throughout the day makes me feel better - but i'm running out of ideas

I'm currently snacking on dry bran flakes (heb) - fruit doesn't appeal at all (someone in the office had a banana last week & i wanted to barf:eek:) I have to force yogurts down

Pasta i make for lunches usually doesn't get eaten (it looks & smells revolting after a couple of days!) i am sad to say that i have wasted food recently  - really kicking myself for that as i NEVER waste food - always manage to find a use for it

So any ideas of 'dry/bland' stuff i can snack on during the day to keep to SW as much as possible would be fab

My dinners are usually good - loving cottage pies, bubble & squeak, meat & potato dinners - nothing too tomatoey - only ate half the spagetti & meatballs i made on Saturday - but have it in the fridge so i can heat up for dinner tonight after WI

Also keep debating whether to continue paying to go to group during pregnancy as i will be paying to be told i have put on or STS - not really motivating is it? I know it is a natural part of pregnancy to put on weight (not by eating for two!), but it is still getting me down :(

Hugs to TIE, get well soon Banjo & Rob & congrats to all you losers!

MSG is salt so from sounds of it your spices will be free.

BCS Do you follow any of the slimming world meal plans or do you plan your own meals? The next four days are back to basics for me following the SE meal plan on the website so there will be tantrums on thursday night if i dont see a loss.

WIZKID when planning your meals try looking at the SS symbols at the side of foods to speed up losses as a lot of the things you have dont have a speed symbol on them.

For everyone else that has stuggles this weekend grab hold of those horses and reign them in so you can jump back on that wagon. Today is the start of a new day in a new week, we all know we can do this [virtual kicks to backsides to all in need].
Stef, give me a few ss foods please. I thought tomatoes lettuce carrots cauli bluberries melon are s s ? there are some veggies I don't like I am a bit faddy. I struggle a bit with vegicon13.gif.

It sucks to be me today, too! :(

All through last week I was feeling as light as a feather and with extra spring in my step. I saw some new lows on the bathroom scales and was confident of showing a good loss for my 'official' Monday morning weigh-in.

Instead of that, it seems this week my body has other ideas and I am feeling so heavy and bloated - the bathroom scales are telling me I now weigh 1lb more than when I started. I know I had a bad night on Saturday but really can't see how that would account for a fluctuation of five pounds in a matter of a few days.

    I'll check again tomorrow.
please put your bathroom scales on freegle ... or lock them away

its not good to keep measuring yourself because you get all excited or all to negative and they are not 100% accurate anyway

Yes, I know the feeling, mine is running alongside you - working, so had packed lunch provided - HUGE roll with ham, salad, then crisps, choc bisc, profiterole and jam doughnut. Healthy or what? Anyway, halved the roll and filled it with the salad but caved in to the lure of the brick-like jam doughnut which I was still digesting at 11pm last night!

I've found mine and got back on this morning, hope you have too :)

    Good morning everyone

I apologise in advance for the essay but here goes ……

I don’t post very often but read all the time (I am quite a shy person and not very good at expressing myself).

I need some advice from you lovely helpful bunch :T

I have been at my target for several months – I don’t go to group for two reasons, one is as I have just mentioned, I am not very good with large groups of people and two, there isn’t one nearby at a convenient time for me.

My big problem is I think similar to Banjo’s – my OH seems to want to sabotage my weight loss. All week I am absolutely fine sticking to SW plan as I am in control of all my meals - I do all the cooking – weekends are a disaster as we tend to either eat out or get take-aways etc. He gets funny with me if I don’t eat the same things as him – I get the ‘if you’re not eating/drinking it then I won’t have it either’ attitude but then when I start to put a few lbs back on (which I have done in the last few weeks) he comments that I am looking a bit ‘podgy!’. It seems I can’t win. My target weight is 8st 4lb but over the last few weeks I have gone back up to 8st 9lb and although I know that may seem low to other people I do feel bigger at that weight and my size 10’s are starting to feel uncomfortable.

I know deep down that it is up to me to control what I put in my mouth but it is so difficult when it creates an awkward situation at home – I tend to just give in and eat/drink whatever he wants just for a quiet life :(

Once again, sorry for the rant
I understand it must be difficult , but i think you need to regain some control , by all means have the takeaways and let him eat what he wants but you need to choose healthy options where possible.

i am very lucky in that my oh , cooks slimming world meals for me and we don't buy anything not free or superfree ... (im cruel)

although i did let him buy some sainsburys finest cake ...it was 10p on the proviso he kept it in his car and didnt eat it in front of me because its 12 syns for a serving ...(suggests serves 6) but i know i could happily polish off half so that would be 3 servings
