oooh, just remembered, I have a question!! Are wholemeal pittas still allowed as a HEB? I can't find them listed but it does say 60g of wholemeal bread and they weigh 60g?!
  • Into my 7th week on slimming world and true to form have had a bad week (read that most women struggle after 6 weeks on diet), scales tomorrow so all will be revealed! Just wanted to ask if anyone on here have had stomach problems, wind and bloating and running to the loo after eating Mu**erlight yogurts. I stopped eating them two weeks ago and the problem has gone. I also found that I was craving sweetness something I have never done (cheese is my downfall) Read online that artificial 'fillers' are to blame.

Pittas were taken off at the start of the new books being dished out. You cant swap them either to use up your HEB as theres not enough fibre in them and the mini M&S ones now are cooked using oil.
I know all about inch loss and the weeks i dont get a loss i dont have any inches disappear, it seems that inch losses are noticed around the half stone - stone markers now.

Im glad to hear too that as a food tech teacher you are getting the kids on board with SW. My son is doing food for g.c.s.e. and has chosen the healthy eating option so is using up sw recipes to use for his presentations.

Fizzlebottom there has been a lot of research done on Aspartame causing binge eating as it triggers chemicals in the brain to craze sweet sugary foods. The other thing with yogurts especially those with live cultures are that they alter the flora in your gut so the initial few days/weeks your stomach is getting used to these new things being present so can cause upset and the same can happen when you stop eating them as your gut readjusts to having no extra live cultures to help settle it. I found this out trialling some activia yogurts when they first came on the market.

    Morning all,

Well done Miss I and Rob on your fab results!

Eashby - I've had that in a restaurant and loved it but never thought to make it myself, will definitely try it, thanks!

Half a pound off for me this week, which I'm ok with despite being really good as it is * week. Definitely expecting it to come off for next week though - need 2.5 for my next shiny sticker and I want it next week! Also this would get me back on track of projected losses to get me to target by Sept. Have bullied OH into walking to and from work tomorrow and Friday so hopefully that will help. Got a wine tasting night on Sat and based on last time it'll be 4 glasses each, probably small but I'm going to allow for 4x175ml just in case, so will save 24 syns through the week.

    EE today:
    B: Porridge (B), milk (A), banana
    L: L/O scouse, satsuma
T: Not sure yet - OH wants beans on toast so I can have whatever I fancy - possibly salmon, JP and roast veg, hmmm... If so, 2.5 for butter
    S: WW yogurt, Freddo (5)

Have a good day all :)

ETA: Just seen a fish pie recipe on the SW website - sounds yummy so fish pie it is as long as I have some fish in the freezer!

you need to stop reading lol .. its dangerous

seriously if you stop thinking of it as a diet and more as a lifestyle change you will find things a lot easier

  • I feel for you! I had the same sort of morning sickness when I was pregnant (ectopic, unfortunately - long time ago now though) especially the bananas thing.

The problem with dry/bland is that they're mostly grain based on synned once you're over HEB allowance. But the only food I could face during the day was rich tea biscuits. They're 2 syns each, so not too bad all things considered.

Maybe popcorn if you can handle the salt? Synned again obviously, but without fat you can get a pretty big bag for about 5 syns which could last for ages if you're just nibbling through the day like I was.

I hadn't thought of popcorn - thank you - i did go through a spell of making my own - will have to make some more - i have seen a recipe for black pepper & parmesan popcorn - perfect to get my extra hea into me aswell!

After my worry gutting about not following SW properly because of the mroning sickness - i was pleasantly surprised to get a 2lb loss this week :j

I think it might have something to do with reduced portion sizes at meal times (can't eat as much as i used to) and eating more snacks during day - if i had managed to stay in my syns & snacked on SF - imagine what the loss would be :o

Found some raisins at Asda last night which are gorgeous - it is the nakd range & the lime infused raisins - taste just like fruit pastelles & only 3.5syns per pack (although they are 62p per pack too!) - perfect for at the desk as quite alot in packet

Keep up the good work x
  • STS for me last night. Happy with it tbh a i was expecting a gain (perhaps the cycling is helping :D) .

Class over ran by 30 minutes last night :eek:as there was a lot of people who seem to be having issues currently (cold, grey, damp weather do we think???certainly an issue for me at the moment :()

Its the first time that i have actually enjoyed being there and found it useful to hear that others have the same problems. We also had about 5 people stay last night for the first time in ages. There were many useful tips doled out to people struggling.. It was worth getting home a wee bit later.

    Green for me today -

b - 2 slices of WM 400g toast (hex b) with 1/2 Hex a low fat cream cheese
L - rice fusions (2) with lamb style peices (free) and bag of veggies.
D - Jacket spud with spag hoops and hex a low fat cheddar

snacks - pineapple, pack of crisps (4.5), low fat yog (1.5) , rocky road hi fi light (hex b), freddo (5)

please put your bathroom scales on freegle ... or lock them away

its not good to keep measuring yourself because you get all excited or all to negative and they are not 100% accurate anyway

I'm doing online and only doing my official weigh-in to record online with SW. I have been taking the reading at the same time each Monday morning so there should not be too much variation.

I may be proven wrong of course, but am reasonably satisfied that it's not about the scales or the frequency of weighing myself that is showing as a massive 'gain' this week. I can only think that it must be due to other factors, possibly a reaction to something I ate, as I still have this horrid bloated and uncomfortable feeling today.
