They are selling systema microwave soup mugs for £2.62 each, then the remaining spend you can buy the tinned veggies for the tomato soup, so 2 tins of toms, 2 tins of beans, 2 tins of carrots possible a jar of pickled onions and some 10p stock cubes so people have the means to take soup to work if they can micro it.
I know one of our stand in consultants has a large group and says she buys things like the hand held blender wands as prizes to encourage making soups as people dont want to pay out to buy kitchen items if they can avoid it so winning it is more of an incentive.
That is a great idea, wish our group did that. I can recommend the Argos value hand blender, fab for just over £42011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

So I survived my first day…..
Breakfast: 2 x Weetabix (B) with sweetner
Snack: Mullerlight vanilla and fruit salad
Lunch: 2 egg omelette with onion and red pepper
Snack: Apple and 30g cheddar cheese (A)
Dinner: Chicken, egg noodles and stir fry veg
9 Syns: 2 x dash of milk for drinks @ 0.5 syn = 1 syn / options hot chocolate 2 syns / olive oil for cooking 6 syns (I really need to buy some fry light).
Can I just double check that egg noodles are part of the free food? It lists noodles as plain or dried. I presume these are plain but just wanted to double check.
I did find myself really hungry at parts of the day so I think I need to beef up some of my meals with the superfree foods. Also I need to make sure I have plenty of healthy snack options as I’m more of a grazer. I wont be able to finish a big meal but I’ll feel hungry an hour after dinner.
I also need to start drinking more fluids. I’m really bad for not drinking enough and yesterday was particularly bad. I had a glass of squash, cup of tea and cup of hot chocolate and that was it. In fact I’ve just realised I’ve not drunk anything at all today so I’m off to grab a glass of water.0 -
I think SW is only expensive if you are the only one in the household that is following it. When you produce the meals as a family it is no more expensive than a normal shop, in fact i would even go so far as saying it is cheaper because you are not buying all the choc, biscuits and crisps that would normally bump the costs up. I buy the 3 for £10 meats from sainsburys that are all from the extra lean range, 2 packs of the EL cumberland sausages @ £1.99 each and my bacon from aldi which is around £1.59. So £20 on meat then the remainder goes on yogurts, one loaf of nimble, box of weetabix, milk, fruit and veg and any spices or stocks that need replenishing. That feeds 3 of us most the time unless my daughter is eating with us. So normally the fourth meal would roll over as lunch to the next day for oen of us.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Oh, does anyone have the recipe for the bacon and lentil soup? I looked at the recipes on the members online section and I couldn't find it.0

Mealwise for myself i have found my normal time to get peckish is around 9pm so have been saving my HEB till then to have a couple of slices of toast with 2 tsp of honey - 2 syns, Breakfast would either be a bowl of defrosted frozen berries and yogurt or a fry up. I find that if i have the higher protein breakfasts so omlettes or the fry ups my hunger stays at bay longer so i can have a lighter lunch of soup or a mugshot and make it through till tea without having to graze.
As for your question on the noodles as long as they are dried noodles/pastas they are free, its the fresh chilled ones that arent because they are coated in oil to stop them sticking together.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Fannyanna,
Did you eat the weekabix dry?? I can't see that you used any milk allowance.
And yes unless you are eating veg that you are not showing you need to really up the superfree.
Not sure about noodles, I would really like it if egg noodles were free but I don't think they are.0 -

I have the weetabix with boiled water.
Yes, the only veg I had yesterday was the little bit in my omlette at lunch and then the veg that I had in my stir fry.
The noodles are bugging me now as I can't even find them on the online syn tool. I can ask the consultant when I go for my first weigh in.0 -

You also need to ensure that 1/3rd of each meal is superfree or you wont see the weight coming off.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

So sorry, I completely missed your first response
I like your idea of a high protein breakfast. I need to start getting up a bit earlier so that I can prepapre and eat breakfast at home. I currently just take something with me that I can make/eat at work.
I know I'm a snacker but other than that I think I just need to accept that it will probably take me a few weeks to figure out what works for me and doesn't. I've spent so long eating junk that I've lost touch with what a healthy diet is.
Ah yes I remember now that fresh pasta is not free so the egg noodles will definately have syn values. I did type egg noodles into the tool but nothing came up. If I just type noodles the closest thing that comes up is "pre-prepared/ready to use" at 2 syns per 100g boiled.0 -

I'm just eating some now - didn't use a recipe but can tell you what i put in mine:
About a mugful of red lentils
1 large onion
4 carrots
4 cloves garlic
1 green, 1 red & 1 yellow pepper
2 small potatoes
3 rashers bacon, fat removed and chopped
2 veg stock cubes
Boil the lentils in plenty of water for about 10 mins, then drain and set aside. Peel and chop veg. Fry the bacon in frylight (can do in lentil pan) then add rest of veg and a drop of boiling water. Fry for a few mins then add more boiling water and stock cubes and simmer. When veg is soft, add the lentils and cook for a few more minutes. Blend when cool and add more water if rquired. This made 5 big portions.2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]
