    Love your menu ! :j

Day 3 of Dryathlon for me too. :T Found myself looking for a drink on new year's day evening but am fine today and last night (despite catching up with friends who were drinking alcohol!).

Well done to you! I have my lime and soda in a wine glass :o lol

Looking at my menu, does it look ok? I realised after I'd eaten tea that I'd just had the spag bol with no extra SF
There is also a curly wurly waving to me from inside the fridge  and I know I have plenty of syns left, but am trying to get out of the habit of having something every night

Thanks for that link shellie, lots more ideas :j

Going to have a late breakfast now: bacon, tomato, maybe even red onion, bread (hope I've got wholemeal not wholegrain...)

Will try and do a soup lunchtime. It's from the Comfort booklet in the January magazine. Carrot, coriander and red lentils. If it's good I'll make that up in batches.

For dinner, it's either cottage pie (if the meat that's been hanging around looks ok) or paella (again from that recipe booklet) or some pasta thing (again from that recipe booklet) but I've swopped aubergines for courgettes. Just need to check courgettes* are free or superfree.

    :j

    Edit: courgettes are superfree! :)

It's very good soup! I've made it a couple of times but I didn't use quite as many lentils as they suggested.

Hi all..well done on your commitment to a healthy slimmer future and happy new year.

Hope you don't mind me asking but why are your daily menu's so low in protein? If meat /eggs/cheese/fish/protein are encouraged why are most of you eating so little? I don't understand...unless its because they are expensive. Thanks

Yes your menu looks fine. Plenty of superfree with your choice of fruit etc. If you included superfree in your spag bol then not essential to add more but bear in mind if weight loss slows down/stalls in the future. Important thing is variety and also to have your syns. - at least 5 a day. Perhaps have chocolate syns every other day ?

Hubby cooked this this evening http://www.minimins.com/slimming-world-recipes/182944-melanzanne-alla-parmigiana.html
We swopped courgettes for aubergines and didn't add sweetener. It was AMAZING! Felt like a lasagne but a healthy version. I'm now so full. Hubby was impressed and he is a hard one to please food wise. He doesn't need to lose weight so I've instructed him to eat extra. Right now he's whipping xmas double cream to have with scones. (big sigh!) But I'm distracting myself on here. I'd love to had a big lose at the start of the year so I'm focusing on that.

Definitely going to buy the magazine more this year, just to keep ideas for recipes coming in. I know some of them are re-hashed from books but that's ok.

It's also so useful to read what other people are eating on here too to give me ideas.

Did a long walk today, about 30 minutes. It was hard but the dog acted as a useful pull along (pulling me along).

I have a confession. I was out today and the time just vanished and before I knew it, it was 2pm and I was starving. Completely my own fault ....... called in at a small garage with very little choice of things to eat. Sweets, chocolates, crisps, sandwiches, sausage rolls etc. Nothing remotely healthy. I picked up a pack of 2 minipork pies (I know, I know!:().

They were about 4cm each across and very tiny. I tried the first one and the pastry tasted very fatty. I ate it but I honestly didn't enjoy it and took a bite fom the second and threw it out for the birds. It taught me a valuable lesson - always have something in the car for when this happens.

My palate must have changed completely since being on SW because it tasted like I was eating lard and I certainly won't ever eat those again.

I cam home and had a muller yoghurt and a banana and then did a 2mile fast walk because I felt so guilty.

Ainsley Harriet Cous cous (syns but only a couple) with salad bits mixed through. Nice recipe in this month's mag for cous cous with other bits:T

HEB of bread with cold bacon medalions (pricey but saves the faff of cutting off the fat) (me = lazy!), sweet chilli sauce (syns) and HEA of a blue cheese spread (again name escapes me and will be back with details!!)

I am resisting the pub as I am trying to not drink this month. I still have a small treatsworth of Syns to use, it's actually not that hard whilst at home I am trying to work out how to do it when travelling especially overnight...
