Not necessarily, if you don't eat enough you can put on weight as your body holds on to the fat as it doesn't know when the next meal is coming IYKWIM. I think most of us can say when we've been ill and not had much appetite then we've had a gain at WI. I can only suggest you post your food diary daily and we can see how much you are eating. If need be we can make suggestions to help improve it. Hope that helps. Keep the Faith :A

 MissP good to see you.

I know this sounds strange but I'm hoping for a small gain tomorrow to get back into my target range. The trouble is my mindset/meal planning/shopping/cooking are so firmly ingrained in SW that I automatically have SW meals. It's such a great way to eat healthily and keep weight in check.

Today I've had baked beans for breakfast and have syn free chilli planned for supper. Not hungry enough for lunch yet.

I haven't bought any SW recipe books. I find most of them are compilations of recipes that have been in magazines or you can find on-line. To be honest, what I tend to do mostly is google a 'normal' recipe and then adapt.

Hope everyone's having a good SW day, hugs to those feeling poorly.
  • afternoon!!

well today is going to be a bleh day i can feel it.... my friends wee baby that i was minding last week had a bad cold and have dutifully managed to catch it. thankfully i sound worse than i am, but i cant breathe through my nose which is annoying haha :rotfl:

tbh food hasn't even crossed my mind today so far - simply because i cant smell anything at all so its put a halt on my appetite (on that note does anyone know any decongestant type stuff that ACTUALLY works? beechams flu plus are rather naff, as is boots own brand - which my boss swears by apparently)

WI tomorrow night EEEEEEEEEKKK  i reaaaaaallly hope i have a good loss.. at the min depending on how today and tomorrow morning goes, im probably looking at 3lbs max which is fine, but secretly hoped for more (cant be greedy though can i :rotfl:)

on another note, a friend and i are going to my old work for lunch on sunday, and im wondering how to work around the main course. its kind of like a buffet, but from working there for years i know that all the veg are drenched in butter and the roasties are deep fried in veg oil. is there any way to work around this?
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

No it's at the front. Doc has said it's my thyroid, but at this point we don't actually know what's wrong with it. Could be something, could be nothing. Can't even fit me in for the fasting blood tests I need for a week and a half, and then I have to wait for an appointment for an ultrasound. :(
Don't think it's going to be a quick diagnosis!
Hope you have'nt long to wait. Will be thinking of you.:)

  • Well day 2 today! Day 1 was ok, I was just a bit worried that I might be eating too much fruit and felt that I was having to force myself to eat some of the superfree foods (the 1/3rd with every meal was hard, I felt stuffed) and it was hard for me to drink more milk than I'm used to (it was my healthy A). I'm sure I'll get used to it, it just seems strange to eat more than usual on a weight loss plan!

    Today's menu;

Breakfast; 35g porridge made with skimmed milk (both healthy extras) with chopped banana (SF) and maple syrup (1 syn)

Lunch; Spicy Chicken Drumsticks (all fat and skin removed) with SW Chips and Salad (SF).

Dinner; Mixed Bean Tex-Mex Chilli (from the SW Mag) with Brown Rice and Spinach (SF).

Snacks: Free From Rich Tea Biscuit 2.5 syns, Coffee Caramel Syrup in my HM latte 2 syns, Free From Fruit Slice 7 syns as a treat before bedtime. So total 12.5 syns for the day.

If I'm hungry at any other point I'll have fruit and a mullerlight.

I made a SW quiche last night and had it for my lunch with some lettuce today and it was really, really nice.

It's made using cottage cheese (which I normally don't like) but as a quiche it tastes really nice. It's also really simple to make.

    300g cottage cheese
    3 slices of bacon
    3 slices of cooked ham
    1/2 onion
    3 eggs

You fry (using frylight) the onion and bacon.
    Whisk the eggs together.
Then add all the ingrediants together.
Put it into a dish and stick it in the oven.
I had it on gas mark 6 and it took a while to cook it so I might try increasing the heat next time to see if it will cook in 25/30 minutes.

And unless I'm mistaken the quiche is free on extra easy :)
