    Recipe? Please :)

Cornish pastie recipe as promised x

    · Cornish Pasty

Used to be Syn free but now pitta bread is NOT a healthy B choice SO WILL NEED TO BE SYNNED. Makes 4 largeones or 8 mini ones.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED: Serves 4

4 wholemeal pitta bread or 8 mini wholemeal pitta breads

200g of extra lean mince beef.

    150g carrots.

    150g swede.

    1 small onion.

1 egg beaten (for brushing the top)

    Beef stock cube.

    1tsp paprika.

salt and pepper to taste. (white pepper works best)

    METHOD:

Dice all the vegetables into small bits boil till soft, then drain. Cookthe minced beef in a pan with beef stock made up with about 100mls of water.(add paprika and salt and pepper) Put the mince and half the vegetablesinto a blender and blitz until a smooth paste. Put the blitzed mix in abowl and mix in the rest of the vegetables to the paste. Heat up thepitta's in the oven for about 3mins (so they are easy to cut open) Slicepitta's down the side and fill with the mix. Brush the finished pastieswith egg and cook in the oven until brown (about 15-20mins.)

Pasties sound good even if they are synned now - will give those a go.
I am so mad with myself as I had the best of intentions this week but have been ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH - have eaten cake every day. I know I will have to pay on Thursday - something I do not want to do - even if I try a bit of damage limitation tomorrow not sure it will do any good....... Got to get back within target range.
    January spends - £587.58
  • I haven't had a syn all day.

Wife has opened a luxury stollen from Christmas ..... I so much fancy a nice glass of red wine with a piece of that!

    I'm all Mullered out
  • It's okay. Temptation avoided and I'm now safely tucked-up in bed.

It'll be worth it this Summer when the ladies admire my six pack :p
