Hi, thanks to everyone who understands and is helping me overcome my problem. My E E Today is. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

B hx B porridge 1/2 Water 1/2 milk hx A. OTHER HALF as in brews.
    Apple and a HUGE plum.
    S piece of fruit/melon
L Celery Soup h/m. 1 Ryvita and spread 2 syns banana
    S Crumpet and spread 4syns.
    D Steak and dumplings (1 for me 2syns) rice,carrots rice cauli,broccoli, peas Gravy 4syns. satsuma x2
Supper 1 mug low fat cocoa made with water and a little milk Syns not known as yet.
6 glasses of water..12 syns as yet.
If you are wanting to tighten your belt and know you are covered from all angles have you checked the correct syn value for your crumpets? I only ask because my husband put some in our trolley last week and when i noticed i went back to the bakery section and checked the calorie content on all the different varities available and the 'basics/smart price' ones were the lowest calorie wise. Looking at syns online if you are buying branded ones such as kingsmill/warburtons these are 5syns each. Smartprice ones are 3syns each. Are you weighing out your butter/spread each time as this will vary drastically. I have swapped to flora extra light at 1syn per 10g where as some of the other ones can be as much as 3 syns for the same amount.
What dumplings are you using? If premade these are between 6.5syns and 9 syns each.
Once you know what make cocoa you are having we can advise further.
Hope this helps highlight some areas where you may be going over on syns which is slowing your weight loss down.

    Hi all!

    Getting to grips with SW. Sat down last night and made a menu plan for the week. Today's menu is probably the worst/unhealthiest because I'm going grocery shopping later today so it's a case of using up what we've got today;

Breakfast: 35g Gluten Free Cereal and skimmed milk (healthy extras).
Mango and Pineapple fingers and a herbal tea.

Lunch: 4 Glutafin High Fibre Crackers (4.5 syns) and 100g Asda Cottage Cheese with Pineapple (1.5 syns but needed used up!). An apple.

Dinner: Egg, SW Chips and Beans. Need to add some SFF to this so may make a small side salad to go with it or some mushrooms.

Snacks: 1 banana (if I feel like it!), 1 Gluten Free Rich Tea Biscuit (2.5 syns! And it's TINY!), 1 sugar in my mid morning latte made with milk from my allowance (1 syn).
Not looking bad at all. Try and have your banana after your lunch to make up your 1/3rd SF. Again make sure what ever veg/salad you go for with your evening meal is also balanced with 1/3rd SF and you will be well on track. Hope it all goes well for you :)

Stef knows her stuff, should the Ryvita be synned as you have already had HxB? Any additional milk you use in your cocoa should also be synned?

I noticed this last week as I usually have a wholemeal pitta as HEB when I do green days. It does say 60g any wholemeal bread though - I wonder if a pitta could count as that if the weight was right? Personally I am going to keep having them BUT I will say again to any newbies/people not quite sure of the plan, do as I say not as I do! ;)

There isnt as much fibre in them as the WM roll hence why they have been taken off and the M&S ones say they are cooked with sunflower oil.

Ah I see. I wonder why they were on the list in the first place then? Looking at some of the other wholemeal loaves there's little difference in fibre between those and the pittas so I'm not sure where the cutoff is. I have the Asda pittas, which used to be one of the few specified. Oh well, I'm still having them!

    Hi Stef,

I've been using 2 of these rolls as my Hex B in the past.

The optimising book I got in my Starter Pack this year states:

    healthy extra b choices
    bread
Wholemeal bread is a Healthy Extra because its higher in fibre than other bread

60g of any wholemeal bread (my emphasis)
    60g wholemeal roll

So the M&S mini wholemeal sub rolls should be okay as long as not more than 60g?

Edit: I believe they are 27g each.
