  • My menu so far today...

B - Scrambled eggs, banana, Milk for tea during the day (A)

L - Pasta and sauce cheese and leek 1 syn, Oaty pancakes (oats = B)

T - Cheesy mash (A) with spring onions and chives, beans and 3 x Linda McCartney veggie sausages 6 syns

Syns for the day so far 7

Will have my last oaty pancake in a bit then if I'm still hungry (which I very much doubt) I might have a mini fudge bar at 5 syns :)
  • I have to add, although I only found this page yesterday I feel very at home already - thanks for making me feel welcome - I'm sure this will help me reach my target 6lb lost so far (in two weeks) another 2 stone to go :)

Definitely a doable target Blodwen and :T on your loss.

These pancakes were being discussed in group last week:

    You need....

    1 Egg
    6 tbsps of sweetnener (I checked:eek:)
1 tsp of vanilla essence of vanilla essence

Separate the white from the yolk and put into separate bowls, Whisk the egg white and 3 tbsps of sweetner until peaks.
In the other bowl add the vanilla essence, the rest of sweetener to the yolk then fold the yolk mixture into the egg white mixture.
Heat a frying pan with frylight, add the mix and spread as you would a normal pancake ( two out of this recipe) after a few mins flip over.
    lovely pancakes mmm

    Hi All

My girlfriend is on slimming world and just wondered if any one had any good ideas of recipes i could cook for Thursday which are low in syns?

Hi Gaz you might like to try this for a starter...it's something I made up myself but it really is very nice and only has 3 1/2 syns per portion :)

    Cheese and chilli stuffed mushrooms

    for two people

Take some quark and mix in a bowl with 5 laughing cow triangles. Add in some very finely chopped chiilies (don't forget to take out all the seeds  ) Add this mixture on top of 4 up turned large flat mushrooms then cook in the oven till slightly browned - enjoy!

(syn values based on not using cheese triangles as an a choice and also having two large mushrooms each, however if you wanted to make this for four people and just have one mushroom each then the syns would only be 1 1/2 each)

going to try it tomorrow, my mini Tesco had a load of reduced price veggies when I got the pancake mix earlier, got some leeks for that and a soup.. let us know how it goes :)

ohh, the low low mature spread is BOGOF in Tesco too!

DH raved about the chicken & leek pie. I thought it was a tasty alternative to cottage/shepherds pie and great for using up LO chicken from Sunday roast. Very filling comfort food for a cold night. I used a HEA for crunchy cheese on top instead of an egg glaze but without that it would have been completely syn free. (trouble was my head kept comparing with M&S chicken and leek shortcrust pie).
