I feel hungry today so today looks like this:

    B. Muller light vanilla yog with 30g muesli Hex B
    L. Beef, salad leaves, tomatoes, beetroot and boiled egg.
    D. Chicken stew with broccoli.

    SS milk in coffees.

Looks like I WILL have a SW friendly Valentines after all. My wife has just texted me that she is going to a works do on Valentines. Apart from the short notice, I'm peeved, I mean what sort of works Valentines do is that where no spouses/partners allowed?

I've got a good mind to eat all the fillet steak myself :(

:lipsrseal:lipsrseal:lipsrseal Absolutely no comment!! But the glory of SW is that you could have all the fillet steak yourself!:D

Glad to hear you're feeling hungry and having a proper day's food (at last!;)).

Good morning to our growing band

Well it's wet and windy and rather gloomy here. I feel hungry today after my swim, so today looks like this:

    L. Beef, salad leaves, tomatoes, beetroot and boiled egg.
    D. Chicken stew with broccoli.

I'll follow Maman's lead and say no comment, other than that's more like it re. food! :)

Banjo - I just wanted to say that I think you're doing really well sticking to the plan. I struggle sometimes and the support that I get from my Husband is really helpful. If I didn't have that support I'd struggle. God knows what I'd be like if he was trying to sabotage me.

It sounds like your support system isn't that great (sorry if that offends) but the fact you're able to rise above it all and carry on what you're doing is brilliant.

  • I only have one top that isn't baggy now. Wearing it today, lots of compliments including one from someone who "didn't recognise" me. So I think I need to do some shopping for more things that fit properly. Either that, or I'll just start wearing this one every day. :D

    EE today...
Breakfast - Porridge (HEB, made with water) with berries and a banana
Lunch - Chicken and spinach cous cous salad (premade from local deli, it didn't seem to have any oil but going to estimate 3 to be on the safe side). Teaspoon of dressing (0.5)
Snack - Apple and lactofree cheese (HEA)
Dinner - Swedish meatballs from the SW calendar. I'll need to check the syns when I get home, but assuming it's free or fairly low as they usually are.
Pudding - May have room for a treat depending on dinner's syn count. Otherwise FF yoghurt (0.5)

DH is very cute, he's decided that we have to have the "meal of the month" from the calendar. :o

  • Thanks for your kind words all. (Its the kids that keep me going :))

It's WI in the morning and the Consultant has said she has a little Valentine treat for each of us. Wonder what it is? :o
    Can't wait LOL

Well I'm so stuffed from lunch, don't feel like eating at all. I put a bit of curry powder on my boiled egg and it seems to have bloated me.

Looking forward to the :footie::footie::footie: tonight.

Have a good night all

    Morning all,

Stef - I'll ask my OH see if he knows anything about this- I've probably said before that his PhD was in obesity biochemistry so I know (I had to proofread his thesis) that obesity creates an inflammatory state but I'm not sure if it works in reverse, i.e. the inflammation affecting weight loss. I'll report back what he says.

I take Omega 3 rich oils (especially EPA) daily as I have creaky joints and also it's meant to help with keratosis pilaris which I've had for years. (Excuse the science coming, but you seem to have already done a fair bit of background research so may be interesting) My job before last was researching how n-3 fatty acids (mainly EPA) are effective in arthritis - the bit above about eicosanoids is absolutely true, n-3s act by diverting a pathway that would normally be very inflammatory (from n-6 FAs) down a less inflammatory route, and also suppress the production of pro-inflammatory agents. If inflammation does prevent weight loss then it would stand to reason that taking n-3s will help. Tbh I would take them anyway, they have a whole host of benefits :)

Anyway, enough of that, too much like work ;) EE today:
    B: Porridge (B), milk (A), banana
L: New potatoes, bolognese sauce, carrots
T: Beef stir fry and egg fried rice
S: Freddo (5), maybe something else

OH has a friend coming for the weekend and they want to go for a curry and a few drinks, so am saving a few syns for that. Won't be a big night out though, thank God!

Have a good day folks :)

Does the Omega 3 actually do anything for keratosis pilaris? My son has it and even though it doesn't bother him it would be great if something could make it fade a bit. He was given a cream when he was much younger but that didn't work so we haven't bothered with anything else.

Banjo its probably best we don't comment but I agree with you,

seems odd Valentines not including partners getsmiley.php?show=5526
you may prefer to be on your own what with curried egg getsmiley.php?show=5549
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
