we will both eat anything :-/
i have lots of SW cookbooks at home just wondered if anyone had any other ideas on here.
a beef and onion pie would be nice maybe?
lots on my groups FB page are raving about the chicken and leek pie from the extra easy cook book, not tried it myself
chicken and leek pie
400g each of sweet + white potato (peeled + roughly chopped)
100ml chicken stock
4 tbsp. finely chopped parsley
1 egg, lightly beaten
green beans to serve (could be other sf veg?)
for the filling
300ml chicken stock
2 leeks, washed + finely sliced
1 garlic clove, peeled + crushed (lazy?)
300g carrots, peeled and diced
200g frozen peas
100g sliced mushrooms
600g cooked chicken (diced)
3 tbsp. finely chopped tarragon
Preheat the oven to 180°C/Gas 4. Boil all the potatoes in a large saucepan of lightly salted water for 15-20 minutes or until tender. Drain and return to the pan with the stock, mash until smooth and season well. Stir in the parsley and set aside. **add stock gradually so it doesn't become too 'wet'
To make the filling place the stock, leeks, garlic, carrots, peas and mushrooms in a saucepan and cook over a gentle heat for 12-15 minutes, stirring often, until the leeks have softened.
Add the chicken to the pan and stir to mix well.
Add the tarragon, season well and cook gently for 3-4 minutes, stirring often. Remove from the heat and transfer to a medium-sized pie dish.
Spread the mash over the chicken mixture and brush the top with the beaten egg. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden and bubbling. Serve immediately with steamed green beans.0 -
Hi All,
Here's my EE menu for the day:
L: Homemade vegetable and lentil soup, 3 triangles of laughing cow light (HEA) and 6 Ryvita wholegrain crackerbreads (HEB)
.
You can have 5 of these for your HEA, I also only have 3 with 3 sesame seed ryvita, my night time treatI usually have 2 coffees through the day to make up the rest of the HEA

Great minds think alike - I was also thinking I could use the remaining HEA allowance for a dash of milk in a couple of cups of tea0 -

Thanks Macpep I though it had changed to 3 or something since the last time I went to group, so I was pretending I hadn't read it because I like my cheese triangles :rotfl:0 -

I lost half a pound this week so THANK YOU for all your support xx
just reading all your posts and knowing i have someone to ask if im stuck is a great help
Another pancake type recipe is mashing 1 banana and mixing it with 2 eggs and frying in a spot of frylight, i make mine in small rounds so they are easy to flip over with a spatula. I dont think anything can substitute for a real pancake but i like these for a something different kind of breakie:APlanning on being debt free:A0 -
