well the soup wasn't great.. I put some lentils in, too many and it was a bit starchy... water and the spice box have rescued it and its ended up a curry type of flavour :D

I felt like a kid again this evening with my two Nutrigrain biccies and some yeo valley yog tipped into a glass, reminded me of having yog and digestive biscuits as a pudding at school:)

Have been looking at the black forest pots recipe in this months mag. In sainsburys i have been unable to get any cherries in juice as they have been discontinued only available in syrup. So have picked up some frozen ones - to defrost so would this alter the syn value? Looking online tinned cherries in juice come up as 10 syns so my thinking is i would be saving 2.5syns per person is this correct?

Frozen cherries (or any other fruit) is free as long as they don't add in sugar - check the ingredients list!

I LOVE the frozen cherries from sainsburys - absolutely gorgeous - i mix them into yog the night before & have for brekkie

Does make really night black forest roulade!

thet are half a syn each and very tasty :)

I thought these were free (they used to be) but i checked & these and the lamb style ones are 1/2syn each

I feel cheated that Quorn keep changing the product ingredients and increasing the syn values

    But i suppose 1/2syn isn't too bad :o

    Morning all,

Hi to the new faces and hugs to those that are struggling - seems to be a theme at this time of year. I've started helping out with the weighing at my class and loads of people gained last week, most knew why but quite a few didn't, just seems to be a difficult time for many.

Really good week for me this week so hoping for a loss tonight. Went out with OH for a 'date day' yesterday as busy on Valentines night - shopping, cinema and lunch/tea in Zizzi (spaghetti with plain tomato sauce and mozzarella - counted 2xHE for mozz and had 6 syns spare for the day, which I think will cover oil and the tiny bit of OHs bread that I ate). Didn't feel deprived at all and was perfectly happy to have a simple meal, which pleased me no end - nothing worse than eating something because you have to but wanting something else! Also went to the bike shop and ordered a bike to try for size next weekend as going to buy one to start riding to work, plus went through my 'skinny wardrobe' and found quite a few tops (mainly size 14) that now fit me again, so have lots of 'new' clothes with out spending anything :)

Weather is cold and miserable and it didn't stop raining all day yesterday (although no snow) but the evenings are definitely getting lighter, so spring must be on its way - trying to think positively, lol!

    Green for me today:

    B: Porridge (B), milk (A), maple syrup (2), banana
    L: Mugshot, satsuma
T: Something potato based with cheese (A) and a bread roll (A), jelly sweets (?)

Have a great day all :)

  • I am absolutely gutted and annoyed at myself.... have only just discovered a week later that the bread I've been eating isn't HEB, it's 8 syns for 2 slices! So I've been oversynning all week without realising. Will syn it today as I've already made my lunch and got to leave for work soon, hopefully I've been good enough in the other areas and with exercise to still lose :(

My top tip for the week after two mistakes with HEBs? ALWAYS check!
