It's weigh day tomorrow so I though i'd see how much i've lost so far this week. I'm gutted it's only 2 oz's, fingers crossed I lose a couple of pound today. :rotfl:

Over the years i've tried every diet going & will lose for the first few weeks then stall & give up putting back on what i've lost plus an extra stone or so.

I'm really worried that I will want to jack it all in if I don't lose tomorrow. Surely if I follow the plan to the letter which I do I should lose weight.

I've tried talking to my oh & he just said to cut my portion sizes. Have 2 slices of bacon instead of 3, 1/4 of a tin of beans instead of 1/2 & 1 egg instead of 2. I did have 2 slices of toast today instead of the usual 2 but didn't eat till lunchtime & won't have anything else till dinnertime.

Sorry for moaning but I don't understand why I find it so hard to lose weight. My metabolism must be really slow. :(

Hope everyone else is ok. Hugs to those that need them. :A

I follow the plan to the letter and often see weeks when i sts or even have a 1lb gain. Thinking it over these are also the weeks when i notice clothes are looser so it isnt all about what the scales show and the lady who concocted SW is in the process of drawing up a new plan when scales are banned altogether and only rely on inch losses.
If you are also missing a meal in the day this will also cause havoc with your body. Having a larger breakfast, skipping lunch and going straight through to tea is what will send your body mixed messages and it wont be able to cope. Try smaller more regular meals. If you are concerned about metabolic rate go see the GP for tests.

  • I've never eaten breakfast, I just can't face food when I first get up plus I have to sort the kids out first anyway so tend to have brunch instead. :o

I think I will go see my gp as I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant & i'm wondering whether it has gone away. I read something that diabetics find it harder to lose weight. Plus all the years of being on various medications might of messed my metabolism up.

I'm thinking about seeing if I can get a gastric band if I can't lose it naturally as I want to have my surgery in the Summer as I want to get it all over & done with this year so I can move on with my life.

    Thanks. :A

That's drastic just take your time and don't worry about losing lots of pounds. I 'm a diabetic amongst other things and I am struggling too. The way we are going about it is healthy. Just stick at it and just enjoy your meals. Hug Hug

Could you manage a couple of biscuits in the morning while having a cuppa and sorrting kids out? Those new nutrigrain ones would fit in brilliantly and you wouldnt feel like you had eaten anything substantial at the same time as it being you HEB.

Your metabolism will also be slow if not eating breakfast as this is what kick starts it. A few weeks ago our consultant did a talk on it and amazingly all those complaining of slow losses and no breakfast all went on to loose at least 2lb each the following week. Once you set up the habit of eating breakfast those feelings of general bleugh and sickness will go and you will find yourself getting up and wanting to eat.

If time is also a factor theres the swiss bercher for brekkie, your HEB of porridge with 1 or 2 mullerlights stirred through placed in the fridge the night before and eaten either cold from the fridge or nuked to warm through to save time.

  • I've got a lot of pressure on me to lose the weight quickly & have another appointment to see my surgeon in April when i'll get weighed etc again to see how i'm doing.

I'm worried if I don't lose it this year i'll never get my surgery & be stuck like this forever. :( I've been like this for 6 years already & want to feel better about myself so my mental health can improve.

I'm hoping that if i'm really good today i'll of lost at least 1 lb tomorrow then I won't feel as bad & will have lost just over 1/2 stone in 3 weeks. They gave me 3 months & I was hoping to of lost at least half of the 3 stone by then. Maybe i'm setting myself impossible targets. :o

I'll get some of those biscuits to try & make myself eat earlier. :A

Hi all, seems to be the time of year for feeling down. Having a bad day myself, can't seem to feel happy at all. Just feel like a black cloud is hanging over me, just waiting to dump its load of misery on me :(. I don't want to go back on meds either, thats what made me gain and need SW the 2nd time around. The upside is I'm getting lots of cuddles from hubby and son.

WI today and despite the stress eating have managed a .2 of a lb loss, not much I hear you say BUT still a loss :T so going with it.

    Keep the faith all :A:A:A
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

:grouphug: these little guys have been busy this week.. group hug for all needing one!

    todays food has been..
    B: branflakes + banana (he a+b)
L: last of the butternut + veggie soup + 2 dark rye ryvita (3)
T: spicy meatballs in arrabiata sauce + pasta (courgette, red / yellow pepper, onion, mushroom, tomaotes in the sauce) probably have muller light and fruit for dessert

other syns: peanut hi-fi (6) hot choc (2)

finally got the little book of sauces, the arrabiata is from that.. ex. lean mince for the meatballs, looks yummy!

back to work tomorrow after 4 days off... blah!.. will have to organise myself :p
  • I decided to batch cook as I often feel so exhausted after work that I can tend to just have something quick(but still SW). I know I will get fed up if I carry on like that so looked through my books and am mass cooking today. However, just realised that I am running out of room in my freezer! I am making speed soup just now. How long can they be kept without freezing it? If I am heating it each day- I am thinking 3 days anyway- but perhaps it can be longer? Its all veg after all. What do folks think?
