  • Good morning lightweights

Had the most depressing news this morning. My wife says she lost 4 lbs last week. She says there's def something wrong with me only losing 1.5lbs as she has eaten much more, and knocked the wine back :(

Dinner's going to be difficult tonight as aforementioned has bought a veritable banquet of Chinese ready meals for the 4 of us. The temptation is going to be sooooo :o

    B. Muller light vanilla yog poured over summer fruits
    L. Roast beef, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, a couple of SW roasties, spoonful of bovril gravy.

D.............may try to slice up some leftover beef and dip it near some sauce......

Take a little bit of positivity from what the Wife has said - She ate a lot more than you! How many people on this thread have said you need to up what you are eating in a day? That first weeks loss would have been predominantly water retention, now you have settled into a plan of weight loss its that which you are losing now. So go back look over the meal plans and EAT.
Use syns online to calculate how many syns would be in the portion of food if you chose to eat the chinese. Then either say you are going to have a flexiday and tomorrow get straight back on track or stick to what you have planned to eat today and politely show 2 fingers at your wife for trying to sabotage your healthy lifestyle once again. I am assuming she has weighed at home today to tell you her weight loss - i can do that and look at a loss but group scales show a gain so dont be disheartened. Dont forget you are doing this now for you and not for anyone else, dont let their thoughts poison your own.

I second what Stef has said. Also want to add that if your wife isn't sticking to plan, it will eventually show on the scales. I can binge on takeaway and chocolate and still show a loss on the scale that week, but it will catch up eventually. Just keep going, 1.5lb is a good loss for maintaining long term - no matter what she says!

Managed to avoid the KFC last night :T but did switch to chicken instead of salmon to somewhat subdue the craving.

    Today...
Snack - Banana, followed by a run in this lovely rain
Breakfast - Cheese on toast (HEA + 3) and an apple
Snack - Strawberry greek muller (0.5 and lush!)
Lunch - Baxter's veg soup (HEB)
Dinner - I will have the salmon... I will have the salmon... :p ETA: Should be a 1.5 syn meal, same plan as yesterday.

So have about 5 syns (like to keep around 10) to play with for either pudding or snacks later in the day.

banjo, good advice from stef on eating more.. and having a look at the syn values for the chinese meals before hand if you can.. stick to the ones with the least amounts.. and boiled rice, noodles instead of fried rice etc.. looks like you don't use your full amount of syns each day so perhaps could factor in some for this?

sounds like you don't get much support.. must be hard for you!.. can only echo whats been said above ^^ those 1.5lb losses will start to add up!.. keep at it ;)
  • Thanks for your wise words and support everyone.
We normally have a light tea on a Sunday, having had a roast at lunchtime. So can't understand it. We aren't even Chinese or anything like that.

I'll add my bossy input too banjo.:D You admitted yourself that you hadn't held cutlery for an age! I know you've not been feeling like eating but existing on yogurts and oranges isn't good. The way it's been explained at group is that your body has 'noticed' the lack of food and is hanging on to fat as it doesn't know where/when it's getting it's next meal! A bit twee but I'm sure you get the gist.

I'd certainly agree with enjoying some Chinese tonight. Perhaps make yourself a portion of plain boiled rice and then enjoy. Jump back on the wagon tomorrow. As someone said, this isn't a race or a competition. One meal off may mess up this week (or next) for the weightloss but in the long term it's just one meal.

Noticed an Asda's meat free (therefore horse free:)) bolognese in the mag. It's a can and syn free. Thought it might be a standby to keep in the cupboard or for taking to work for lunch. Might be nice on a JP. Also saw Tomato Pasta n Sauce and some mugshots free in mag. So it would seem that 'new and improved by adding syns' was a myth.
  • It's weigh day tomorrow so I though i'd see how much i've lost so far this week. I'm gutted it's only 2 oz's, fingers crossed I lose a couple of pound today. :rotfl:

Over the years i've tried every diet going & will lose for the first few weeks then stall & give up putting back on what i've lost plus an extra stone or so.

I'm really worried that I will want to jack it all in if I don't lose tomorrow. Surely if I follow the plan to the letter which I do I should lose weight.

I've tried talking to my oh & he just said to cut my portion sizes. Have 2 slices of bacon instead of 3, 1/4 of a tin of beans instead of 1/2 & 1 egg instead of 2. I did have 2 slices of toast today instead of the usual 2 but didn't eat till lunchtime & won't have anything else till dinnertime.

Sorry for moaning but I don't understand why I find it so hard to lose weight. My metabolism must be really slow. :(

Hope everyone else is ok. Hugs to those that need them. :A
I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

keep at it BCS, don't be disheartened if the scales don't tell you what you want this week.. its taken me 15 weeks to lose 1 1/2st.. some in my group have lost 1st in a month!.. I think my portion sizes were always too big so I've bought some smaller plates so cant have as much on.. I know my food is free but think its a good habit to get into for the future x
