Have been looking at the black forest pots recipe in this months mag. In sainsburys i have been unable to get any cherries in juice as they have been discontinued only available in syrup. So have picked up some frozen ones - to defrost so would this alter the syn value? Looking online tinned cherries in juice come up as 10 syns so my thinking is i would be saving 2.5syns per person is this correct?

Sorry, don't have the recipe to hand but frozen berries are free so I agree with yor arithmetic.:)

Made the burgers and they're in the freezer for later in the week. Last time I made burgers I foolishly froze the mince then DH ad I had to be really greedy and eat the lot! Fortunately didn't start the chilli as realised didn't have enough beans or tomatoes in.:(

    Hi ladies,

This months magazine Mar/ Apr has a recipe pg 30 for Chicken Korma. It says 1 tbsp korma curry powder. I can't find it in Tesco / Asda / Sainsburys.

    Any ideas please?

  • I'm feeling really low today (not diet related)

I'm feeling the same today :(. Miserable, low, tired, can't be bothered. Was like it yesterday too. Wonder if it's the time of year? January is known for being a pants month, and Feb is looking to be much the same. Not like me, it must be said-usually quite upbeat and bubbly.
Hope you pep up soon :)

    Hi All,

Can I ask what is probably a very silly question - been out with mum and had a bacon butty, no butter, took all fat off and as it was on a white roll I found out the calories and have counted it as 6 1/2 syns (from the SW site).

Should I still have my Hex B or not ??

Seems daft to have more bread or something that I dont really want

I don't think you can count white bread as a healthy extra..;)

  • All the shops around me still have last month's mag. It's almost tempting to join group just to get it earlier. :p

    Still on EE today...
Breakfast - Low cal protein shake to use it up (5 - not worth it!)
Lunch - Scrambled eggs on small slice toast (1/2 HEB + 1/2 syn for tiny bit of spread) and salad leaves. Tiny grating of cheese from today's allowance (I cut the whole block up when I first open it, so I know 1 stick = 1 HEA)
Snack - Apple and rest of cheese, a few foam bananas (3)
Dinner - Salmon, cous cous, veggies, spoon of tzatziki (1)
Pudding - Alpen Light (1/2 HEB) and maybe a lemon greek muller (1/2)

1lb loss this week, happy with that as I've been fighting the binge urge all week. Think it's a combination of bad week at work and * week approaching. So need to make a start on dinner pretty soon, as I really want to head off to the local KFC. :o

I've decided foam bananas are lovely for SW treats. They are SO sweet that just 3 or 4 are enough for me when I have a sugar craving, and the M&S ones are only 15 calories each. And DH finished the rest of the packet, so there's not even the temptation to eat more. :rotfl:

I found out yesterday that I've secured a place in the London Royal Parks Half Marathon this year. I entered the ballot on a bit of a whim, I've never run anywhere close to that distance. Would have six months to train though, which should be more than enough. So I have a few days to figure out whether I'm up for the challenge.

  • Grr I hate earlies... being tired makes me want to pick!

I was so good at work, then got home and ate a pack of caramel snackajacks, which was fine as I figured I'd have something syn free for tea but then took OH to pub to watch rugby (Scotland supporter!) and we ordered food... I had chicken/bacon burger without the bun, cut fat off bacon and ate half the chips! Had the munchies when i got home so promptly ate a whole pack of those new biscuit things from mcvities that are now HEBs (I ate 4). Still have the raving munchies so I think I'll sort my food out to take to work tomorrow and go to bed!
