  • Morning all

Thank you for all your kind wishes for my cousin..not sure how the op went (dont really want to badger) but since i have not heard anything then i am taking no news as good news..

I am having a green day again today ( will be on green days for the forseeable as need to use up packets of pasta n sauce/bachelors rice/cous cous etc) as i am skint this month. :(

B - 35g of all bran golden crunch (hex b) and hex a skimmed milk (half)
    L - HM sweet potato/carrot soup with 2 slices of bread ( 1 x hex b & 1 x synned @ 4 :()
D - Pasta n sauce with sweetcorn, and quorn peices - side of veggies possibly?? Thats if they are still in the work freezer.

Snacks - apple, a satsuma, options (2), flump (1.5), shape 0% fat yog (free i think? need to double check.), packet of skips (4) , piece of chocolate (2?)

Can anyone shed some light on the WM bread syns? When i looked on syns online it said 2,5 and then this morning in my book it said 4? Which do you think it is?

Does it get anyone elses goat that syns online/the app syns list & the book are never 100% accurate?

If I'm eating spicy cheddar - such as cheddar with peppers/chilli and jalapenos in, do you think I can count this as a HEB or should I syn it?

Personally i would still count it as a HEA as peppers/chilli & jalepenos are all free foods!

  • This will be because of fat/oils within the cheese

But surely fat/oils are in other cheese aswell?

The syns would work out to what a HEA normally is anyway :o (6syns for 30g & 30g is HEA)

As a side note to the pasta and sauce thinking about things now, when everyone was stating 'new and improved' none of the packaging altered for the original sachets not even a new and improved banner on them but, high veg and wholegrain were introduced so PERHAPS this is where we are advised to check/recheck syn values. I never make them with milk just water to the amount of moisture required and can honestly say theres no difference in flavour or texture.
The same goes for mugshots, there were mumblings on here and in group that the ones available in say home bargains or poundland werent the same as the ones in asda or sainsburys when in fact they are, all the ingredients listed are the same, packet sizes match etc So this could just be a bit of scare mongering from someone who has been dependant on them and is now seeing a change in losses/gains? All speculation but thinking out side the box to try and balance it.

As for cheese, this was mentioned in group at xmas with people trying to be crafty counting flavoured cheese as HEX it wont work, these have different constitutions from the ones allowed on the list so must be synned.

RFD For the bread i would be inclined to say go with the online values more because they are regularly updated but it may have been a typo in the books thats been overseen.

You are getting 'less' cheese per gram with the added stuff than you are plain cheddar so its not a fair comparison.
