  • Hello everyone!

Really need to go through and catch up on everything! People at work have found out about my slimming successes and asked me to take my books etc in to show them how the plan works!

Didn't get to WI last night because of work but can tell I will have gained (no idea if it's just the 2lbs I needed or more possibly :/)

Going back to the usual EE plan for a week to get my head in gear to be able to do it whenever I want/need at work. So on that - anyone got any ideas for lunches without a HeB in? As I will use my HeB to have porridge or cereal for breakfasts. Or very quick but filling breakfasts without HeBs?

    Today:
    B:2 satsumas, banana
L: ham and cheese (from HeA) sandwich (HeB), jelly (0.5syn), pink and white (2.5syn), banana, 2 satsumas
Mid afternoon: hot choc (2 syn)
T: grilled chicken, rice and veg sauce (5.5syn) with added veggies on mine.

    Total syns:10.5

Another morning event with work so I'm expected to eat a little there - will try and stick to as little as possible! haha
A one hour walk for my lunch as I need to pick up a few bits and Zumba tonight too - yay!

Thinking that a possible day at work next week may look like:
B:porridge (HeB) made with water with chopped banana, satsuma
    L:tin ravioli (1.5syn), 2 satsumas
    T: something around 5syns
With a one hour-ish walk at a decent pace over lunch and a gym session at least once

    How does that sound/look?

I'm off next Friday as we are going to Cheltenham for the rescheduled league weekend - breakfasts and lunches as close to plan as possible and should be ok to make decent choices at evening meals out *fingers crossed*

    Morning all,

Well done Psycho and Studentmidwife - fab losses :D

Pennylane - Sorry to hear you're disappointed. Don't know what to suggest as you seem to follow it to the letter.I think you mentioned last week about possible not eating enough, did you try eating more? It's certainly worth trying to drink more to see if it makes a difference, fingers crossed it will.

EE today, and the usual Thursday late tea as out at darts til late:
    B: Porridge (B), milk (A), banana, maple syrup (2)
    L: Tomato mugshot, satsuma
T: Thai red chicken curry & rice (1), pitta (7)
S: Yogurt (1), maybe a lime and soda in pub (3.5)

Have a good day all :)

There was a discussion about Pasta n Sauce a few months back but I was thinking about it yesterday and have a question (or 3!). The new book says all PnS are 4.5 syns, does it not? I wasn't sure whether this meant because they were the 'new style' ones which possibly had different ingredients or whether that was for milk and butter, as it said something like 'made as directed'. I was reading the new mag yesterday and they were comparing tomato pastas, and the batchelors high veg PnS was free, whilst other brands of the same were only 0.5-1.5 syns. Is this because they don't have milk added to them? The other thing that makes me think that this is the case is that the online database shows them all as free-1.5 syns, excluding milk and butter. Not sure though as doubt 4.5 would cover butter, especially since it says a knob, how big is a knob? (no sniggering at the back! ;) )

I only have one every month or so but am trying to track properly instead of guess, so if anyone has had this mentioned in class (we haven't) maybe you could shed some light on it?

    I think a knob is 15g

Didn't realise the book says they are all 4.5syns

I take the syns online figures - mostly free or up to 1.5syns & use milk from HEA

100ml of semi skimmed milk is only 2.5 syns - so i don't know how they work out that they are all 4.5syns - 15g butter is about 4 syns alone!

This is what i raised and it was Shelliehollie that said the new directories were all faff. She was of the opinion that the books are taking into consideration using milk and butter not just water as we are told. I used a wholegrain med veg one the other day for lunch, in one book it said it was free but online stated the same one made exclusively with water was 1 syn. So if i am having a day where i use the pasta and veg i am staying below the 10syns mark to allow for any fluctuation.

Lost 3st 5lb with Slimming world so far!!
  • Not really following plan properly - most of the meals i have had are syn free & to plan, but because i can't stand brekkie atm (i think morning sickness) i end up reaching for a biccie later on

Can't stand fruit atm either - nearly gagged trying to eat pineapple yesterday - it doesn't appeal to me at all

But i am ok with carrot sticks & i still love my veg

Does someone want to come round & cook me lots of mash & veg? Pretty please x lol

I would like some sandwich filling ideas apart from ham & mayo :-/ bearing in mind i don't like salad (e.g. lettuce, toms, cucumber etc.) anyone help?
  • I know the pasta n sauces were 'new and improved' not so long ago which meant they were synned, same as the mullerlights were for a short period of time. Not sure what the outcome was though.

This has been on my mind blodwen as i have several packets that need using which have been in my cupboard at least 6 months (before the "new & improved" packs came out).

I am not synning them at all currently and this will continue to be the case until i have used them all up. Once (and if) i buy any more packs then i will syn the pack.

As an add on i also dont use butter, just add in skimmed milk (taken from hex a allowance) and water..

Might be worth checking an old packet/new packet for ingredients changes?
