I agree- it's classed as a 'tweak', i.e. foods that are free but used in a way they aren't intended to be cooked/eaten. As Stef says, it's up to you to decide if and how you tweak- there have been a few discussions before (I think counting flavoured porridge as a HEB was one) and there's also one here about it. I think it just comes down to how much you do it and if it affects your losses; everyone is different.

Realised I forgot to post today's plan, duh!
    B: Porridge (B), milk (A), banana, maple syrup (2)
L: Sweetcorn and ham chowder, satsuma
T: Pasta, pesto (2.5), roast veg, cheese (4)
    S: Yogurt (1), Freddo (5)

    :)

Well done Blodwin:T you have proved it does work!! Can you tell me what Chowder is? And your menu looks good too.

    Well done everyone xxx

WI today and i lost 1lb i worked my butt off doing exercise for that though so would have liked a little more but then i dont have much left to go and if im honest i could have done better on the plan.

we had a taster session today, apparently we have them on the first group of the month so must remember that next month. I found i like the rice pudding done in diet cream soda and the mushy pea curry tastes like a really good chip shop curry sauce so will be trying to make these over the week.

Now is there such a thing as a SW friendly crepe type pancake? or am i just going to have to be strong willed and have 1 and sin it?

The chowder is just a thick soup- I threw in whatever I (or rather my mum) had in the fridge! This one has a cauli, 2 leeks, 1 onion, 2 potatoes, half a big tin of sweetcorn and 2 pints chicken stock cooked and blended up. Rest of sweetcorn and shredded thick ham (more like gammon really) was added in at the end - made 6 portions. Very tasty, even if I do say so myself, and a change from the tomato and carrot based soups I always seem to do but get sick of easily :)

    Found these on Minimins

    1 egg per pancake
    1 heaped tbsp quark
    2-3 tsp sweetener

    3-4 Drops of vanilla essence

First seperate the white from the yolk and put into separate bowls, Whisk the egg white until fluffy and add the sweetener, In the other bowl add the vanilla essence and quark to the yolk then fold the mixture into the egg white.

Heat a frying pan with frylight, add the mix and spread as you would a normal pancake after a few mins flip over (But do be careful they are much more delicate than a regular pancake)

Words of wisdom and encouragement needed!
I've been doing SW for just over 18 months and have lost nearly 3 stone. Yay me, that's the most I've lost on any diet ever and kept it off. BUT I still have another 4 stone to lose! I really don't know if I can keep going for another 3 and a half years to get to target, so suggestions please for speeding up just a little?
I do EE, and stick to plan pretty much. I use about 60 syns a week, have loads of F and SF. I'm finding that I really don't feel that hungry lots of the time, and it seems wrong to eat just for the sake of it. I do know that I only have a couple of drinks a day though, and my tummy sometimes feels a bit grumbly, probably related?
Don't get me wrong, Sw is great and I'm enjoying it, I just could do with a boost. My weight loss tends to be 1 or 2 pounds on/off per month.
    Thanks for your help.

My mamma Well Done on loss and most importantly keeping it off and persistance for keeping on going. I am no expert but here is my view for what it is worth.
I would also want weight loss to be bigger and I am very impressed at your determination to keep going.
Please try and drink more as I hear those that drink lots of water do best.
Try going back to basics as make sure you are measuring everything you should and writing everything down.
Watch your portion size, although lots of foods are free they mostly have callories in them so you need to be sensible. I make sure I weigh a portion of rice / pasta etc to remind myself what a 'normal' portion should be.
You said that you don't get very hungry so it might be worth considering if you could reduce portions gradually.
The official rules are that you should use your syns daily, and although a weekly allowance works for some it doesn't always so maybe you should try to go back to that, if might be harder but you might have to make the extra effort to loose more, even if you have the odd day when syns go over and some where you have less.
Have you tried green and red days? Personally I prefer EE but some days when I know I am not having much meat I have a green day and I think it helps.
If you have been doing it for a long time have you got up to date directories and lists of Healthy Extras? I know that some of us think they update regularly to sell more books etc but pack sizes etc do change as do ingredients and the plan changes slightly all the time.
Read the books again and post your meals and just be a little bit mindfull it might make all the difference.
My last piece of advice is do more exercise whenever you can. Walk, use a bike if you can and if at all possible use some weights muscles burn calories and look toned so they increase your metabolic rate and make you smaller. I swear by my DVD's (I always read reveiws on Amazon and get ones with a short -20 to 30 min routine - as well as a long one) I also love yoga and pilates if you aren't the jumping about type. If you are a member of a library you can get exercise Dvds to try out (some are very annoying) and i have ordered from Love film before to try out before you commit.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck.

Hope you get the car situation sorted tie. It's not uncommon for transport to be provided and in Mr tie's situation employers should understand why he hasn't afforded two cars up until now.

I don't know if this is a current 'push' with SW but our consultant brought up tweaks at last week's Image Therapy (;):rotfl:). Strangely, the lasagne sheets was a big no-no but making cakes/loaves from chickpea dahl or scanbran is actively encouraged at our group (regularly appears at tasting sessions). I agree with Blodwen (and Stef) it's up to you decide. I know I made tweaks (saving syns was one probably) but decided I had leeway to be stricter if I hit a plateau (fortunately I didn't).

kiwisaver, it looks like your muesli was your HEB yesterday but if you can buy Ryvita or similar crispbreads they could be used instead of crackers for a HEB, need to decide how many syns in each I suppose.:)

    :Ton losses, stick at it!

Glad I posted them now as have been reading up on things I wasnt aware of or just good to know!

Some myths & misconceptions and info about using scan bran etc here.. have never fancied the cakes as have a savoury tooth so not something I've ever gone mad on really.
