I love carrot, lentil and coriander soup, it was in the little booklet that came with the last slimming world magazine.

    200g red lentils
    450g carrots, peeled and chopped
    1 Large onion, chopped
    1 tsp ground coriander
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
A handful of fresh coriander, finely chopped.

Put the lentils, carrots, onion, ground coriander and 1 litre cold water in a large pan. Bring to the boil for 10 minutes, uncovered then reduce the heat and simmer for 25 minutes. Then blitz with a liquidizer/hand blender, I completely blitz it until it is smooth but you could leave it chunky if you wish. I found it really thick so added some more water, I also added a veg stock cube for extra flavour and it was lovely.

I have decided that I am not going to go to meetings anymore, I have been at target since just before Christmas and I am still the same weight so clearly I can be trusted :rotfl:. I am exercising a lot more now so I am paying more attention to my body fat percentage rather than my weight. I will still be eating the slimming world way and reading this thread religiously to stay on track though :)

I love this recipe too but I have adapted it a bit. I use half the amount of red lentils and I add a tin of chopped tomatoes.

I think I know the root of my problem, it's lack of exercise. I used to be a dancer and kept my weight down quite well. Now I am disabled, I can't I do try to do step ups on our bottom stair and I do go shopping, round the store and the market. But anything else no, I sit around too much in between. I don't go to a W/I now as I got no help the last time I went in 2006. I have had more help and interest from all you kind folk. Trouble is as well I have diabetes and high blood pressure. plus the fact I have had cancer I had an operation to remove it and radiotherapy and if I get through the next 12 months I will be clear, I am really not gaining just fluctuating from 11 10 to 11 6. and back again. Very frustrating, I think I will take your advice and see the Doc just in case. Thanks to you all x
    So, fingers crossed.

Not so sure about this. Since 1st Jan I have walked 2 miles every day and do 1 x 1.5hr yoga session a week and I have not lost anything. :( The daily 2 miles is a fast walk with stopwatch. My GP once told me that a walk has to be fast enough so you can feel your heart pumping and you're slightly out of breath and that's just how my walk is so I'm confident I'm doing that OK.

I feel fitter and more toned and the fresh air is good for me but as for actually losing weight .... sadly it's not happening.

Hello - just done my first weigh in and have STS. I am trying to do this from home as I really dont like the classes. Have tried SW twice in the past and although I like the diet I just never got to grips with it.

I told myself that I was going to give it a proper chance one more time and I have not lost any weight !

At least I think that I know why....been a bit scimpy with my 1/3 SF and went out for a meal on Sat.

So, here I go again, try another week and hopefully it might start to work at some time.

Can I just ask - if you are going out at the weekend can you save syns? If you can, do you still have a small amount every day ?

Any help you can give me would be great.
    thanks
    Kath

Yes, Always keep a small loaf of whole meal bread in my freezer ( yippee I've got a freezer now,not hard please me!)
But I just forgot, which makes me think, I usually get my bchoice from ryvita crackerbread ,Idid think last night I could have added a small tin of apricots as my b choice, but I was quite full-after eating the extra chicken-hmm-perhaps if I had had my b choice I wouldn't have snacked on the chicken! must write down my food diary at the time so I balance it.Agood friend who's been very successful and motivated at this, says she keeps a note book by the kettle and writes down what she's eaten after each meal.
