Tefal actifry or philips airfryer?
hi everyone! I enjoy sw chips but they can be a bit of a faff. Does anyone use one of the above machines, and would you recommend one over the other?
I've looked at reviews but thought you lovely people would have some advice!
Thanks everyone0 -

Classes are always like this post-Christmas but they'll settle down in a few weeks so you might want to try again. Do ask any questions you want and keep posting your menu. The latest one looks like a Green day to me. 3 for a HEB is pretty average for a range of crispbreads (inc. sweet onion) but ask if you'd like to know about a specific brand. With Dairylea (triangles?) you can have 3 of the original ones or 4 Light. Next time you're shopping, you might want to try Laughing Cow Extra Light as you can have 6 of those for a HEA. I could only find one porage sachet on the green HEB list and that was Scott's. Stick at it, you'll get there!bluebelle_75 wrote: »hi everyone! I enjoy sw chips but they can be a bit of a faff.
I meant to tell lush yesterday that since getting to target I've given up on my variable attempts to make SW chips. I now buy McCain's Rustic Chips at 1.5 syns for 100g (cooked, who eats raw oven chips?:rotfl:). They're huge chips so I don't have that many but you could eat the whole bag if you wanted to! We eat chips about 3 times a fortnight so I think the syns are worth it, especially when you're short of time. They are 2 bags for £2 in Farmfoods (£1.50 everywhere else).
I'm doing a beef roast later and using up bits at the same time so it'll be beef, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots, cabbage, cauli and red cabbage (freezer) and a couple of small yorkies (been in freezer for months) with HM gravy. That's an amazing meal for a 'diet'!!0 -

You must be my long-lost twin!:) I used to have so many gadgets, most of which I didn't use and I have now got rid of them. I look at things like soup-makers, food slicers and think what a waste of cupboard space. All you need in a kitchen for food prep are a set of really good kitchen knives, some chopping boards and some good saucepans. That's about all I've got now plus an ancient pressure cooker.
I never have a prob with SW chips, we all love them and have them at least once a week now.:)0 -
Thanks to everyone for their comments on the sw chips. It's really helpful advice. Might check out those frozen ones for a few syns.
Also you've confirmed my fears about the actifry breaking!
Cheers0 -
My few attempts at SW chips failed so I don't bother - plus i don't really eat many if any chips anyway! Just about to get the bread out to defrost for lunches tomorrow but thought I would plan tomorrow now
I think that tomorrow will look as follows:
Breakfast:
Porridge (HeB) made with water, a banana and 1tsp golden syrup (2syns - it says its 2 for a tbsp but I prefer to just round up a smaller spoonful haha)
Lunch:
ham and cheese sandwich on small wholemeal roll
small pot jelly (call it 0.5 syn as that's the easiest way to count them haha)
satsumas
banana
Tea:
Out for a carvery so all good (love that our local carvery is 85/90% SW friendly!)
Desert - either shared with bf or a banoffee tart if they've put it back on the menu.
Have got satsumas, bananas, special k cracker crisps (bought a box on offer and have portioned it up) and a pack of pink and whites to keep at work in my desk as snacks. Hoping I won't be thinking of snacking so much as I will be nice and busy with stuff to do
From Tuesday I will be back on it to ensure I stay comfortably within target
think meal plans will look like:
Tuesday: chicken, rice and veg sauce (5.5syn)
Wednesday: left over spag bol (5.5syn), usual chippie tea for bf
Thursday: Sausage [2 skinny lizzies] (2syn) and mash/chips with veggies, baked beans maybe a yorkshire pudding with it (3syns) (5syn+2 for gravy if had)
Friday:Spag bol (5.5syn)
Saturday: Date night
Sunday: chicken dinner - grilled chicken, yorkshire pud (3), veggies, roast potatoes (2) or smash, dash of gravy (2) (7ish syns in total)
Like I said before, don't think I will make it to group on Wednesday night but will weigh at the pharmacy on Saturday morning to see how I'm doing************************************
