That sounds great, will have to try that, might be a bit windy the day after:rotfl: and I would be able to freeze the left overs.
mushy pea curry is quite nice.. I didn't add beans and used a hot curry paste in mine, would have to syn that of course.. powder / garam masala etc free
I liked the pea consistency as it was but some say they prefer to blitz the peas smooth before using them
if you wanted a curry with no tomatoes at all.. as psychopathbabble mentioned the pastes and nat ff yoghurt a very nice alternative0 -
I was looking on the slimming world website last week and I came across a section that said the recommendation of 5-15 syns per day is based on being overweight by a couple of stone. This got me thinking about syns if you have a more substantial amount to lose. I wonder if people still stick to 15 syns as a maximum or allow themselves a higher number of syns per day?0

They look absolutely yummy! I was in the Co-op yesterday and they have their grated cheese on offer at 2 bags for £3 (£6 per kg). The good thing was that all varieties (inc. mozarella) were that price and as far as I could tell all bags were the same size. I bought some extra mature cheddar. These days I only keep grated cheee in the freezer so it stops me from being tempted by a block in the fridge. I prefer to grate my own but I can cope with a bit of potato starch at that price.
I think the Directory is useful for seeing what's in a particular shop but it does date fairly quickly. It's a shame the syn calculator isn't simpler to use.
mollyjoe, I know you've had syns and snacks but you don't look to be eating a great deal. Hope you're not hungry?
Good to know that banjo now needs to munch his way through 20 syns a day!:rotfl:0 -

I have 10+ stone to loose, would that mean I would be allowed more syns, I can't find that anywhere on the website. But I suppose you can just eat bigger meals with free foods, bigger portions.0 -

For those struggling to fit any syns in as snacks then the recommendation for you would to be have meals that contain syns such as flours, oils and pastes.
The plan is designed to contain syns as your body still finds vital nutrients from these areas whether you choose syns as chocolate/sweets or flours oils and nuts. It also stops your body going into shock. If you have allowed yourself ample of what is now called a syn in your previous lifestyle then completely cutting it out now will deprive your body and you will then see hormone changes as Shelliehollie pointed out at the beginning of the thread.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Almond milk depends on what brand you have, alpro is 500ml and another brand called blue diamond is 875ml.
Its alpro the one I use0 -
Crikey just got in from swimming and shopping ( not at the same time) and there's a lot to catch up on
For the time being, I'm going to keep my syns as low as poss. But that lady to whom I must not compare, said she always maxed out her syns at the end of the day to 15. And she lost over 15 lbs in 3 weeks.
As for the Food Directory, I bought one last week and cannot recommend it enough. It's brill for planning shopping and meals, as well as snacks. I'm always referring to it throughout the day.
In Asda this morning, they had the Mattessons Turkey Rashers Original 150g at only £1.00 ( Smoked variety was still £1.98). It still shows as £1.98 on Asda.com though.
These are free foods on Original and EE, so I got a few packets as they rarely seem to be on offer. Mmmm think they will be nice in a couple of M&S mini wholemeal sub rolls
Today:
B. Muller light yog with 30 g muesli HeB . Kiwi fruit.
L. Chicken livers ( leftover from yesterday), tomatoes, salad leaves, shredded red onion.
D. Oven baked cod, SW chips, salad.
White wine - all my syns
SS milk in coffees.
Well done everyone :T0 -
Maman - surprisingly no I am not hungary.
I feel like I eat the same all the time though.
I am a very picky eater so do struggle at the best of times but I am going to continue.
thank youMollyJoe0 -
