Hi guys I got my books through the post yesterday but Im still confused.

1- How many syns am I allowed a day? Can I work this out myself somehow?
2- Any idea how many syns almond milk replacement drink is as I cant find that anywhere?
3- How should my day be spread out food wise?

Sorry Im probably being an idiot but I read everything last night and now my head hurts?

I started last week too, lets see if I can help you. You are allowed between 5 and 15 syns a day. Up to you how many of those you use. But I would start quite high so you don't feel deprived and it doesn't have to be alcohol or sweets, it could be for oil or for a sauce or mayo etc.

In the food diary online, under the heading Healthy extra's, I found Almond milk: blue diamond Almond Breeze Almond Milk, unsweetened, 875ml for a Healthy Extra A or Alpro Almond milk 500 ml

as for spreading your food out, it has to fit in with your work/lifestyle. I have to eat something between our evening meal and going to bed, too hungry to sleep otherwise, you can have free food when you want. If you are doing the EE, the recommendation is that 1/3 of your food intake is superfree, which are fruit and veg.

Mumoftwo. A very cheap curry sauce is mushy pea curry! Dont be put off by the name it doesnt taste like it. If you like chip shop curry sauce this will be great!

2 tins of mushy peas - any brand even the cheapest of the cheap
    1 tin of baked beans
    1 tin of tomatoes
    1 onion
1tbsp of curry powder - again whatever floats your boat.

Fry off onion in frylight till softened but not browned.
Add rest of ingredients and leave to simmer on hob for around 15 mins.
Blitz with hand wand or in blender then use this as your base for what ever meat or superfree curry you want to make.

Can i just say that for any men on here they can have up to 20 syns a day.
Almond milk depends on what brand you have, alpro is 500ml and another brand called blue diamond is 875ml.

Sorry, I didn't know men had different syn values :o

    Hello :hello:,

After doing SW last year and losing 3 stones and then losing the plot and putting 2 back on (40th birthday, holidays, loss of willpower etc!!!) I went back to group this week and am determined to get the weight back off plus more.

Started yesterday so heres my food diary for yesterday:

Breakfast - Poached egg and beans on 2 slices of wholemeal toast from small loaf (HEB), Clover (1.5 syns)

Lunch - Roast Chicken Mug shot, raspberries and pineapple and a Berry Bakewell SW bar (6 syns)

Dinner - Herby Minced Beef Couscous (from SW recipe book), 2x mini chocolate brownies (6 syns)

HEA was milk in my coffees, teas. Total syns for day 13.5

Today I'm off to buy some syn free sausages and burgers from my local butchers :D.

    Weigh in is Wednesday evening.

    Good luck everyone

HI and welcome! Your menu looks good but I would include some more superfree, particularly with breakfast and dinner :)

Does the food directory have all the free stuff in it too? I guess having this one means it's a lot quicker to look stuff up while shopping etc! Thanks for the thought :)

Yes it does have all the free stuff too, under the brand names.

That sounds great, will have to try that, might be a bit windy the day after:rotfl: and I would be able to freeze the left overs.

Mich, maybe I'm misunderstanding but by talking of reducing portion size are you saying you're not losing much or quickly? I think they're perfectly good losses! Your STS weeks have always been followed by a fairly big loss and you say the gain was justified, so IMO you're doing great!

it was more to show the differences in weekly losses and that its not the same each week.. i'm more than happy as long as its coming off but do think I eat large portions, always have.. better the SW large portions of course.. ;)

STS last night despite a good food week so you can never tell what will happen when you stand on those scales :p
