  • Morning all

Done my 4 x 12 shifts, Weren't too bad except yesterday. Am tired today, the first day off is always the same! Its not raining though today, and the wind has also died down so after a nice cooked brekkie, a long hot shower and then a nice beach walk with DH and hound. Gonna go to town tomoro and buy myself some hand weights, and have a go at a DVD I bought. (That should be a laugh, I'm so uncoordinated).
Not really decided on food for today, except the brekkie. Will work it out later. I do know I am gonna try and save my syns so I can have the bottle of champagne in the fridge. It's the end of my Dryathlon period, and having had NO alcohol for the whole of January, I am so looking forward to it. I only managed to raise £67.50 for Cancer Research UK, but I guess it's better than nothing-Every little helps!
Have a lovely day everyone x

35g? Hope that's right, need to read the books but just got such a shock that thought I'll start straight away, used to have syrup and count syns but thought I'd go for no syn sweetener, tasted ok!
Going to do boxing on Wii now!

Morning all. I am another one in the gang of extremely slow losers. While i appreciate i am eating healthier than i have done in years it does kind of grate that by doing so the weight isnt shifting. One interesting thing mentioned on here is having a 'bad' day once a week to kick the metabolism into gear and reducing syns the remainder of week. I am contemplating this now as sticking to plan rigourously isnt working for me. And thinking back over the weeks where i have had a loss greater than 0.5lb i have had a meal out. Now this could be pure coincidence or just a freak weigh in but im getting to the stage now where im a truely fed up.
Today is WI day/night and * has turned up a week early
Hoping there can still be a slight move on the scales.

    Today is EE day.
B, scrambled eggs on toast (heb) banana
L, mugshot, apple, hartleys jelly 0.5
    T vegetable paella, side salad
    S unsure
    hea milk.

Welcome to my gang!!:) Is there a pattern to your weight loss? Maybe we are people who only lose, say, every 3rd week or something. My book is in the car but I will check later. Maybe there is a pattern.

I guess we have to look for the positives in losing weight slowly. When I think about it, my weight gain was slow and gradual so I should really expect my loss to be the same. If I stopped eating for a few days or just lived on fruit then I'm sure it would fall off but that's not the SW idea and I wouldn't do it.

As it is, we eat very well indeed and I am seldom hungry. I walk every single day (just off for a 3 mile organised walk with a group in 10 mins). So I am healthier and I am more toned.
I also feel that losing slowly I don't have too much excess skin. I know people who have lost weight rapidly and it really hows in their faces and can be very ageing.

    My food today will be:

    B: Oatbran porridge and banana
    L: Omelette and salad
D: Spag Bol made with minced quorn (SW recipe)
    Muller Yoghurt and fresh mango

Have had consultant look over my books/diaries telling me that i should cut down on meat up the poultry and fish. I do that then get told to cut down on fruit and up the veg. Syns are fine as are always between 5-10 a day rarely up to the 15. But a stand in consultant said to go up to the 15 a day so i did for a week and got the gain. Now being told that SE is the way to go but this shouldn't be the way if the plan works the rest of the time. The past week i have also started to exercise. Have gone from just daily plodding along to 45 mins each morning on the WII doing the free step for 30 mins and then 15 mins hoola hooping. So should help tone the old muffin top :rotfl:
I started SW at 15st 1.5lb and am now down to 13st 2lb. So a way to go yet to any 'normal' BMI. But i would be happy just to slip back into my comfy size 12's that i were in when i met my hubby 6 years ago.

Tbear06 Yes 35g is the correct amount, better to check it over for a great start!

    Hi all :)

    Today is roughly looking like:

B: toasted wholemeal roll (HeB1) with jam (1syn)
    S: satsuma, banana
L: cauliflower and horseradish soup (0.5syn) once I get around to making it! served with a ham sandwich (HeB2), 2 satsumas
    S: Pink and White (2.5syn)
T: supposed to be pizza chicken but pretty sure I only have enough chicken out of the freezer for bf so think I will have mash, veg and a bit of bacon

Syns: hot choc (2syn) with cream (1syn) and perhaps a curly wurly (6syns)

    total: 13 syns

Off to sign my new contract this afternoon and then off to the gym - no zumba this week as I will be there too early for it but I want to hammer out some quality work; will warm up on the hand bike (5/10mins), 10 mins on the treadmill, 10mins cross trainer and some rep on some lower body weights then will go for a bit on the rower. Might up my time on the treadmill depending on how busy it is :)

Would I be right in calculating the syns at 4 ?

    82 kcal / 20 = 4 per half tin .

    thank you

Sorry Molly Joe, I think i might have got it wrong.
Baxters carrot and corriander is no longer a HEB (I did think it was).
I loked it up and a can is 7 1/2 so your calculation is nearly right.

Try Spicy Parnip (also one of my faves) this is a HEB for half a can. But a whole can is 9 1/2 syns.
I think next time I will have to stick to half a can and fill up on free food. But i tend to keep a can of something in may desk for days when I have not sorted lunch.

Pennylane~it may be because you are getting near to your target?
    You are arent you?

pennylane (and others;)), I think we can all hit a plateau sometimes whether we're near target or not. I noticed a sort of pattern like stef when I'd only lose every few weeks. I just stuck it out and it came right in the end but my plan was to try a bit of Success Express and go back to weighing/measuring my HEXs as I'd got a bit lax with that. The 'day off' theory is what loads of people do in practice and still lose. Someone I knew used to go to WI and then call in the chippy on the way home. What did jump out at me from your post was 'if I have any syns'. You really should have them.

Has slimming world changed much in 11 yrs?

I don't go back that far but I'd imagine the Extra Easy plan has been brought in since you last did it. The Red and Green plans are still in the books but your consultant will probably focus completely on EE at your talk. To me, it's like Red and Green together but with only one HEA and one HEB each day.

WI for me this morning and I'm pleased to say I'm back in target range. I haven't been posting my food this week but I will say that the extra syns I've been having have all been as snacks/treats rather than meals. Ideally I'd have them when I was out rather than buying stuff in to tempt me. I've kept my meals to SW. Need to watch myself this week, keeping a balance. I know it's a problem many of you would love but staying within a 6 lbs range isn't easy!:D

Had my 4th WI last night and I lost 3lbs so that takes me to 11lbs lost in total. I was really chuffed.

Had a doctors appointment this morning that I'd been losing the weight for and the doctor was really happy and very complimentary about the loss. It made me feel even better.

So now I have to carry on and continue to do well.

I've had my weetabix for breakfast and have some vegetable soup for lunch along with fruit and a yoghurt for snacks. No idea what I'm having for dinner yet but I'll make sure it's something healthy.

Morning! 1 1/2 lb loss for me. Decided to sign up last week online with the £35 discount code, so that I would get the new books etc for 3 months. I will go it alone after that again.
I was plodding along nicely until I fell down the steps at the cinema and twisted my ankle, haven't been able to walk too well and feeling sorry for myself, not having a lot of food in the house, have eating a few calorific things like Snickers, bounties, white bread etc. but this is a new week and I am determined to give it my all.

Been shopping this morning, hobbling along through the aisles, so all stocked up with lovely veg and fruit and I can't wait until tonights tea which will be cheese burger (with very small wholemeal bun, HEB and HEA) and home made wedges and making coleslaw as well.

Have a lovely, tasty day today
