After all the talk of roasted broccoli yesterday I made some to go with our lasagne. The piece I had in the fridge was yellowing a bit but was fine when roasted. It was so nice (and as I said earlier, still craving some) that I have just been out to Lidl in my lunch break to get some more - superfree food, moneysaving and 30 mins body magic in one fell swoop ;) Might put some proper garlic and a bit of parmesan in it tonight, mmm :D
Another yummy addition to brocolli is a splash of sesame oil (synned of course, but soooo worth it!)

Looks not so nice before its blitzed.
    But is lovely.
    I also add some stock.
tee hee I like my soup thick enough to stand the spoon up! If I have any spare HEAs and HEBs I'll float a pagan krisproll on top of the bowl and sprinkle a little grated cheese over, back into the microwave for a minute to melt the cheese ....

TIE, positive thoughts wending their way to Mr TIE.

    And Nessie - congratulations x

and Banjo - listen to these caring people and do as you are told :)
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Lost half a stone in three weeks, which I know is not unusual.

I LIVE ON MY OWN-LOVE IT!
So I only have food in that I am not tempted by, ie no biccies etc

Pennylane..your menu looks to be lacking in carbs . I know from several people that carbs are very important when exercising - off the top of my head I can't recall exactly why. I will speak to a friend who will know the exact reason & tell you.
What plan do you tend to follow? I can't quite discern from your menu above. You could possibly have a couple of success express days in your menu as this may kick start your system again. Do you vary your healthy extras? This also may be worth a try to get your metabolism re-started.

A final thing that's worth mentioning is that its actually good for the body to eat more on one day of the week because the extra calories means your metabolism has to really start working again in order to burn off the extra energy ..it sounds like you have stabilised in this respect. This is something that all body builders do too.

ETA - no need to apologise either. One of the great things about this thread is the support that is offered. I had a gain on Monday which I was upset about as I have no idea why it happened. People's kind words on this thread made me feel a bit less like a failure.

Thanks for your kind words Fairydust.:) Re the carbs - I eat plenty of veg, I eat rice, pasta, couscous and I try and vary wat I have as well.

I go to group with my sister, she's hobbit size and much lighter than me but every week she'll say she's eaten crisps everyday, had a Mc Ds etc and then on WI will lose more than me and I've busted my a$$ sticking to the plan an get a small loss, sts or gain!

Used to get me down but just plod on with it now and carry on.. after a wee mutter to myself of course ;)
  • EE... struggling with HEA at the moment though, I don't really want the limited dairy options I can have.

Breakfast - Porridge (HEB), banana, coffee
    Snack - Special K bar (5), apple
Lunch - Brown rice sushi (0.5) and salad
Snack - Lactofree cheese and maybe a ryvita (1 when not HEB? need to double check this in my book)
    Dinner - Salmon and vegetables
    Pudding - FF yoghurt (0.5)

So still have a few syns to play with.

Someone else already said it, but to reiterate 10 stone at your height (I am a similar height) is within the healthy range. You can go up to 10st 5lb according to the NHS calculator. 12 stone 6 would take you out of the obese range (over 30) so would be a good goal in my mind. I'm sure the surgeon will advise where you need to be though, good luck!

He said I need to lose approx 3 stone so my BMI is less than 35.

It's gonna be tough but at least I have a very good reason, new boobs & flat tummy (i'm having reconstruction using my stomach so essentially a tummy tuck). :)

I'm determined to do this & I think with the support of the people on this thread i'll be having my surgery in no time. :A
I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

Help! I really need to join and keep posting. I lost 2 stone last year with SW, by myself and reading your tips. I knew I'd put some back on, blame Asda glitches, ffingers etc, and lack of willpower, but nearly a stone! So I'm asking for your help, I will post menus and read all your tips. I know it can be done and once I'm back in the 'SW zone' I'll enjoy it again. So my first target is 8lb. I'll update my signature and weigh in next Thursday morning.

    Today:
B: Porridge hea, heb sweetener, apple, satsuma

Morning all. I am another one in the gang of extremely slow losers. While i appreciate i am eating healthier than i have done in years it does kind of grate that by doing so the weight isnt shifting. One interesting thing mentioned on here is having a 'bad' day once a week to kick the metabolism into gear and reducing syns the remainder of week. I am contemplating this now as sticking to plan rigourously isnt working for me. And thinking back over the weeks where i have had a loss greater than 0.5lb i have had a meal out. Now this could be pure coincidence or just a freak weigh in but im getting to the stage now where im a truely fed up.
Today is WI day/night and * has turned up a week early
Hoping there can still be a slight move on the scales.

    Today is EE day.
B, scrambled eggs on toast (heb) banana
L, mugshot, apple, hartleys jelly 0.5
    T vegetable paella, side salad
    S unsure
    hea milk.
