I got DH today to take a photo front on and side on of me in my undies, which was just horrific, but I'm hoping it will a. spur me on and b. give me a sense of how far I've come when I lose the weight. Will keep them will hidden for now though! :rotfl:

What a good plan and motivator. :j

I didn't take photos of me before starting slimming world but just looking back at me in photos at the kids birthdays etc and I look horrendous  I knew I was over weight but I didn't realise how fat I looked, it is definitely a motivator to stick with it and not put the weight back on.

Although I have put 6 1/2lbs on in one week, how is that even possible?! I have been eating properly for a few days and the scales just aren't budging, been out for a 5 mile walk today so fingers crossed that will help.

watchitm~AFAIK you have prepaid for your countdown & the fact that you reached target while still having a valid countdown is your loss IYSWIM? At out group people are advised to think about reaching target, holidays ect before buying a countdown.
Why dont you get in touch with your consultant to check?

Further to this answer yesterday I was looking at the new pack & it does state that in the main there are no refunds for countdowms~hope this helps~HTH

I chose HEA as my HE today. If I don't use all the milk, can I carry it over to tomoro, IYKWIM?

Hi everyone, A Happy New Year to you all. Tomorrow is the start of my new life as a slim person (not thin ) SLIM !
I said just before Crimbo that I would eat sensibly and mean to go on like that. HOWEVER,this didn't happen. I succumbed and had a sherry or three, some Thorntons Classic chocs, and a few crisps and some After Eights.
    Today. GREEN DAY
B was Porridge HE A & B. piece of fruit and a coffee.
    S A coffee and Apple
    L HM Soup... lentil Soup
    S Milky Coffee Clementine
D Roast Lamb HEB, sliced and new potatoes, carrots green beans and corn, 2 tbs Gravy 2 syns ? Mint sauce.
Manderin Fool with triplechoc biscuit topping and double cream Homemade so I don't know what syn value it was.
I'm not sure how many syns I have to have. I know it's 15 per day But, do I have to have them all ? And is the above day correct, anyone?

You have both HEA and HEB every day. No they cant roll over.
If you choose milk for instance for hea but dont use it all then fancy cheese instead it would be better to syn what milk you have used and use the full hea on the cheese.
Your heb can now be bread, certain soups, cereals, cereal bars, oil or hifi bars.

Did you weigh the lamb for your heb? Syn the mint sauce?
To work out the syn value in your fool you would need to get syns for each component and then divide it between how many portions made/eaten.

It used to work really well for me when worked on 105 for the week - but the consultant yesterday didnt give me much info....oh well I think I will stick to what worked before ..... well ...... need to now ..... buffet was delicious, but just looked and some of the things I thought were free are actually quite high......yikes with the ones I'd counted I've had 69 today grrrr ;-) xx but oh well still within my weekly total! xx

Hello there and a happy new year to you all! I bit the bullet yesterday evening and drove a 40 mile round trip to join a SW group so I could be ready to start in the morning (sounds mad I know but at the time it seemed the right thing to do) before going out to celebrate the new year with take away and alcohol!
I'm hoping to use a more local group, well not too local as I am sooo embarassed by my weight, but hoping some where a bit nearer so I wont have such a long journey each week!
Thought I would hop on the board and say hello to everyone as one thing I miss on the SW site is no community! After my weigh in I almost had a heart attack , I seriously need to lose some lbs before my hols in May....I've done SW before but hoping this time I've had my 'lightbulb moment'.

Hope you dont mind me joining in

    claire x

Well done to you for joining.

I also wish SW would do a forum or chat ... anyone know why they don't?

Know what you mean! We have one of those gadgets which rotates pics and normally I don't pay much attention but we've been sprawling about over Xmas and pics of me keep coming round. I look MASSIVE on just about all the holiday pics from the last few years. Like you, I didn't realise how big I'd got.
Thing is on hols I wear sort of vest tops etc and they honestly don't do me any favours ... I think only the most slender women can wear those and look good. They show up all lumps & bumps.
