quark is nice for the quiches too..

this is for mini ones, great for snacks / lunch.. you could make a big one from the recipe instead and use whatever filling you want..

    mini quiches (this made 12)
I did diced smoked bacon, onion, mushrooms in frylight
tub and a half of quark (250g size - use 500g if more are needed)
    6 eggs
    mixed herbs
    salt and pepper to taste

use a hand blender to mix the eggs and quark, add seasoning / herbs
spray muffin tray with frylight add cooked ingredients
    pour over the mixture
add slice of tomato on top

into oven for around 20 mins or so.. just have to keep an eye on them and poke a knife in to see if cooked

    Mollie Joe,

It is HEB but you only get half a can, I always eat a whole can if I am having it on its own for lunch, so the syns for the remainder can be quite high.

Have looked online and in the 'Free' book and i can not see this variety as a HEB. Baxters vegetarian varieties are - 200g spicy parsnip, 400g country garden, 200g carrot and butterbean.

Can i ask whether there are any diabetics on here please. I'm being nosey you see, a lady has joined our group and although has confessed to not being on plan at all because of family difficulties which are making her turn to food has announced she cant eat more than 2 pieces of fruit for health reasons = then said she was diabetic and was told no more than 2 a day other wise it will affect her insulin levels. Now my dad is type 2 and has been told he can eat fruit tilll it comes out of his ears if he wants its the naughty stuff like cream cakes, sweets and chocs he has to cut back on so just wondered niavely if it is the same for type 1 or if this woman just isnt ready/commited to wanting to lose weight.

I'm not but both my parents are - father is Type 1 and mother is Type 2. Have never heard of fruit restrictions, only that they should be careful with juice as the sugar absorbs quickly and can cause a spike. I checked Diabetes UK guidelines quickly and no mention there as well.

Personally, I only have two servings of fruit a day as I find more doesn't agree with me. It should never be an excuse not to eat right though, I make up for it with plenty of veg.

... I'm not going to group anymore. Don't panic, I've got some very good reasons....
    • I hate going to group!
    • I'm really embarrassed by my weight problems and eating dissorder. I can cope on here because none of you know me, but it makes me cringe to be part of a "fat club".
    • I'm not keen on the people who go (they're rough) and the worst thing is that I work in a high school, and some of the children from school go too, and it's just mortifying!
    and there's more
    • I weigh nearly a stone less at home! I weigh with no clothes on, and 1st thing in the morning, but at group I'm fully clothed after eating brekky and lunch. I go without dinner even though I'd have plenty of time, just so that I weigh as least as possible.
    • I start cutting down on food on Sunday night in an atempt to weigh less on tuesday.
    • I have an eating dissorder. I hate the scales. With a passion, so weighing once a week is very distressing. No matter what the scales say, I'm always upset.
I feel relieved and so much better for deciding not to go anymore. I don't NEED to go to group as I lost stones on my own before. I just fell off the wagon at Christmas, and then panicked, and joined the group again, but I didn't really want to. I don't get anything from the group.

The reality is, I'm 14 st 2lb at the moment. At 13 st I'm very very happy. At 13 st 7lb I'm more than a little chuffed. Even though I'm 14st I'm in a size 12 trousers (although they are tight ;)) and I just look curvy rather than fat so I really shouldn't be putting myself through this?? So I've only got to lose a stone to be more than comfy, and that won't take very long will it?

So, there we go, no more stress and upset for me. What a relief :T

You could easily join me at my group none of the kids here!

I would take good care of you ;)

Good luck going group free - stay here to keep motivated!
  • Hiya Gang :hello:

Lushlifesaver - hope the interview went well!

    Nessie216 - congrats!

Breast Cancer survivor - great weight loss, well done!

frogga - I can well understand your reasons for not going to group. TBH, I wish I hadn't paid for the 12 week countdown as I wouldn't go again either.

It look a lot for me to take the step to actually go to a group. It's a large one with some 50+ at the moment. There's only been one other guy so far (not friendly). Last week I sat on my own for over half an hour whilst everyone was weighing-in, feeling like a spare part. It took 45 mins for everyone to weigh-in, then to sit for an extra hour whilst the Consultant went round everyone individually - so boring. At my intro, the consultant just did a speedy run-through of EE from the book, has never mentioned the other options. That's why I was confused on here to start with until you lovely people explained.

I'm a bit down TBH, as although I've been very good, I don't seem to be losing any weight after the initial 5.5lbs. I resisted the scales until this morning. Reckon I'm the same if not a smidge heavier than my last WI when I recorded only a 0.5lb loss for my second week :( It's soooo tempting to be synful tonight. :o

Stay away from your own scales!!!! They wont be calibrated the same as the group ones, you wont be wearing the same clothes as on a weigh in day - yes this does make a difference! and you wouldnt be weighing at the same time.

I weighed on my scales as part of doing the wii fit again, the weight difference on there in 45 mins was a whopping 1 stone 5lbs now if this was the case i would be cart wheeling but alas its not and im stuck in a rut of stay the same lose a pound stay the same gain half a pound and so on and have been since June 2012 so it has been a slow loss to just under 2 stone.
