... I'm not going to group anymore. Don't panic, I've got some very good reasons....
    • I hate going to group!
    • I'm really embarrassed by my weight problems and eating dissorder. I can cope on here because none of you know me, but it makes me cringe to be part of a "fat club".
    • I'm not keen on the people who go (they're rough) and the worst thing is that I work in a high school, and some of the children from school go too, and it's just mortifying!
    and there's more
    • I weigh nearly a stone less at home! I weigh with no clothes on, and 1st thing in the morning, but at group I'm fully clothed after eating brekky and lunch. I go without dinner even though I'd have plenty of time, just so that I weigh as least as possible.
    • I start cutting down on food on Sunday night in an atempt to weigh less on tuesday.
    • I have an eating dissorder. I hate the scales. With a passion, so weighing once a week is very distressing. No matter what the scales say, I'm always upset.
I feel relieved and so much better for deciding not to go anymore. I don't NEED to go to group as I lost stones on my own before. I just fell off the wagon at Christmas, and then panicked, and joined the group again, but I didn't really want to. I don't get anything from the group.

The reality is, I'm 14 st 2lb at the moment. At 13 st I'm very very happy. At 13 st 7lb I'm more than a little chuffed. Even though I'm 14st I'm in a size 12 trousers (although they are tight ;)) and I just look curvy rather than fat so I really shouldn't be putting myself through this?? So I've only got to lose a stone to be more than comfy, and that won't take very long will it?

So, there we go, no more stress and upset for me. What a relief :T

:T many congratulations nessie. I wouldn't advise putting on no weight as your LO will weigh something!!:) What you don't want to do is put on additional weight yourself, you might even lose. What you do know is that with SW you'll be eating very healthily during your pregnancy which is good for both of you.
that reminds me, we used to talk about making a quiche using potato instead of pastry (I prefer that, as soggy pastry is just gross!) - however recently I've made a couple using first some quorn "pretend" ham slices and then using some real ham slices to line the baking tin. Works a treat! And is quicker than messing with potatoes.

I remember those quiches BR. Personally, I enjoy a quiche with a HM mashed potato base. Great with beetroot and pickled onions on the side. Some members were using Smash (or preferably Asda SP mash) with very little water and squashing it into the base. This apparently (never tried myself) went quite pastry like and crispy. I liked the individual quiches in muffin tins that were lined with slices of ham as a base. I've only had them at food tastings but yummy!

Oven rustic chips from McCains are low in syns if you feel it is too labour intensive to make your own.

I use these: 2 for £2 in Farmfoods if you have one near you (£1.50 each everywhere else).
Week one weigh day today & i've lost 2 lbs 14 ozs. :j

Frogga, sounds like you made the right decision for you. :T

I've been meaning to join group for two months since I moved house, and keep putting it off. Have a nagging feeling at the back of my mind that it's not right for me, for many of the same reasons you mentioned. As long as you stick to a plan you know works for you, and get support elsewhere (i.e. here!) I don't think group is necessary for everyone.

ETA - If you hate the scales, throw them away! When I was in my early twenties, I went from a size 26 to a size 14. Never weighed myself the entire time, didn't see the point. All that mattered was that my clothes were getting smaller. :D

frogga, now you've explained about your group I can quite understand why you don't want to go.

Do stick around on here and keep posting your menus if it helps.

You don't have to weigh at all if it upsets you. You could just keep eating on-plan until those trousers fall off!:D

Lets just say that my intentions of getting back on track after too many syns at the weekend went awry after stopping for the $tarbucks latte deal on my way to work. its gone down hill from thereon in.....

Have started to meal plan however - so back on track tomorrow I hope :j

Does anyone know when the new SW mag will be out ?

Frogga.. cant add to what maman and londondreamer have said.. sounds like the right decision for you!

just had the speed soup for lunch.. its lovely.. had to do a few tweeks, turnip instead of leeks and no lentils so used chickpeas..

I don't put the stock cubes etc in until the veggies have cooked, drain a bit of water off as the tins have liquid in so can end up quite runny.. I like a soup you can stand your spoon in.. ;)

can re add water if needed then after you've blitzed it :)

I have made pizza bases using smash, it was a lot of faffing about if I am honest! The quiche I love is from slimming eats, I hate cottage cheese but because its blitzed with the eggs you would never know & its scrummy, I wouldn't thank you for a pastry based quiche now :rotfl:

Afternoon you chatty lot. Quite a few posts to catch up on i see.

Had a busy day so far today. Son is off school with his upset stomach (just left with painful cramps today) so meant dragging him out of bed to take with me to my husbands hospital appointment, this is manic as daughter had to be dropped off at work in one county for 6am, then come home all of us up washed and breakfasted to be out by 8am for an hours drive to different county all together for the hospital. Now hubby been told we have to do this journey for a further 8 weeks so he can go for hydrotherapy :( I know its in his best intrests but its a pain in the backside there isnt anywhere closer to do it.

So been very good mealwise today and avoided cafe temptations while waiting for hubby to get out of his appt.

    EE day here.
    B, 2 x toast (heb) total 0% and a banana
    L, vegetable lasagne hm LO
T, minced beef and bean hotpot, filled to the brim with onions and carrots.
    hea - milk for coffee.

Can i ask whether there are any diabetics on here please. I'm being nosey you see, a lady has joined our group and although has confessed to not being on plan at all because of family difficulties which are making her turn to food has announced she cant eat more than 2 pieces of fruit for health reasons = then said she was diabetic and was told no more than 2 a day other wise it will affect her insulin levels. Now my dad is type 2 and has been told he can eat fruit tilll it comes out of his ears if he wants its the naughty stuff like cream cakes, sweets and chocs he has to cut back on so just wondered niavely if it is the same for type 1 or if this woman just isnt ready/commited to wanting to lose weight.
