Lets break down the negativity your dealing with and you might get somewhere. My hubby told me when I was OVER 20 stone that he loved me the way I was and I didn't need to lose weight. He loved me as I was. You don't need to lose it... you YOU want to.
He has now lost 3 stone himself at home just by eating what I do.

Weddings are stressful, monumentally, and if you just lose 1lb a week you'll be a stone lighter for your wedding.
    1lb a week. Focus on that ;)
Hubby 'loves' how much more energy i have to play with the kids, how much more content and confident I am..... and so much more. I have my sparkle back :D

I'm not a medically trained person Penny, you've been doing this for a while I would hazzard a guess that you are trying to shift the stubborn bits now, and it's becoming a fight.
I walk 45 minutes every other day. So yes, I think it may well be a reaction to your exercise. ESPECIALLY if it's something new.
Experiment for a week or two. Up your HE or use every single syn up. Increase the calories slightly when you exercise.
EXPECT to gain then you don't get the kick in the gut if you do.. and get a nice happy feeling if you don't.
It wouldn't surprise me if you're body is panicing. 45 minutes walking at my speed will burn around 250 calories.(myfitnesspal) - In some cases thats equal to a SW meal. No wonder my body switched off, I was reducing my intake in effect to around 1200 a day. Not enough. Edited to add, You could reduce the exercise, but I think you might miss it now.
    HTH Penny.

remember everyone... ONE WEEK AT A TIME!!! It doesn't happen over night.

Thanks, no more negativity from now on promise! And you are right a stone will make alot of difference and is achieveable before the wedding. I spoke with my Mum today about my concerns and she said that she would be able to take my dress in no problem so thats another thing off my mind as that was stressing me out and not helping. I think I will be fine once I take the inital step though the door and join on Thursday but i'm not going to wait until Thursday to be good as like you said 1lb a week would be good so if I can loose a lb before I join that would be good aswell :) although I know their scales will be a differnt amount to mine.

If you are going to follow plan even loosely before signing up you may want to discuss this with your consultant as you dont want to feel you have not done your best at the first weigh in if your loss isnt as great as those who joined at the same time.
I started the plan 2-3 weeks before joining up but more to see if my son could tell any difference between meals and it was him then that wanted to join up so now when our weights are read out she also puts in front of it that there was a 9lb loss before joining up that will not show on our progress rewards to all the new comers in the group.

    Looks amazing :)

No, amazingly! I will probably jinx it now, but we have been really lucky so far this winter. Usually it's us under blankets of snow :snow_laug

    Looks blissful Sharalee.

I would love the peace and tranquility of that.

I'm not from here originally, and when I come back to Englandshire to see my folks, I really struggle with the noise, the pollution and just the super fast pace of everything. It is lovely and peaceful here :D

Mrs Optimist, I can only empathise, because that's my downfall when my defences get low at night. Tonight's going to be another test after my wine. :o

Well I don't know if I've made a good choice with not being able to find fat-free fromage frais for my fish pie tonight. I've got Sainsbury's Be Good To Yourself low fat creme fraiche. According to the online syn tool when entering nutritional info, 142g gives 5.5 syns on EE. Not sure how much of the pie I'm going to eat at this stage :)

I made the mistake of nibbling some of the raw dill I bought for the pie, and crikey, it's strong and keeps repeating on me.

Let's keep the faith, and hope the munchie gremlins don't win tonight, for those of us that are vulnerable to such.

Hi Banjo, I'm a big fan of fish pie but never put any "white stuff" in there apart from fish, that is no creme fraiche, yoghurt, from frais, anything. Before Slimming World I never put milky floury sauces in either. I use the mixed fish sold in a pack for fish pie, plus perhaps a few prawns or some smoked salmon scraps, garlic and onion chopped and softened off, lots of chopped parsley, some mushrooms sliced, perhaps a sprinkling of nutmeg (I think nugmeg and mushrooms go so well together), black pepper, sprinkling of Aromat or similar. On top I put thick layer of Smash instant potato with cheese, because I recently saw some SW recipes including this and they were stated to be free, which cheered me up no end. I often syn a bit of grated half fat cheddar cross the top and, being the microwave queen, slam it into the microwave for about 8 mins. Done!

Of course, only the onions and mushrooms are superfree so you need something tasty alongside - spinach, broccoli, ratatouille, halved grilled tomatoes ... nice colourful stuff. I honestly wouldn't put dill in, but that's just me. But I do think many of the SW recipes are straining credulity (and time, and the purse strings) so I tend to adjust.

AND HAVE A GLASS OF WINE!

(I have a postman red rubber band around my wineglass at the 125 ml point, it stays on through the wash. There's no cheating then).:D
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
  • oh, and since I've not been here for quite a few months, some of you won't have heard my "evening nibble" recommendation: put a fat free yoghurt of your choice into the freezer 1.5 hours before you plan to eat it. It comes out cold but mushy in the middle, frozen around the outside, with a bit just under the lid that is a smooth icy consistency. Leave them another half hour and they are frozen right through; takes longer to eat but you don't get the different textures.

Another idea is to pop some frozen fruit (raspberries, strawberries?) into a pot of fat free yoghurt and pop it into the freezer for ten minutes. Turns itself into ice cream with fruit in. Raspberries with Banana/custard yoghurt is particularly nice

We have certainly got some snow up here in the North West Lancashire to be precise. it's almost drifted up to the window sills. But fortunately it's going to rain tomorrow afternoon and it'll be gone Yipee! I love watching the kids play in the snow and I love to see snow on Christmas cards, but I can't walk out in it or drive I would kill myself. From my window I can see Pendle Hill and Longridge Fell If anyone knows where they are. Oh, what a beautiful sight.
I shall post my menu tomorrow. Byee!
